Slick marketing... Casual to non-existent project management...Complete lack of follow through,AVOID!!!

They were all over the sale (like a used car dealer, couldn't reach sales rep after contract signed), didn't coordinate material delivery as production manager had indicated, workmanship was so so (lack of attention to detail, elements of flashing and proper shingle coverage and placement), question crews qualifications as Owens Corning Top of the House Platinum preferred contractor, project manager's agreement to come back out to fix issue never happened, damaged property at site...

EXCELLENT customer service and product. They installed Tru Log siding on my house. Sergey Cook was the project mgr and went way above on his service. His crew leader Carlos and the crew were great. Can't say enough about them. Job was finished 9/12/26. The crew was hard working and attention to detail. Very polite. All the representatives of HG were helpful and kept me informed

We meet with a sale representative who was eager to sale as usually during mid-July 2026 We informed the sales rep we had an important event at our home on Aug 29,2026 and wanted everything done no later than mid August. The salesperson reassured me that it should only take 3-4 days. I figured I would give them 7 due to weather issues like rain. They delivered the materials on 7/22/2026 and got started on 7/23/2026. It is now 8/26/2026 and my home is still not completed. Not only have they now completed but they refused to return any of my calls by management. I have called several and they just say it will take up to 48 hours to return calls but that was 72 hours ago. I was told that the sales person, Joshua, did not place any measurements in the file so no shutters were ordered. They have tried to put up the wrong size shutters twice and they have made no efforts to fix this as they have not even addressed this issue with me.. I was told today by the project manager who has been the only one who can talk, that it will take another week or so and now in 3 days, my party will take place at my naked house with no shutters. Never again will I use this company for nothing and I see on this website that they have been using fake reviews which is on this site. They got their money and did not care about my house.

I reached out for a siding estimate after seeing their ads. The salesman seemed friendly and knowledgeable, HOWEVER; disregarded my hesitation, objections and "NO - NOT READY - CAN'T AFFORD" statements for hours! His relentless rebuttals/overcome objections sale closing tactics included asking family members present to cosign or contribute to monthly payments and insisting high priority/urgency before imminent structural weather damage occurred.

Time line delayed, Zero communication once contract signed. Contrary to sales pitch materials and colors were NOT available. After reaching out multiple times without resolve I requested estimates from others and canceled my contract via email. Home Genius costs $20,000-$40,000 MORE than ANY other certified James Hardie contractor! They cannot/won't clarify or substantiate their markup, accept my cancelation but claim material order completed with delivery and installation eminent!!!

We hired Home Genius to replace our siding and windows. While the quality of the finished work was ok, the overall experience getting to that point was extremely frustrating.

Our project began the week of June 8. We were initially told the siding would take about a week to complete and that the windows would be installed in
one day once they arrived. Unfortunately, that timeline was never met.

Shortly after the siding project started, we were told the crew had run out of materials. From there, the project was delayed multiple times.

The windows arrived, and I took time off work for the scheduled installation and then received a call the night before saying the crew wouldn’t be coming. We were given several new installation dates, but each one came and went without anyone showing up.

Throughout the process, communication was disappointing. We often had to repeatedly call for updates, many calls went unanswered or to voicemail,
and we were frequently given conflicting information. It felt like we had to chase someone down just to find out what was happening with our own project.

Due to the conflicting information given, they agreed to put siding at the top of the front porch, however they did not. I have holes in the walls in the inside of my home where they put the nails in the siding, when I brought this to their attention, they said there was nothing they could do about it, that that was a common issue. Before I agreed to go with this company I was told they had insurance for any issues they caused but was then told the holes in the walls were something they would not fix.

In the end, Home Genius did complete the siding and window installation almost 2 months later. However, the weeks of delays, missed commitments, lack of communication, and the inconvenience of having an unfinished home made what should have been an exciting home improvement project far more stressful than it needed to be. I would not recommend this company to do any siding or window work based on my experience.

Update to my review
I came home this morning to my siding falling off of my home. I have reached out to several people including the project manager, the sales rep, the project managers manager and the 800 number to let them know. I am highly disappointed, it has not been 30 days since the project was complete, and my siding is coming down.

I have no idea why this company has been calling me but I've been slammed by 7 phone calls by different telephone numbers from them seeking business the last 24 hours.
Stop it. Harassment is no way to generate new clients.

This is a very sale aggressive company. I set an appointment with a door-to-door solicitor of the company to receive a FREE quote for vinyl siding replacement. The appointment was set at 9:00pm Friday 8/1/2026 for Monday 8/3/2026 at 6:00pm. I received 5 text messages and 4 telephone calls from this company by Sunday Morning at 9:15 am. The last call was during CHURCH SERVICES ON SUNDAY 8/2/2026 at 9:09am. I declined the call and darn it they didn't call me again within 3 minutes. I left CHURCH SERVICES to call them back so as to not be bothered again on a SUNDAY MORNING!!!!! They also want to make sure that a person of authority to enter into a legal binding sales contract is present at their appointment time. To me this is JUST TOOOO HIGH PRESSURE SALES PRACTICES!! I would not buy anything from them at this point in time!!!!!

