In 1928, two men shared a dream of providing a quality insurance product at a reasonable price. In the decades that followed we’ve grown and adapted to meet the changing needs of Americans. But one constant has remained: We have an unwavering commitment to uphold our founding ideals to provide industry-leading products and first-rate services to the customers we’re privileged to serve. Different Eras, Same Exceptional Service Farmers not only prides itself on helping you plan wisely for the unexpected, but also on helping restore order when it occurs, so you can keep moving along the road of your life’s plans. In 1959 a Farmers customer wrote us a letter of surprised gratitude when his car battery was replaced just an hour after it was stolen. A letter from a couple in 2002 wrote that their Farmers agent and Claims Adjuster “were exceptional in their handling of our grief, what we needed to do, and helpful in many other ways.” That same year, when Hurricane Rita struck Beaumont, Texas, Farmers sent 300 agents to assess damages while policy holders were evacuated. Farmers also donated $100,000 for the city’s emergency operations center and two megawatt generators that restored power to Beaumont. Whatever year or decade a disaster occurs, you can count on us to be there for you. Today, the companies comprising the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies make up one of the country's largest insurers of vehicles, homes and small businesses and provide a wide range of other insurance and financial services products. Farmers is proud to serve more than 10 million households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 21,000 employees. The Farmers Exchanges are three reciprocal insurers (Farmers Insurance Exchange, Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange) owned by their policyholders, and together with their subsidiaries and affiliates comprise the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies. Farmers Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries, in their capacity as attorneys-in-fact, provide administrative and management services to the Farmers Exchanges. Our Story Our story began with the simple goal of insuring the vehicles of rural farmers but as the world changed, so did we. Visit our timeline for a tour through the decades of Farmers.

The service with Farmers insurance…
The service with Farmers insurance company in Garland the one located on naaman forest school road is horrible. Brandon the guy that works there ran my business away. I went with another company for homeowners insurance. Run don’t walk. I had to take two Tylenol after dealing with him.
Irregular billing and cancelation processes
Canceled my policy via phone call (changed company with a broker); agent taking the call was courteous and helpful and canceled my policy without issue. Now, three months later I receive a debt collection letter for a bill that I was never notified of or received. I even checked my account after the cancelation to ensure it was canceled; there was not indication of an outstanding payment. They reasoning for the outstanding amount was "we bill after" so your due date (auto credit card processing) is - for some reason - in the middle of the cycle.
Screw this company
Screw this company. Greedy ass corporation. If they know you're going to make a claim after a disaster, they throw you under the bus by not renewing your policy anymore
Put in a claim after being with farmers…
Put in a claim after being with farmers for over four years and receive a call from billing before my claim agent calls me about my claim and thought it was funny that I have to make a payment before my due date four years guys come on I’m so done they can keep the claim all that money I put into them and they call me telling me I have a payment coming up and I have to pay it before they help me with my claim people be aware they up my payments didn’t notify me or anything and I was still paying but when it came time for them to pay I get someone that thinks it’s a joke.
Bad choice
I switched to farmers insurance and I wish I had never heard of them.
billing department doesnt fix issues
Staff does not get their billing act together. They do not fix issues despite calls over months. Also they doubled the cost of insurance without notifying me by mail. When I did get mail, it did not reflect the actual billing situation on other matters. I've had issues with them with both home insurance as well as car insurance (subsidiaries of farmers)
Car insurance
Too high of an amount to add a truck to an exisiting plan with no accidents!
MY CAR HAS BEEN HIT BY ONE OF FARMER…
MY CAR HAS BEEN HIT BY ONE OF FARMER INSURANCE POLICY HOLDER, I DELIVERED MY CAR TO THE BODY SHOP TO REPAIR, HOWEVER, THE CAR REPAIR TAKE MORE THAN THREE WEEKS AND STILL NO DONE YET DUE TO THE DELAY BY FARMER INSURACE SPECIALIST IS TOO BUSY AND NOT TO REPONSE THE BODY SHOP TECHNICIAN, TAYLOUR TIM FROM FARMER INSURANCE SAID THAT THEY CANNOT EXTEND THE RENTAL CAR EVEN MY CAR HAS NOT FINISHED THE REPAIR.
I THINK THEY SHOULD HIRE MORE STAFF TO REPONSE ANY ISSUE ON TIME INSTEAD OF PENALIST US AS THE VICTIM OF THE ACCIDENT.

Rate increases
It's renewal time and saw that my auto insurance went up by nearly 65% and home insurance up by nearly 55% even though I haven't had any type of claim in many, many years, and have had a clear driving record for decades. Agents claim the increase is due to inflation. I may not have my information correct but I don't believe that during the past year inflation has gone up by 65% or anywhere near 55%. Shame on you Farmer's and other longstanding insurance companies. Maybe if you spent less on ridiculous commercials it would be possible to charge more reasonable rates.
