First week repair could not be contacted so I was discouraged but FAHW was able to reach them, set up date, he was prompt, so far things are good so I’m happy.

I called in because my clothes washer was not operating correctly. They made an appointment and spoke with a technician about what I was experiencing and he set up an order for the necessary parts. Once they arrived I called back and they came the next day to install them. My washer has been working well since

If I could give First American Home Warranty zero stars, I would. I truly wish I had never left American Home Shield.
One of my biggest frustrations is the significant limits First American places on major-ticket items like HVAC systems and pool heaters. Even worse has been the quality of the contractors they have sent.
If you’re in the Austin area, I would strongly reconsider using First American based on my experience. When my HVAC broke, it took roughly three weeks to address, and they sent contractors from San Antonio who ultimately created additional problems.
I was told I needed a new compressor. After it was installed, I discovered multiple issues: it wasn’t properly mounted or secured, the system did not have enough refrigerant, they didn’t have the proper materials to complete the welding, and a filter was not installed. The system still wasn’t working correctly after their repair.
After spending approximately $4,000, I finally had to call a reputable local HVAC company and spend another $800 correcting problems left behind from the warranty repair.
Now First American wants to send the SAME contractor back out—the contractor whose work had to be corrected in the first place.
Completely unacceptable. Not only has this been incredibly frustrating and expensive for me, but First American is costing itself more money by continuing to send contractors back who aren’t resolving the problem correctly the first time.
I would not recommend First American Home Warranty in the Austin area based on this experience.

This service is not worth having. I already have this service. Everytime I have needed service they always say sorry but we don’t have service in your area. You can find someone and we will reimburse you. Then the hassle you have to go through just to get reimburse. Why even deal with you all or pay you if I got to do the work? I called about my Dishwasher and they told me I needed to find someone. Found someone once they found out who we was going through. They left my Dishwasher and parts because they said they had problems with getting their pay from them several times. So I’m stuck with a dishwasher that doesn’t work.

Every time I need a service they send a very reputable company who accomplishes the problem.

First American Home Warranty has failed to provide a lasting repair or replacement for a covered garbage disposal despite approximately 6–7 technician visits from 3 different plumbing companies.
The disposal repeatedly jams and stops functioning. Each technician has simply reset or temporarily freed the unit, yet within about 2 days the same malfunction returns.
First American continues to refuse replacement, claiming its vendors report “no physical malfunction” because the unit operates after being reset. Yet I watch them use a TOOL to force the unit to turn, and yet claim there is "No physical malfunctions."
This is especially concerning because one First American representative previously told us the plumbers were NOT submitting reports back to the company.
We are now being told that all vendors allegedly reported the same conclusion. We request copies of all contractor reports, diagnoses, work orders, and internal claim notes.
First American is also now telling us that WE must hire our own plumber, at our own expense, to refute the conclusions of its contractors. This appears inconsistent with the contract, which provides for company-arranged second opinions and states that Service Provider work is warranted for 30 days.
The disposal is failing again within approximately 2 days of service.
The contract expressly covers garbage disposal parts and is a contract for repair or replacement of covered items.
A fair resolution would be immediate replacement of the repeatedly failing disposal at no additional cost.
Or a company-paid independent diagnosis and permanent repair. We also request that First American provide all contractor reports and identify the contract provision it believes requires us to pay for an outside plumber to challenge its own vendors.
Or Refund the Annual Contract Amount for Breach of Contract.

Contacted them several times this past week regarding a claim for my AC unit. They keep trying to send a plumber to do an AC job. Long story short, they don’t have any qualified companies who want to work for them… and the plumber assigned to the claim will not contact me back. No one answers the phone, ever… always goes straight to voicemail.
Further, First American is their name, but none of the employees speak English. Good luck!
… and then they have the nerve to ask me to renew my warranty for another year?! SMH
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME WITH THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY!!!

I used this outfit for their "premier" plan as I had an additional refrigerator in my garage. With this plan, my coverage said "additional refrigeration". Well, when I went to use their service to fix this additional fridge, they informed me that it was not covered. This was a surprise to me as I sent pictures and a model number to them when I started my contract. I asked for details about why it wasn't covered, and they said a letter was sent to me in the mail to explain it to me. 3 weeks later, and I am still waiting on this letter. I called today and waited on hold for 2 hours or so before I talked with someone. When I did reach someone, they promised me they would have a customer service person call me yet today to tell me the details of my denial. No call ever came. Just more of the unreliability related to this company.

The company was quick to respond to FA's request for service. The person I spoke to in the office to schedule the appointment was friendly and the plumber, Skyler was efficient, helpful and got the job done. He called to let us know his arrival time and was here when he said he would be.

Instant response to claim. Timely repair & notifications. Friendly, knowledgeable tech. Overall good service. More options should be offered for initial claims. Recording only offers limited choices.

You need more contractor that is able to do the job that you claim can be repaired, you tell people to find another contractor in your area that can do the job, and then you will reimbursement the owner back, but always comeback with an excuse for not paying the owner back, instead you pay about half what the contractor repair charge, when they can't tell watch is wrong until they dissemble, the part.
