Every Review about this place is negative and i honestly dont know how these scammers are still in business. Every year the find a way to charge $500+ and never try helping or fixing the issue. This company is a disgrace and everyone thats in it as well

At first they’re good but we told them back in August we had lost our business and didn’t require they’re services anymore. They said that our contract expires in March. We let it go to March not using their services but still paying because we signed a contract! and this month April we see we got charged again. We called and they said contract automatically renews even tho we already called them stating we wanted to cancel. SCAMMERS. They fraudulently dragged us into another yearly contract. We tried to cancel again but they said we have to wait until next year or pay the full amount now. Do not do business with them

What Every Trucker Should Know Before Choosing Motive (KeepTruckin)
A true story about one cable, one contract — and a lesson in standing your ground.
When I first chose Motive (formerly KeepTruckin), it felt like the right move. Their website was modern, their products were FMCSA-compliant, and the process to design and activate your equipment looked fast and professional. As someone deeply committed to doing things right for our trucking business, I believed I was signing up for support, accuracy, and compliance.
But what followed exposed a deeper truth — one that truckers, especially new carriers and owner-operators, deserve to know.
⸻
The Mistake They Won’t Admit
We were sent the wrong ELD cable — a 6-pin J1708, which is clearly listed on Motive’s own website as being for trucks manufactured in 1999 or earlier.
Our truck? A 2003 Kenworth T2000 with a 9-pin diagnostic port.
I provided everything:
• The VIN
• Clear photos of the diagnostic port
• The model year
• And even a direct quote from their website confirming the mismatch
Still, I was told again and again by automated emails and live representatives:
“This is the correct cable for your truck. If you want another one, you’ll have to pay for it.”
⸻
The Real Problem Isn’t Just the Cable
It’s the way the system is designed to deflect and deny:
• I received auto-responses saying Motive was waiting for information — even though I had sent it multiple times
• The phone representatives repeated scripts with no regard for what I had already provided
• They refused to take responsibility, until I stood firm with proof, documentation, and pressure
Eventually, they agreed to issue a credit for the wrong cable. But it wasn’t because they did the right thing — it was because I wouldn’t back down.
⸻
Why This Matters to More Than Just Me
I had the energy, the documentation, and even the help of services like this one to resolve it. But many drivers don’t.
Some don’t know what they’re signing.
Others are told “this is how it works,” and they accept it.
And far too many get charged for equipment they can’t even use, or have to buy twice just to be compliant.
This isn’t about blaming every rep or every company. It’s about demanding accountability when the facts are this clear.

It made me give at least 1 star. They don't deserve a star. Fauls readings, I scratch my ear to be flagged for phone use, told I'm speeding when doing 55 in a 55 70 in a 70. This company in my opinion is only here to raise your insurance costs. Screw motive and their fauls bullshit. It's my opinion and my right to express my feelings about a shady company.

I emailed them on 2/25 advising that I had sold my business and provided the new owners contact information but they charged my credit card $720 when the subscription expired on 4/9 and refuse to credit me. I still have the email and their response acknowledging receipt. I followed the 30 day cancellation policy but they don’t care. I will dispute the charges and cancel the card so they don’t charge me again next year!

Reply from Motive
This company uses the fine print against you. I tried to cancel more than once, but they refused. Their agreement locks you into an automatically renewing contract, then when you call to cancel they decline, stating that there is only a 30 day window or something in which they allow cancellation. I had to deactivate my card to get them to stop stealing my money. Even after paying the full year they refused to cancel, referring back to their contract. I wonder how they think they're going to retain business with these tactics. Do yourself a favor and avoid Motive.

This company Aids and Abets on criminal behavior. I got a call this afternoon asking me about a subscription that was opened under my company details, i explicitly told them i was not associated, nor accept, nor opened this account, still they proceeded to open an account under my business identity. This guys license should be revoked!

1st I'm always running out of data usage even though I log out of my devices. 2nd I didn't even know I was locked in on a 2-year contract. When did this happen? I no longer have 2 trucks, yet I still have to pay for both devices even though one is not being used. This when I found out I was in a 2-year contract because I tried to return one of the units and Motive said I couldn't. Scammers, trucker's be aware!!

Reply from Motive
They boast at the beginning that it is a 1 year contract. But in the fine print apparently they can automatically sign you up themselves year after year for their contract so that after 5 years with them you go to cancel, You cant because they still have you under contract. This is so shady. I highly recommend you find someone who doesn't operate this way.

Inconsistent pricing, slow to respond, sense of grandeur since they are one of the major players in the market.. better stick with a smaller outfit that actually cares about you

Please run for the hills, they are scammers. This is the worse company ever. They tried to hold me to contract that already expired and auto renewed without my permission. They said I can’t cancel no matter what . Disputing the charges. Stay away at all cost.

I did it dispute with my bank got the money back. I told them do not try to take money out of my account I do not give you permission and I've count from my account. You guys know that. I finally talk to a person on the phone. He told me you can't cancel Because you have a contract, I'm informed that person send new bill we don't do that. Is added automatically renewed. It's in your contract. I told that person you will not be allowed to take money out of my account. That person informed me. yes we can you have a contact. I went ahead and canceled my card.I blocked them from taking any money out of my account. today and yesterday I received fronmotive from
Brian Tucker Head of Billing in my E-mail my payment didn't go through and to update my bank account. I informed them I already have a police report on them. they don't understand no is no a canceled is canceled. I was told it was a month to month not year after year. I'm getting ready to sue them for harassment and trying to take money from account.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! Do not sign up with this company for an ELD. They’re scammers, they will have you sign a contract that you have no idea about and will take funds out of your account with no notice. They will not notice you for contract renewals, they will renew your contract without your consent and will make you pay for it.

Reply from Motive
They are scammers. We sent an email in August of 2024 telling them we were not renewing. In January, they took over $800 from our account. When we explained they were have email evidence that we stated we weren't renewing, they said :too bad, see you next year." We filed a dispute with our bank, who found they had committed fraud, refunded our money and went after them for pay back. Now, they illegally sent it to collections and are claiming we owe them $8000. They call multiple times a day and hang up on us. We are filing a report with the BBB as well as getting a lawyer for the harassment.

Do not sign up. This company customer service does not exist. They have like 2 people outside of USA with American names to make you feel more comfortable that they do not do funny business. They get you in crazy contracts with crazy prices and services. My contract ended and instead of getting rid of the extra charges I have been asking to get remove for years they priced it higher and charged me more. They tell you they will have someone call you and never contact you again. I got proof of their funny business screenshots of false promises and not follow through.
Bad business

If I could give a 0 I would. This is the worst company you ever get. They try to hold me to the contact that has already expired and auto renewed a few times. They said I can't cancel no matter what lol. Yeah right, like they can force me to stay with them. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST.

These people are crooks and 9 times out of 10 you will need an interpreter just to communicate with them. Avoid at all costs. I’d give zero stars if I could.

Absolute worst. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS SERVICE. They make it so hard to cancel. Still charging me after not using the service for going on 2 years. Always say someone wil reach out. give you a case number but you never hear back. Always busy or closed. but the AI bot gives you a case number that never gets followed up on. TOTAL SCAM STAY AWAY