Lies
We had Farmers for 18 years and had no claims. on 11/21/2023 we had a garage fire. We called Farmers and they came out and investigated. They said because we have a business they wouldn't cover anything. Meanwhile when the agent came out to take pictures i said we have a business and he said yes i can see that, I then asked him will they still cover everything? he said YES However they did not. I would NOT EVER refer them to anyone.
Farmers Cancels California Policies
After doing business with Farmer's Insurance for several years. They decide to cancel all policies in California. I would never do business with them again.
After reading other comments on here about Farmer's Insurance, they have also canceled polices in other states as well. I hope they end up going out of business.
Awful experience
Awful experience!
I've been a customer for over a decade. I had an accident, I was not at fault, I went through the insurance of the other driver. After I settled, I called Farmers to cancel coverage. They canceled my policy, now I can't get insurance on a new vehicle because I have a lapse in coverage. Their call center is in India now, they barely speak English, don't understand their policies and the connection is poor and it's hard to hear anything but static.
Terrible company, doesn’t pay fair claims
Terrible company. They have no problem taking your money, but don’t want to pay out when you need them. Customer service has no interest in helping, but only to save the company and pay out as little as possible.
The kitchen of our house flooded
The kitchen of our house flooded, and we filed a claim with Farmers Insurance. They gave us a thousand excuses and did not cover us at all. And then the claim remained in our records as if they covered everything, After having paid expensive insurance with them for years.
Tamara Sult was the adjuster for our case, and she looked for any excuse not to cover the damages, recording it in our records as if they had.
This is something that everyone should know before anyone makes a decision and understand this company's practices.
Cancelled before hurrican season
Run, they are the biggest SCAM I've encountered in the insurance industry. They have a track record of cancelling homeowners in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and the Carolinas just before hurricane season. The are COMPLETE crooks.
Toggle worst auto insurance
Without my knowledge or consent, I was switched to Toggle from 21st Century Insurance in January 2024. Since then, all efforts to change my policy (add/remove a vehicle) online have failed. My new insurance cards don't have a phone number for roadside assistance; that process has to start online. In February, I tried to cancel my policy online twice. Next, I tried canceling via live chat once.
Lastly, I tried canceling by phone three times. During the first call, I was told to call back because all lines were busy. The last two calls kept me on hold for over an hour before talking to a representative. Both representatives (weeks apart) told me that there's an IT issue preventing my policy cancellation—an issue that has apparently lasted for weeks. In 50 years of insured driving, I have never had a problem with an insurance company until Toggle. Based on the extreme difficulty I've had trying to get things done with Toggle, I really think that they don't want my business, or they want out of the auto insurance business. Yet they won't cancel my policy. Since the policy was paid in full, this delay (going on a month now) is eating away at my refund, which I had hoped to apply to my new insurance.
Toggle provides extremely bad service, and they won't let you leave.
This is honestly the worst insurance…
This is honestly the worst insurance company I ever dealt with. I was a customer of theirs for only two weeks because it was a complete disaster in those two weeks. I signed up with Jacob Chopa Who did not add the correct coverages and when I contacted him he told me he would call me back by the end of the day he never did so for the next three days I called and emailed but he completely ignored me. I then spent the next two weeks talking to customer service reps who each time assured me everything would be fine. They told me they took my payment and that I was all paid in full yet the money was still in my bank account. The final straw is when one of the Farmers agents called me back and then I guess they thought they put me on hold but didn’t. I proceeded to hear him whispering with some female and she said oh no, don’t tell her that and they were talking about my account until finally I said excuse me you know I can hear you right? As soon as I said that they hung up the phone! I called back and cancelled!
No longer blinded
I had been a Farmers customer for years and always loved how personal and great the customer service was, but lately have been struggling with this company. Upon renewal my policy shot up a most ridiculous amount. I missed it the first two times, but later discovered they were charging me $400 more for another driver on my policy! I had not agreed to this, nor knew who this person was. Once I renewed my policy, they agreed to then remove the other driver. With this person and their cost removed my policy was still a couple hundred too much. In conclusion, loyalty gets you nowhere. Every 6 months the cost rises a few hundred dollars more despite filing no claims, no tickets etc. all the while they say it's due to inflation and so many more statewide accidents. Guess their customers will be dishing out another couple hundred more, because I won't be contributing to the pool any longer.
Great company and service!
I recently had an outstanding experience with Farmers Insurance that truly exceeded my expectations. From the onset, their customer service was impeccable - friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to assist. When I faced an unexpected issue, their response was prompt and efficient, ensuring a smooth resolution that left me thoroughly impressed. The comprehensive coverage options they offered were tailored perfectly to my needs, providing peace of mind and excellent value for money. Moreover, the ease and clarity of their claims process stood out as a highlight, making what is often a stressful situation remarkably hassle-free. Overall, Farmers Insurance has proven to be a reliable and customer-focused provider, deserving of the highest recommendation for anyone seeking quality insurance services.
