Eargo 8’s, definitely worth it

3rd set of of Eargo’s, and the best yet. I am very pleased with my Eargo 8’s. Excellent sound quality, the battery lasted me from 6 AM to 10:30 at night. Amazing battery life. Again, can’t say enough about the sound quality. No tinny sound. Adjustability is so much improved. Thanks Eargo

Easy to use, functional app, great customer support

I’ve been using the new Eargo 8s for over a month and overall, I think they’re working well. I’m especially impressed with the app—it’s intuitive and makes fine-tuning easy.

Watching TV is still a bit of a challenge when the volume is low, though I suspect part of the issue is the sound quality of newer TVs with rear-facing speakers. I’m hoping to try them soon with a soundbar to see if that helps.

The other listening modes have performed very well. Compared to the Neo HiFi, the Eargo 8s offer much more flexibility in adjusting sound and volume, which is a big plus. Customer service and the orientation session were also helpful and included some useful tips. The tutorial videos have been informative with clear demonstrations.

One feature I do wish the Eargo 8s had is Bluetooth streaming for calls and music. I often wear earbuds at the gym or while walking, so I have to remove the Eargos when using those. I’m still figuring out the best way to use my phone with them—I’m not a fan of speakerphone, so I’ve been holding the phone slightly away from my ear to reduce feedback or whistling.

The listed price for the Eargo 8s is high for OTC hearing aids, but if you have decent insurance coverage the price can be offset a bit. That said, they are still more affordable than most prescription options.

Upgrading from Eargo 7 to Eargo 8

Having had Eargo 7's, it was a no brainer to upgrade to Eargo 8. Not only is it a great product, the customer service was excellent during the period I had my Eargo 7's. While the 7's were great, the 8's are even better, Both the fit and sound quality are excellent. And the charging life for both the devices and charger has significantly improved.

So happy!

I cannot say how extremely pleased I am with my new Eargo 8's. It's like I am finally "normal" again! I am only in my 40's and have known for at least 7 or 8 years that I have 50% hearing loss at low volumes. I suspect I have had hearing loss for longer than that though. For far too long I just accepted I had hearing loss and couldn't participate in certain conversations. There were so many times when I would just give up and nod my head instead of asking people to constantly repeat themselves. I just felt I was too young to have to wear hearing aids and there was some societal stigma as well. These hearing aids have completely changed all that. They are comfortable and discrete and easy to use. There are times I completely forget I am wearing them-that's how comfortable they are. I also like that I do not hear my own voice in my head (whatever the term for that is) when I speak. That was a major downfall of the other brand I had tried. The 45 day trial offer combined with the option of financing is what eventually sold me on the product in the first place. There literally was no reason not to try them. The customer service is fantastic and the app is easy to use. The videos within the app are helpful as well and the charger now has a whole month worth of charging capacity. I wish I had known about this brand a long time ago!

In less than a year both hearing aids had lost most of the battery power

In less than a year both hearing aids would only work for 6 to 8 hours. Not the 16 hours they claim. Both RH and LH were replaced and still did it again within the year. And the string to pull it out of your ear broke off within the year of getting the second pair. And while it amplified the sound, it was still difficult to here in a restaurant or area with lot of people. for the cost I cannot recommend this product.

Recent purchase of Eargo 8 hearing devices

I recently purchase a set of Eargo 8 hearing devices after using Eargo 6s for a few years. I’m very impressed with the Eargo 8 devices. The trumpet design is far superior to the older ear tips. They are much more comfortable and stay in the ears better. Most times I don’t even realize I’m wearing them.

And Iove the new charger – it has much longer battery life and the inductive charging is a great feature.

Overall, the hearing quality is very good and it’s much easier to wear them all day.

Eargo 8 is great!

