I am sharing my personal experience…
I am sharing my personal experience with Healing Hands Clinic so others can make an informed decision.
I traveled to India in February 2024 for treatment of a rectovaginal fistula. I underwent multiple procedures over several months and was repeatedly told that healing was progressing as expected. However, the process was much more intense and painful than what I was initially told, and I experienced significant physical and emotional distress during this time.
At various points, additional procedures were performed that I did not feel fully prepared for, including removal of a large amount of tissue shortly before my scheduled return home. I was still recovering from anesthesia when some important conversations occurred, which I did not fully process until later.
After returning home, I continued to have serious complications and required extensive medical care. I later learned that my condition had not healed in the way I was led to believe while at the clinic.
I also experienced difficulties obtaining clear answers afterward, including regarding follow-up care and financial matters that had been discussed earlier in my treatment.
This experience has had lasting effects on my health, my sense of safety with medical providers, and my trust in international medical care. I wish I had known how difficult it would be to advocate for myself while ill, far from home, and dependent on one provider.
