Worst warranty experience I have ever had

I purchased the protection for my couch from Bob's Discount Furniture. This coverage was supposed to cover stains rips, tears, mechanical malfunctions. I discovered a small tear that I needed fixed and my claim was denied. It was explained to me that as long as it did not occur from pets clawing or scratching it was covered. Wasted hundreds of dollars on a poor warranty. Shame on Bob's Discount as well for telling me how great the goof off protection was.

I wish I could give 0 stars to this scam of a company!

I wish I could give 0 stars. This company is a complete SCAM! We have accidental frame support damage on a couch we purchased less than 3 years ago. We have checked our coverage dozens of times to confirm this is supposed to be covered. They claim it is normal break down of furniture. How is a slipped support beam normal breakdown for a couch less than 3 years old and has been used gently? It took them over 2 months to even review the claim. After emailing and calling half a dozen times, they finally admitted that it was "overlooked" in error and they would review right away. Less than 24 hours later they rejected the claim and said there was no opportunity for any discussion or appeal of the decision. I wrote a Google review and they faked concern for my experience and told me to email so they could look further into the issue. What a surprise, that was all for appearances and they never responded. Save yourself the money and the frustration and never buy their fake protection plan. I truly wish I had done a quick search on them when the salesperson who sold us the couch asked if we wanted to buy it. I've never seen so many 1 star reviews. They are such a joke.

This warranty has to be the worst…

This warranty has to be the worst warranty I have ever had to deal with. They do not cover anything that the store, in this case Cohens furniture, says that they will. This was a waste of time and money. NEVER purchase this warranty as they are scammers!

Wont even cover a simple fix of a pulled stich

Wont even cover a simple fix of a manufacturing issue of a loose thread loop that got pulled on and is sticking out on the leather couch cushion. They will fix a broken piece of plastic from a bad design but I'm going to cancel the whole claim due to I would rather just get a refund on the plan in a few years. I don't have the tool to push the thread back into the hole, But I will figure it out and fix it my self. its pretty sad they wont fix a simple issue. I am glad its not an actual tear or they would likely come up with some "fine print" excuse not to fix it. Don't waste your money or time with purchasing protection plans from any furniture store that uses this service

Never purchase insurance through Guardian Protection Products

Never purchase insurance through GUARDIAN PROTECTION PRODUCTS, INC. Furniture companies will sell you an insurance policy through GUARDIAN PROTECTION PRODUCTS that supposedly covers “everything”. Once you contact GUARDIAN regarding a problem like ripping, stains, piling and fraying they will refer you to GUARDIAN to file a claim. GUARDIAN DENIES ALL CLAIMS AND IS A COMPLETELY FRAUDULENT COMPANY. I have verified this through reliable sources and you may also read more complaints regarding this issue below. I am filing a complaint with the attorney general.
These fraudulent activities can not continue. Bob’s Discount Furniture is selling poor quality furniture and fraudulent insurance. The insurance company offered will find an excuse for denying all of your claims. I paid $299.00 for a 5 year warranty/insurance policy, and it is worth absolutely nothing.
Shame on GUARDIAN for offering bogus unreliable fraudulent information regarding insurance. THIS COMPANY IS INVOLVED IN A SCAM THAT WILL TAKE MONEY FROM THE CONSUMER FOR ABSOLUTELY NO COVERAGE. Shame on both of you!
Please save your money and shop elsewhere. You will only be left with faulty cheap furniture that breaks and a sick feeling in your stomach for being totally taken advantage of and humiliated BY GUARDIAN.

DO NOT PURCHASE

The biggest waste of money. Saved my money to buy a beautiful dinning room set after military retirement. Knowing that I would not be packing up and moving around anymore, I wanted to protect this expensive splurge. Stacy's furniture insisted on the Guardian protection plan.
I've had the set LESS THAN 2 YEARS and a chair leg snapped off. Natural, I sent in a claim stating what happened. There was a lot of back and forth with them stating that they needed more pictures and other documents. Only for them to say that my claim was DENIED.
I called customer service, and was told that it was a manufacture issue and not "accidental". After much debate, he gave me an example of how this issue would have been covered under the plan. he said that "If I stated that I was cooking and tripped over the chair and it fell over and the leg snapped, THEN it WOULD be covered. So, me sitting in the chair and pulling the chair out and the leg snapping is not covered? I fail to see to difference.
Now that I see the reviews with similar complaints, something need to be done to stop the scam. They play with words the deny our claims. I 'll post this review EVERYWHERE possible!!

This is a disgusting waranty

This is a disgusting waranty, not worth the paper it's printed on! It certainly did not deserve even a 1 star rating. They completed denied my claim, which was justified on a less than 2 year old $3000 leather couch! Unbelievable! Guardian...poor name that doesn't guard the consumer on anything! If anyone is reading this ahead of buying this warranty, do yourself a huge favor and don't. You could just as well take you money and flush it down the toilet!

