We are a family business and have been selling art in Uppingham for over 40 years, specialising in 20th century and contemporary art and ceramics. With more than 50,000 items in stock and twelve rooms over two floors, there’s plenty to enjoy. We also make films, publish books and offer a quality framing service. The gallery has gained a name for itself across the country and beyond, and hosts a number of key exhibitions each year. Our phenomenal ceramics department includes work by world class potters from the UK, Japan, Korea, France, Denmark and the US. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, and our knowledgeable staff – who have access to a reference library of more than 5,000 art books – are exceptionally helpful.

This gallery strikes a clever balance of professionalism and informality with its clients. Exhibitions are thoughtfully staged to bring out the best in the works offered for sale, usually accompanied by catalogues of the highest quality in terms of text and visual appeal. Staff are knowledgeable, accommodating and responsive to on-line enquiries. We appreciate the added value of the quarterly magazine and the Goldmark TV programmes, which maintained our contact during lockdown. We always look forward to our next visit!

Excellent gallery for art and ceramics
My wife and I have been regular customers of the Goldmark Gallery for over 20 years, and have always found them to be extremely reliable. The Gallery holds an extensive stock of prints, paintings, sculpture and ceramics, as well as putting on regular exhibitions, making videos, and maintaining an excellent website. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We always feel that we can buy with confidence, whether “in store” or online. It is rare to find a Gallery of this quality outside of major cities.

Goldmark is a very special ‘shop’. When you buy a pot from the gallery you know it represents the very best that the potter has to offer. So much care goes into a Goldmark exhibition - from the beautifully photographed monographs to the insightful films about the potters, providing context and real appreciation of their craft. You get the impression that the gallery staff really care about the potters (and artists) that they represent and that comes through in their knowledge, expertise and understanding. From staging an exhibition to delivery of pieces of artwork to your home (and all the bits in between), Goldmark is the epitome of excellence.

Helpful staff and hot coffee
I had a lovely visit to Goldmark Gallery to purchase a birthday gift to myself. The staff are all friendly and helpful and you get offered a coffee on arrival! Came away with a beautiful platter by French potter Jean Nicolas Gérard. Thoroughly enjoyed by afternoon and will definitely go back.
