SCAMMER!
I had purchased a custom watch a few years ago and was so pleased with it and can have nothing negative to say. Fast forward a couple of years, Jay J mods seemed to have disappeared until the beginning of December where they were advertising numerous deals on modded watches. My wife wanted to get me one for Christmas so chose my watch, agreed a price and promptly paid. Little communication to start off with when I asked about the watch, promised it would be sent out by Xmas Eve on special delivery. No communication since and still no watch, Jay j mods has again gone off grid and hiding probably until December where thy will scam more people.
Ordered a watch took ages to arrive with little to no communication, eventually arrived broke within six weeks! Sent it back to be fixed, been five months without any contact, doubt I will ever see the watch again, avoid at all costs.
Scammed for £250 on a watch that stopped working within a month.
The “warranty” is fake and so are his products. He also doesn’t ever respond to his messages and emails.
Luckily I paid via credit card and my credit card company have reimbursed me.
Don’t bother with this company!
Scammer !!
If you ring Prestatyn police force on 101 they’re currently building a case to prosecute , please do this for us to build a case!!
The company has dissolved! I paid £275 for a watch and he's got it and ran!
Terrible experience. Much like the rest of these reviews. Communication is poor to non existent. The watch came damaged. So it's been returned. He has had the damaged watch for over a month. He's now not replying to written or email correspondence. He still has the watch and my money. Will be taking Jayjmods to small claims court.
Ordered a watch from the website & when it arrived, I decided to have a look inside, as it had bits on the dial like dust or skin. On opening, I realised that not a single part of this watch is genuine. I could build this watch from AliExpress for £70. Very disappointed; will never do business again. There's modding an original product & there's selling fakes.
I’m really surprised by the reviews - I’ve ordered numerous times from JayJMods and have always found Jamie to be very helpful and responsive. The watches I’ve purchased are great quality and I’ve recommended the company to others who I know have also been satisfied.
Just offering a balanced view - in my experience over the past few years, he’s a great modder with a vast knowledge of the parts available!
Avoid This Company – Very Poor Experience
I ordered a custom dial watch from JayJ Mods to mark a special occasion and made an effort to stay in touch throughout. Communication was inconsistent, with long periods of silence. Only after I opened a PayPal case against the purchase did the owner, Jamie, finally respond and seem helpful.
He gave various excuses for the lack of contact (bereavement, illness, staff quitting) and asked me to close the PayPal case, claiming he couldn’t use his account while it was open. I checked with PayPal and was told this wasn’t true, his account would still function during an open case, and once closed, it couldn't be reopened and all protection I had would be lost.
I refused to close the case and instead offered a compromise: a partial refund in exchange for a standard watch. Jamie went silent again. After nearly three months since I placed my order, PayPal resolved the case in my favour.
Save yourself the stress, do not trust this company.
Absolutely appalling experience with JayJMods Ltd and its director, James (Jamie) Johnston.
I sent my Seiko watch for custom work along with a £195 payment. From the beginning, communication was slow and full of excuses about staff issues and delays. Despite repeated chasing, I received no clear timeline for when the work would be completed or when my watch would be returned. Even after sending a formal letter, I still have no proper update — and he still has my watch.
It should not take constant chasing to get basic service. I will be escalating this further. No professional business should treat paying customers this way. Based on my experience and similar complaints of him and his business found online, I strongly recommend saving yourself the stress, time, risk and look elsewhere.
Bunch of scammers. Stopped communicating and doubt they were ever going to make me my watch. I had to get my refund via PayPal- these scammers still owe me £50 but unfortunately I made the payment as 'friends and family' - my mistake. Such disappointment.
Avoid. I ordered a custom dial, once they received payment no answer until I reached out to the company director Jamie. He replied but has now not been answering, but has been replying to others and still selling. Avoid at all costs. Someone else has said in reddit he hasn't returned a faulty watch he sold them as well.