Great Warranty

Had a spill on my furniture and they came and got it cleaned up timely under warranty. They were easy to work with and didn't push back at all. Great service, especially for a warranty company!

Just.. don't get the extended warranty

It's unfortunate that when you get these warranties, you typically don't want to stop and review the extended warranty provider before you finish the purchase... it's clear that most of us would NOT have done so now.

I put in a claim 4 months ago... I'm probably looking at that much more time to get my couch fixed... 6-9 months to have the main piece of furniture in a room repaired is just nonsense. Why would anyone pay for service with that much delay?

"Yeah, I can't come to work for 9 months because my car is at the mechanics"

WASTE OF MONEY

This company would not cover damage to a leg on my sectional sofa that broke after only 2 years. Their reason for not covering the damage was due to the fact that it didn't happen "accidently", as in someone tripping and falling on the chair causing the damage. If you choose to use this company and have furniture damage, make sure to tell them that the damage was due to an "accident" or you it won't be covered. I'll never buy a protection plan for my furniture again and will just extend the manufacturers warrenty for coverage.

RUNAROUND....RUNAROUND....I'M DIZZY !

First time issuing a claim we had to PROVE our purchase of the warranty. They said it was never filed by Bassett. Okay... not fun but we did. Then we followed all instructions with pictures etc.... They said they never received. REALLY?!?!? Sent AGAIN. Saying not received again. Tired of this so called Bassett customer service. I asked them to become involved since they partner with Guardian. Very disappointed ! Seems like a constant run around. Meanwhile stain remains... I will report back....

Terrible Company and Plan

Guardian Protection Products (“Guardian”) is a terrible company that sold me a terrible plan. I bought a plan from them in November 2023 when I bought at new couch at Rooms To Go (“RTG). The RTG salesman praised the plan and gave me a fancy brochure describing the plan. One of the principal reasons I bought my couch at RTG was the Guardian plan. On the last page of the plan’s brochure, in very small print, is a disclosure that the plan coverage is subject to all of the terms of the “full service contract.” That contract is solely online and thus was NOT offered to me by the RTG salesman. The salesman didn’t even warn me that the full service contract is full of exceptions, exclusions, and limitations not even hinted at in the brochure. I would be shocked if any RTG customer has pulled up the online full service contract and read it at RTG before making a purchase.

Last month, there arose an accidental tear in my couch, and I proceeded to quickly file a claim with Guardian. They jerked me around for several weeks, claiming they could not find me in their system even though RTG adamantly told me that it had sent all of my information to Guardian. Eventually, I was able to have my claim processed. Shortly thereafter, Guardian sent to me an email denying my claim because the plan covers “rips” but not “tears.” The Merriam Webster dictionary defines “rip” as a “tear” -- i.e., the nouns mean the same thing! The email also said the denial was a “final determination” and my claim “cannot be changed or altered.” After reading the highly negative reviews of Guardian on the Consumer Affairs website (where Guardian has a 1.6 stars rating!!), I decided to turn to warning future Guardian customers that the company is a SCAM!

Biggest Scam to American Consumer

This is by far the biggest scam that is being run against the consumer. I have been sold their insurance plan on many pieces of furniture that I have purchased through Bob's Furniture. Each time a claim is put in, the company finds a reason to not proceed. The employees of this company seem to be incentivized to not support their customers and are rewarded for this effort.

I had an incident where the company did deem the fault to be supported by the plan in which the frame of my sofa was damaged. The technician came to do a "temporary fix." but stated that the permanent fix would require a full replacement or rebuilding of the frame. I reached back out when the failure resurfaced as expected per the technician's note and the company is not honoring to complete the full fix. Please note, that getting them to come out for the fix upon first notice took over 6 months, including over 15 hours of phone conversation/wait, and 20 email exchanges. To this day, no resolution to further support has been granted.

As consumers we have the right to be protected and the practices of Guardian Protection Products (GPP) are quite deceptive to the American consumer. This is my formal complaint about the company and hope some serious action is taken on them.

Total Sham!

I purchased a Total protection plan from Guardian at Ashley Furniture and now when i reported the frame in the couch I got a refusal because it must be accidental and within 30 days, WHAT?. How can a failure of the frame be accidental, it breaks or warps over time. They denied saying the damage happened more than 30 days ago, no it’s been breaking for some time but recently became very noticeable. I think that many purchasers of this plan got duped into thinking they will be taken care of when something fails during the 5 years period. I paid $299.00 for absolutely NOTHING. To the people reading my and other 44% of the ONE STAR ratings, save your money and don't buy this protection, it's a sham.
