Very disappointing

Very disappointing. I didn't think that there was much to go wrong with a fridge.
Bizarrely the fridge is freezing food at the same time as creating a pool of water. Door seal good, tried all settings but cannot rectify problem.

Ice King Cooler

I bought the Cooker in February, the first one was too badly damaged, accepted the second although still not great. I needed the Cooler at the time as we had a function. I then noticed a crack in the door frame, I contacted Ice King to claim on my warranty!! It only covers Mechanical parts?? I spoke to a woman who was going to look into the issue plus speak to Click to Buy who supply the item! Never heard back?? I have photos of the door and the block of wood under the door pivot that prevents the door falling off?! All that gets cool are the bottles or cans, the drinks inside are not sufficiently cold for a £200 purchase.

poor service and money wasted

thermostat failed on freezer after just 5 months and unable to obtain replacement. warranty not worth the paper it is written on. regret buying Iceking product as we have a nonworking freezer after just 5 mnths !

Avoid at all cost please read my story !!!

My auntie who lost her partner to a brain tumour was left in financial difficulties and turned to charity’s to help with things she needed at her hour of need.

A local company gave her a brand new small fridge with a little freezer at the top. She was over the moon and couldn’t believe how lucky she was. The company purchased it from iceking where I guess they must use this company for their supplies.

After a few days the freezer part stopped working and we where told to contact iceking as it has a 2 year guarantee with it. We provided the model num the serial num the postcode the date of purchase and everything else that was asked in a swift manner.

We then had Steve out from the company to look at it and see what was wrong with it.

He arrived and was very pleasant but at a guess he thought it might be the gas in it that needed doing again. Sounds like a leak he had said to iceking in his report.

We waited a few days to see if the next stage of what we needed to do happened…but nothing did it was almost as that was the end of that problem and it was no longer theirs.
So I rang in to be told someone would be ringing to book us in to re gas the fridge. That was a few weeks ago now and no one has been in contact to arrange anything..

I have emailed them tried ringing numerous times but there phone now says there busy and can’t answer the phone right now. Every time you ring.

I’m going to keep on with this company until something is done as it’s totally unacceptable to the highest level to treat someone in hardship this way… disgusting behaviour and after sales.

I had never heard of iceking before and I guess now I know why. What company wants to deal with iceking if this is how they treat people.

I know I for one will never purchase an iceking product ever and I really wanted to stress to people on this page to think before you buy from iceking because trust me you will have a major problem on your hands if your item becomes faulty. You might as well take it to the local recycling centre and buy another one..

I like to warn people so you don’t have to encounter the stress my auntie has.

I'm happy! (for now)

I have decided that bad customer service is pretty much normal now, and I hope it will change.

I am here to say that the IceKing IK2022WE that I bought last August is great. The internal temperature of the fridge compartment struggles to reach recommended temps on recommended settings, so I make sure that any foods like meat and dairy go on middle shelf where it gets nice and cold.

I was upgrading from a fridge with icebox, so finally having a fridge with a proper freezer has been great, and does indeed freeze the way it's supposed to.

So it's only been 5 months, and I never needed to contact their customer services, so I can only comment on how pleased I am with the fridge and company.

Terrible company

Terrible company, my friend bought an upright fridge freezer of there's just before Christmas with 2 years guarantee on it, the product has gone wrong and tried our best to cooperate and help them with the information that they required but they still put the phone down on us and provided no further help.

Purchased a fridge with ice box in February, the freezser compartment door gone faulty and needs replaced, advised not covered by guarantee and now parts unavailable - no i can see why the other negative comments.

Damaged and faulty freezer

Bought a top of their range chest freezer and the lock has broken 8 months after purchase. Steph capewell in customer services is ignorant and has uber poor communication and social/customer service skills. Iv been told by several different people the part both is and is not covered.
The freezer arrived with a dent in it which I was easy going about and said as long as it did not affect the working order of the freezer I could live with it. Now the lock has broken they refuse to connect the fact it arrived faulty and said there warranty doesn't cover locks, even though other staff members have said locks are covered.
Total shambles, Steph is so bad, I run a company and if she worked for us I would offer her redundancy just yo lose her, she's awful. Her customer relations skills are the worst iv come across in years! Pooe her!
Hope you find this a useful review. Bottom line is, they take your money and are happy to deliver damaged goods with no compensation and when things go wrong they don't want to help. All in all buy from a bigger reputable company that cares or a smaller company that has to care.

Worst instruction manual ever?

All I can say is I hope the product is better than the instruction booklet that came with it. It really is very very poor with no proper info on how to install and operate. Now I am not saying this requires rocket science but if you are going to produce a booklet at least make it fit for purpose. I complained but Richard Gillman their CEO simply is burying his head in the sand and refuses to discuss because he says my contract is with the retailer despite me pointing out that the instructions are nothing to do with the retailer.

Our chest freezer broke after 1 month…

Our chest freezer broke after 1 month of having it and the support team are even less reliable than the freezer itself! I have spent the past 8 months trying to get the company to send a repair guy. The repair guy finally turned up and told us he needs to "order a part" to fix it...It has been over 2 months and I have not heard back - I chase weekly and apparently the team are "working on it". A joke of a company with dishonest staff.

I've had an Ice King fridge-freezer for…

I've had an Ice King fridge-freezer for 4-5 years. From day one, an alarming amount of water collected on the rear wall of the fridge, something I'd never seen before. I wish I'd returned it back then, but I was too busy. There have been several occasions when items stored at the back of the fridge were frozen solid, so I've always had to avoid placing things too far back. In the last few months the freezer has started frosting up rapidly and excessively. I think it's due to the door not closing properly; or maybe the door doesn't close properly because of all the ice. Six weeks after my last defrost, the entire freezer is now a solid block of ice. I've had it with this fridge. It needs replacing.

Poor communication & bad quality freezer

Very poor communication from the Ice King team, took me months to get a reply from them and they were very unhelpful on the phone. I asked to make a complaint and I was completely ignored, took me weeks to get my chest freezer replaced so ended up buying a hotpoint chest freezer instead! Do not order anything from this company, bought a chest freezer and it stopped working within a year compared to my last chest freezer that lasted me 15 years!

Would not recommend

Very poor quality product and unhelpful customer service. The door handle to the freezer compartment broke within a few months of purchase, meaning the freezer door will not close and is therefore useless. The product was still well within warrantee however Ice King refused to replace it, claiming it was cosmetic only. The freezer does not work if the door wont close so obviously it is not just cosmetic. Really badly designed product!