I’m about halfway through a 45-day trial of Eargo 8 hearing aids and have decided to keep them! Why? Many reasons. For one, customer service is extraordinary; whether you email or call them, they are responsive and professional. Secondly, the documentation and instructional videos are outstanding. I’m a retired technical writer and rarely do I see such clear documentation on what would otherwise be a complex, difficult subject to explain. Finally, the hearing aids themselves are comparable in sound and quality to a $6,000 behind-the-ear set I *almost* purchased from a local hearing aid center. I’m so glad I decided to try Eargo instead!

Regarding the sound, I did Sound Match on the Eargo app several times, settled on the one that seemed the best, subsequently kicked up the volume, treble, and bass a bit, and am absolutely loving what I hear. The other evening I stood outside simply marveling at the sounds of crickets and cicadas; I’d not heard anything like that beautiful chorus in a long time.

As for fit, I have one ear tip (aka “tulip”) in size Medium in my left ear and one ear tip in size Small in my right, because apparently my ear canals are not identical, which is ok. I realized I had to use two different tulip sizes when I noticed one was working its way out of my ear whenever I ate. As for comfort, I by far prefer these to the over-the-ear style of hearing aid I tested previously, which constantly interfered with the frame of my glasses and even slipped and moved when I was active. A hearing aid in the ear canal does take some adjustment, but I was fine with them after just two days!

Now for a few comments, not deal breakers by any means but something I feel compelled to pass on because I had some difficulty in these two areas…

1. How do I transfer changes I made on the Eargo phone app to the hearing aids? If you use a gear icon in the phone app to tailor a program’s volume, treble, or bass and want to save the settings:

• Be near the charger with your phone and turn on the phone’s Bluetooth (if not already on) to connect to the charger.
• When connected to the charger, select Program Sync in the app.
• When prompted to do so, place both hearing aids into the charger and wait for the sync to complete.

Voila! Once the sync is complete, you have successfully transferred the settings in the Eargo app to your Eargo hearing aids. I love that the changes “stick” and don’t revert to some unwanted default setting later.

2. At what level is my volume (or treble, or bass) setting? At present, there is no way to visually SEE a volume, treble, or bass setting on the phone app.
Instead, you must press the + button to go up (the word “max” is audible at the top) and the – button to go down (the word “min” is audible at the bottom).

This drives me a bit crazy, so I’ve learned to count “min” as level 1, then 2, 3, 4, and “max” as level 5. You can practice this by going up and down the scale, counting “1 (min), 2, 3, 4, 5 (max)” and “5 (max), 4, 3, 2, 1 (min)” until you get the hang of it.

Overall, I highly recommend Eargo 8 if you’re reasonably tech savvy, like to experiment a bit, and want to better hear people, music, phone conversations, and tv without straining. As a nature lover, I especially enjoy hearing bird calls, the wind blowing through the Autumn leaves, dogs barking in the distance…and my cat’s purrs. It’s a beautiful world. Enjoy!

Eargo 8 checked all the boxes

The size is what I was looking for. Most people don't know I am wearing hearing aids. They go all day on a charge, I have yet to have them run out of battery. Also the customer service was great. I bought mine through Soundly, I was having some trouble adjusting them the Soundly rep was very helpful. But there was a problem she couldn't fix. She reached out to Eargo and they contacted me and sorted my adjustment problem quickly.
My experience with the Eargo 8 has been great. I did another of research before I picked these, glad I did.

New Eargo 8 OTC Hearing Aids

The new Eargo 8 OTC hearing aids are definitely worth the upgrade. I had been using Eargo 7’s. The battery now lasts 16 hours and they are nearly invisible and very comfortable in the hear. I also think the sound quality has improved. You cannot go wrong with Eargo 8 hearing aids.

I hated my Jabra Pro 30

I purchased the Jabra Pro 30 hearing aids about 3 months ago. From day 1 I had problems with them with heavy static, one ear cutting out or not charging. Customer Service was hard to reach or not at all. In short, I returned them and ordered the EARGO8.
I am thrilled with the results so far and the customer service is A#1.

