Absolutely disgraceful company. Awful experience with Gym Sets UK.

I ordered a leg press machine and received a mediocre product with multiple essential parts missing. After reporting the issue, they sent replacement parts – except they weren’t even the correct parts. They then repeated the same mistake AGAIN, sending more random incorrect parts that had nothing to do with resolving the problem. I asked for a refund they said post the items back first - which I did!

This has now been dragging on for over 10 weeks with no resolution whatsoever.

To make matters worse, they refused to provide a full refund and instead offered a pathetic 10% refund. They also offered store credit, which is completely useless when the equipment you’ve purchased is faulty, incomplete, and unusable.

On two separate occasions I was told a full refund process had been started. Both times this turned out to be false. No refund was issued and no money has been returned.

Customer service has been nothing but excuses, delays, time buying tactics and broken promises. I have now reported the matter to Trading Standards and am pursuing further action to get my money back!

If you’re considering buying from Gym Sets UK ~ DONT !!!

Bought a kettlebell half rack, 28kg KB and a mat. Really impressed. The rack is super solid, well-made, and straightforward to assemble; all the tools are included, which is a nice touch. It comfortably holds 3 KBs per shelf; my 20, 24, and 28kg sit perfectly on the bottom shelf. Delivery was faster than expected, and communication throughout was excellent. Would recommend without hesitation.

I ordered the commercial tri leg weight bench and couldn't be happier with the product.

I decided to spend a bit extra for something solid that would last me a good few years and this certainly is exactly that. It is much sturdier than my previous bench, with zero wobble, and will definitely stand up to time. Assembly was easy with the help of the clear instructions and the descriptions really do help alot.

Shipping was very good, it came earlier than expected. There was some minor damage, but that was expected with all heavy packages, it hasn't compromised functionality in any way.

So far I am really happy with the bench and would definitely recommend and buy any future equipment if and when needed.

Really bad service I'm afraid. I ordered a 65cm gym ball, but the wrong size was sent. I contacted customer service explaining the issue and providing a photograph of the item received.

I was told that they were “investigating”. The item arrived on Saturday and it is now Wednesday, yet I am still waiting for the outcome of this "investigation". The issue seems very straightforward: the wrong size has been supplied and they should have immediately sent a replacement and a return label.

In the meantime, I was offered the option of keeping the incorrectly supplied item in exchange for 10% store credit!! This is not an appropriate solution and frankly an insulting way for them to deal with the error.

I had already explained that I have a bad back and purchased the ball specifically to use as a desk chair, but the ball sent is too small for this purpose — I cannot even see over my desk when sitting on it.

The proposed solution would leave me with an item I cannot use and require me to spend more money to correct an error that was not mine. It's also inconsistent with my consumer rights under the CRA 2015.

I've never even seen a gym ball this small and I don't know what you'd even do with it.

I used to have an online retail company and I'd never allow someone to deal with a customer like this. If you make a mistake PUT IT RIGHT. IMMEDIATELTY!

Guys sort your service out. Mistakes happen and customers totally understand that but how you are viewed as a company is dependent on how you deal with things that go wrong. You can convert someone into a loyal customer for life if you handle mistakes well. In my case, you have lost a customer and earned a bad review.

47% 1* reviews at the time of writing.. doesn't that tell you that you're getting something badly wrong? Please train your staff on best practice and make sure they understand the actual law so they don't come out with suggestions like this which might ened up misleading customers on their rights.

My experience with Gym Sets has been one of the most frustrating and exhausting consumer experiences I have ever had.

I ordered a Pilates reformer which arrived with a serious defect. The wood around the threaded fittings that secure the tension straps had split, meaning a key structural component of the machine was damaged before it had even been used. This was not cosmetic damage or wear and tear. The product arrived faulty.

After reporting the issue, I was initially advised that a full refund would be provided. Had Gym Sets simply honoured that commitment, this matter would have been resolved quickly and professionally. Instead, what followed was weeks of delays, repeated requests for information that had already been provided, changing positions and constant obstacles to what should have been a straightforward refund process.

As the customer, I have spent an unreasonable amount of time chasing updates and trying to obtain a resolution. Every time one issue was addressed, another seemed to arise. Rather than resolving the problem, it felt as though the process was being unnecessarily prolonged.

What has been particularly disappointing is Gym Sets’ apparent disregard for consumer rights when dealing with a faulty product. Rather than accepting responsibility and resolving the matter promptly, the focus appeared to be on avoiding or delaying a refund.

Perhaps the most concerning part of the entire experience is that Gym Sets asked me to close my PayPal dispute on the basis that they would process my refund directly. No customer should be expected to give up the protection of an active dispute while waiting for a company to fulfil its promises.

Despite those assurances, no refund has been received and I am still waiting.

At this point, trust has been completely eroded. A company’s true character is shown when something goes wrong, and unfortunately Gym Sets have demonstrated poor communication, poor complaint handling and an apparent unwillingness to resolve a legitimate issue without significant pressure and escalation.

The product quality was unacceptable. The customer service was unacceptable. The handling of the refund has been unacceptable.

If you are considering spending a significant amount of money with this company, I would strongly encourage you to consider how confident you would feel if something went wrong with your order.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Gym Sets to anyone.

Very happy with my recent purchase of dumbbells. The quality of the weights is excellent. Exactly what I was looking for , and the delivery was quick and hassle-free. Highly recommend!

Ordered dumbbell set and it's brill. Arrived really quickly, set up really easy and price was excellent. My son bought similar from elsewhere and the price difference is mind blowing. Really like that I, as an older woman, can start of low and hopefully work my way up. Good customer service as well
