Terrible

Terrible. I wish I could give negative stars. They canceled three consecutive appointments without explanation or apology and left me without a computer or access to my work and records. Shameful.

Where are the **** technicians???

Utterly incompetent. Bad communication. Unable to actually do what they say they would do.

Which is disappointing to say about Geeks on Site, because I remember going to their store in person with a faulty Switch, and they managed to fix the SD card reader. It eventually failed later due to old age I guess, but I remember trusting their experience over UBreakIFix and thought them to be reputable. Not anymore.

I scheduled an appointment back in Feb 26 2026, with the intention to deliver my PC tower and have them replace the graphics card inside with a stronger one (as the screw was set in too tight for me to unscrew, and DIY is risky even with online tutorials).

First, they were to show up on Monday, but couldn't get a hold of someone to come over in the afternoon (12 to 4 time frame). I had to call them at around 3, and they awkwardly admitted they had to reschedule. Then Thursday evening (4-8) they couldn't get a hold of someone to come over either.

Finally, on Friday, they called me in the morning, saying they would get in hold of a technician to come over in 15 minutes. I waited nearly half an hour before calling them up to ask what was taking so long. Customer service couldn't find my order details at first because of the rescheduling snafu, even though they charged me $149 a week prior.

$149 for a technician to show up and do their tinkering job for an hour, and they couldn't be bothered show up once all week. When I first called them, they tried pushing to 3 hours which I forgot how much more expenisve it was, but didn't feel it was necessary to do more than a part replacement. It was then and there I decided to cancel, since they've been giving me nothing but frustration.

I don't know what is going on over there, but Geeks on Site really needs to keep in touch better with their actual workers who are meant to help customers. 24-hour access to their call center doesn't mean much if the customer service keeps rotating workers who offer empty platitudes and half-baked promises. They can't even answer basic questions like where the hell are their technicians.

Quick and Honest Tech Help

I had a really good experience with Geeks Onsite. My laptop was slow and full of pop-ups, and the technician fixed everything quickly. He arrived on time, explained the issue clearly, and didn’t try to sell me anything extra.

The price was fair, and the service was professional. In my opinion, Geeks Onsite is one of the best tech support companies in the USA. I’d definitely use them again.

Laptop was not working and freezing up when loading

Geeks on Site (Order #140455, January 17, 2026)

I urgently needed my laptop repaired over the weekend and couldn’t find anyone available. Unfortunately, choosing Geeks on Site was a major mistake.

The technician they sent was polite, but completely unqualified for computer repairs — he openly admitted that he was only an installation technician. It became obvious when he started Googling “how to repair Dell laptop” right in front of me. I’m not a professional technician, but even I know enough about Dell systems to recognize when someone has no idea what they’re doing.

When I scheduled the appointment, I clearly explained all the troubleshooting steps I had already taken so the technician would be prepared. Despite that, the person they sent was untrained and unable to help in any way.

Afterward, I contacted Geeks on Site to request a refund under their so-called “guarantee.” They’ve completely ignored my calls and emails since.

My advice:

If you absolutely need someone to come to your home, demand an experienced computer repair technician, not an installer.
Do not waste money on their maintenance contract. You’re better off buying a can of compressed air from OfficeMax and cleaning your own keyboard and vents.
Keep your PC updated — Windows updates, drivers, firmware, and software — and you’ll save yourself a headache.
The only positive from this experience is that the technician referred me to a real repair shop that actually fixed my laptop properly.

Bottom line: Geeks on Site failed to provide competent service, ignored their guarantee, and wasted my time. I would not recommend them to anyone needing genuine technical support.

Stay away, don't trust.

Scheduled the installation of a TV and soundbar for today between 2pm and 4pm. They informed me I would be charged 50 dollars if I cancelled with no reschedule. They called a little after 2pm saying the installation would have to be rescheduled for tomorrow. Told them I would not be available and to cancel the whole thing. Warned them my next step was to contact my credit card company and block any unforeseen charges and process a request to have their installation fee refunded back to my account. They called later today and said I would be refunded 3 to 5 business days. Waiting for developments. They talk fast and avoid answering pointed questions. Please be careful.