Comfort And Sound Quality

I have owned Eargo hearing aids since December of 2019 (presently using the Eargo SE series), and I would not use any other device. Prior to purchasing my original Eargo Hi-Fi Neo and subsequently deciding to update to the SE Model, I spent hours researching and testing other top-rated brands. However, none provided the sound quality of Eargo. I will continue to use Eargo hearing aids in the future.

The end of selective hearing!

Replaced an expensive behind the ear set with the Eargo 8 in the ear. The difference is absolutely amazing in providing conversation focus and clarity. Battery life is outstanding, and the little puck for charging is so small that one could carry it in their pocket. I never realized how strenuous it was to follow a conversation in a restaurant, the noise cancelation is brilliant and the preprogrammed scenarios fit well with my life. My spouse no longer has to repeat her questions or topics, family gatherings are now delightful. I can no longer claim selective earing as the Eargo 8 is so good at helping me focus on the conversation. In summary great battery life, all day easily, High Fidelity sound, invisible, simple app to control, rechargeable, no little batteries to fumble with, stress free hearing, superb noise isolation.

I recently purchased Eargo 8

I recently purchased Eargo 8. A few years ago, I had purchased Eargo 6 and I must say that there is a very noticeable difference between the two. The sound quality from Eargo 8 is terrific. I'm a pianist, and a piano teacher. I rely on hearing the full range of sound from the piano. The high notes were dropping off and although I could still hear them, I had lost the vibrant sound that normal hearing delivers. Eargo 6 was an improvement, but the newest model is excellent and it delivers superior sound quality. Another thing I love about them is how invisible they are. I teach a lot of young kids and I don't want them commenting on my hearing aids. With Eargo, no one even knows they are in my ears. They are not inexpensive, though they do cost about half of what you would pay for typical hearing aids from a hearing aid store. My experience with Eargo customer service has always been great. Eargo8 my first experience

The Eargo8 hearing aids I recently purchased have opened a new world of hearing for me.
Like many others, I did not feel like I needed hearing aids but decided it was time to give it a try.
My biggest concern was that a completely in the canal (CIC) was going to feel like I was wearing
earplugs but that was not the case. After trying all the sizes of trumpets, small worked best for me and
are very comfortable. I did not feel like I was wearing earplugs as I feared. As I continued to wear them each day
they became more comfortable to the point that at times I did not even notice and had to check if they
were still in my ears as I thought they may have fallen out.

The phone app has a lot of settings that allow you to adjust the Eargos to your listening environment and I found
it easy to use. With patience and some trial and error you can pre-set your Eargos to optimal performance in
different situations and change the program as needed.

The support staff is A#1 and extremely helpful should you need assistance. I recieved emails each day with reminders
and tips to help me get familiar and how to best use the Eargos. The pre-recorded online videos are great and the live
webinar that is offered helps when you first get your Eargos. If after you try your Eargos you have futher questions
they offer a one on one personal telephone call to address any concerns which I also took advantage of and was very helpful.

Anyone interested in a high quality hearing device that meets the standards of a doctor prescribed hearing aid would do well
to give the Eargo8 a try.

Impeccable customer service

I got the Eargo 8s and they've been performing better than custom-made devices that cost 3x as much. However, the customer service was what stuck out. When I was trying to find out about options from Eargo before I bought them, I had a representative call me to help me choose the right one for me. Jolene was my representative, and she spent a lot of time to make sure I got the right ones for me, and helping me adjust any settings once I got my Eargo 8s. Also, Todd (who I believe is an audiologist) gave me a call when I notified Eargo that the originally capable settings were slightly off-target for me. He helped to adjust them to the perfect settings. This customer service was truly outstanding

I purchased the Eargo eight

I purchased the Eargo eight. Honestly, I was thinking I would return them because I was on the fence about really needing hearing aids yet. The moment I put them on I realized what I was missing. I can clearly hear everybody in a board meeting now without having to have people repeat themselves or pretend that I’m listening to what they’re saying. The best bonus is I’ve been wearing them for over a month and not one person has noticed. I’ve told not a soul not even my family. No one has noticed. They are comfortable, easy to use, discrete, and they actually work. Highly recommend.