I scheduled a roofing consultation with Home Genius Exteriors for 6:00 PM. At 5:31 PM—just 29 minutes before the appointment—I received a text stating the consultant was running late and needed to push the meeting back to 7:30 PM. Pushing a major appointment back by an hour and a half with less than 30 minutes' notice shows a lack of respect for a homeowner's time. I expect better communication and scheduling reliability when planning a major home project.

We had Home genius exteriors, do our siding! Worst experience ever! Our siding is coming off, the insulation is falling out, they broke our solar panel box and put the parts in upside down, so our solar panels have not worked since December/January of this year! You can’t get anybody over here to take care of it, you can’t get anybody to call you back and when you do, they just push you off to customer care who doesn’t do anything! Do not use them. They’re the worst company in the world. Their crew was awful. They were rude. They left their microwave plugged into our electricity wide open during a rain storm.

We had a great experience with Home Genius Exteriors and highly recommend their work for both roof replacement (they installed a metal roof for us) and new siding (we now have new James Hardie siding). Our house was 40 years old and looked pretty bad. Our wood siding had places of rotting wood and birds and carpenter bees made holes all over the place. We also had a leaky roof that needed replaced. Home Genius Exteriors did all the work to replace both and everyone with their company - Sameh, Tyler, Dakota, Nehemias, all the hard working roofing guys and siding guys, were all nice, helpful, and always professional. They went above and beyond with stabilizing a loose beam in our attic, replacing an electrical outlet, mounting new coach lamps and spotlights that we had purchased and fixing a loose row of windows on our sunroom, at no extra cost! Their communication was amazing! They never made me feel like I was bothering them when I would call to ask questions, often after hours. We love the end result of our home roof and siding makeover and our next door neighbor likes how it turned out so much that they're using Home Genius Exteriors to replace their siding now too!

Home Genius thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the punch work completed was not completed to my satisfaction. I explained it over the phone to your PM. If you would like me to post pictures of the poor quality punch work I can. The punch team only had one color caulking white. My siding is grey. Why would a punch team carry only one color caulk. Also I had to haul away all of the excess materials which cost me additional money. Ask your PM who removed all the left over material.
Also based on your reply my contact information has not changed. I have not received any reimbursement for hauling materials away and unfinished punch work. Stop with the excuses and make things right. There are plenty of other similar reviews. Work on real customer satisfaction not replying with excuses.

I only watched their super brief video of installation of one panel of shingle siding, but was amazed at what I viewed. The panel appeared to be about 7'x2' and was being nailed into the styrofoam (1",2"?? thick) with what appeared to be only a few 1-1 1/2" nails, meaning it is possible the nails didn't even get into wood!!! My father & grandfather were life long master carpenters and would have died laughing had they seen this minimal application. I also built half my house and always heavy duty. Siding could be great if they used appropriate nails and 5-10 times more, good luck otherwise.

The representatives and workers were wonderful to deal with - very upfront about expected costs and timeline, and were open and honest about what services would be more useful and which ones were totally unnecessary. They were able to do the project within my budget quickly, professionally, and made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way.

Overall, my experience was disappointing. I felt pressured during the sales process, communication was poor, scheduling was disorganized, and the project manager was only on-site briefly during the installation. The behavior I witnessed from members of the installation crew—including urinating on my property and the presence of empty alcohol bottles in the work vehicle—was unacceptable. Although I do like the appearance of the new black shingles, the overall experience has left me regretting my decision to hire Home Genius. Based on my experience, I would not use this company again.

I hired this company to install siding on my home and to replace the trim around my roof ,no less than six months the siding started to fall off and the trim I hired them to repair now doesn't function, they had to remove my gutters to install the new trim now Rain water is bypassing the gutter entirely and pouring under my back door causing damage to my kitchen floor ,I have reached out to them on multiple occasions and to this day haven't repaired the problem

BEWARE. They were a complete rip-off! Over $50K for siding for my 972sf ranch house! After a 4 hour appointment! Total waste of time. (I got 2 other quotes for $25K and $18K from reputable companies)

June 24, 2026 home genius exteriors had an appointment with me. I thought I would need attic Insulation and he said no you don’t need that so I’m thinking well that’s great and an honest answer. And result I ended up with a contract for $10,000 on roofing and a deposit of $1100.
Upon talking to my roofer who installed the roof, the roof is not even 10 years old, he told me he’s gonna do everything that needs to be done to update what needed to be updated for a lot less than $10,000. I don’t need a new roof.

I canceled my contract within three hours and to this date, I have made a numerous phone calls and I’m having a hard time getting my deposit returned. Do not I repeat do not use this company. They try to keep your deposit and are not trustworthy.

I would NEVER use these people again. From the start they used scare tactics to get you to sign. The home office lied to us multiple times (and we have all the proof) from why it was delayed, permits needed etc. Just lie after lie and then ghosting.

The project manager was a real piece of work. Tried to bully me into signing a certificate of completion when the project wasn't done.

They tried to buy our happiness by offering...

3. More free work for a 5 star review

I mean...come on. I've written reviews on them (much more detailed) in various other spots. They are corporate and all about the numbers.
