I’ve been a Saxo Bank customer for over a year and recently tried to open a joint account with my wife. The experience has been very poor.
We were told at the start that all the documents Saxo already had on file (proof of address, ID, etc.) would remain valid for three years, and that nothing needed to be resubmitted for myself — documents related to my wife are required which makes total sense. Despite asking for clarity upfront, we were later told the opposite and asked to provide everything again.
Our relationship manager, Prudal, has shown a lack of understanding of our circumstances — asking for documents from the wrong country and repeating questions we’d already answered in the application. We’ve also emailed the MENA regional head, Damian Hitchen, several times for support and have never received a reply.
The whole process has been unclear, inconsistent, and needlessly time-consuming. It gives the impression that the relationship management team either isn’t trained properly or doesn’t have the systems in place to manage existing client data effectively. The only reason we haven’t moved our holdings elsewhere is the effort it would take to unwind them.

I've lost money to fees because Customer Service agents told me i could deposit money when that wasnt the case. I opened my trading account with SAXO roughly an year and half back. I was having no issues, however I got a message a month back regarding ID update which is quite normal for UAE residents as ID gets renewed every two year.
Post which I am having horrible experience dealing with this bank which I never faced across with any bank till date.
Post ID and other details submission, there is no update, and no question asked.
First a person from call center told u need to attach passport as well. I attached the same, though passport was not expired as Indian passports are valid for 10 years.
However no response was received, again I went for call and had argumentative discussion with call center person who tried to explain me level of compliance followed by the bank and said since you have submitted the passport a day back it will take us 5 weeks to revert back. So my earlier submission of emirates ID which was based on ask become null and void from day count perspective for KYC completion.
Post which I had a call again, I ourightly asked I am greeting any feedback on KYC, I will attach bank statement incase required to show the complete details received as a salary from employer as a compensation and I uploaded the same.
Subsequent to that I waited for few days, no response received. Again I called at the call center, he responded since u have upload bank statement and compensation letter a day back it will take time from KYC team to revert back after 5 weeks.
All I can say my experience with this bank getting horrible day by day and I don't rcommed anyone to open trading account with SAXO for God sake.
and I am uploading document one by one i to activate my account but there is absolute no response from this bank.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Saxo Bank. While transferring money into my account takes just 10 minutes, withdrawing money is nearly impossible.
To withdraw funds, they require that money be sent from a bank account in my name, stating that their system will automatically retrieve and register my bank details for withdrawals. However, despite following this process multiple times and sending funds from my bank account, my details are still not registered.
I first contacted customer support on Tuesday and was assured that the issue would be resolved by the end of the day—it wasn’t. On Wednesday, they asked me to provide my bank statements, which I did immediately. However, my account still wasn’t registered. Each time I follow up, I receive the same generic response: “It is in progress” or “Please wait”. Now, I am being asked to wait until Monday—without any clear explanation of why this process is taking so long.
This level of inefficiency and lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially for a financial institution. The customer service team provides no real solutions, just delays and empty assurances.
I would strongly advise others to be cautious before using Saxo Bank. If depositing money is instant but withdrawing it is nearly impossible, that raises serious concerns. I will be looking for alternative banking solutions.

Every complaint gets a response that can be summarized as follows: "We will take 5 weeks to respond and you are advised to manage your own risks". 5 weeks in today's world is too long as a response time and hence the rating.
