Hopeless service. Scanning chip didn't work after uploading passport. Gave correct verification details and told they are incorrect. What a waste of time.

HAD A LICENCE FOR 20 YEARS, TRIED TO RENEW ONLINE WOULDN'T ACCEPT MY ID! WENT TO WYLDE GREEN PO DONR DO IT,WENT TO ERDINGTON PO DONT DO IT, WENT TO SUTTON COLDFIELD PO AFTER ALOT OF FAFFING WITH THE IPAD ITS DONE,ABSOLUTELY ABYSMAL SERVICE ALL ROUND. AND HAVING TO PAY EXTRA FOR PHOTO DISGRACE.

My apprentice waited nearly a year to get his licence back and lost his job because of it.
He took his own life.
My daughter now has applied for her driving license for over 4m, get forms at stages, no updates, just shocking.
She had epilepsy 7yrs ago, because of this has stalled her application.
Again no feedback, have to chase licence, absolutely shocking service.

An hour of my life I will never see again, and it didnt work. Crap system as usual

£88 for something that is free I thought I was dealing with DVLA daylight robbery it would take you 2 minutes to transfer my information

Originally tried to renew via the Post Office, but this was rejected as DVLA didn"t like the photo. Unfortunately I then tried to do this online. Apparently name, address, date of birth,national insurance number, passport number, driving licence number, phone number, e mail address and various pass codes were not sufficient to verify my identity. I only want to change my photo as per DVLA requirements. At a complete loss, one star is far too generous.

Applied for my license which took time but went ok, they took my money out asap, I got a bank statement a month later and they have gone into my bank and took it again… I will be going into see my bank as soon as it opens..

Scammed. Paid £39 for change of address on my drivers licence. I mistook the site for the official one as it was top of Google results, yet it seemed I was n the official gov site. A month later they removed another £39 from my account! Asked for refund - no response. Reported the fraud/scam to police and bank fraud team. No action possible! THIEVES. AVOID.

UK Passport. NI number. Existing Driver Licence number. Lived in same place of over 10 years. No special requirements for licence renewal.
If the system cannot verify something as straightforward as this then what's the point?
Complete waste of time

Pathetic service. They have my license and passport and NI number. Verified adresss, telephone No, email address, all verified by sending codes. Asked how long ive lived at my address (10 years). Says they can't verify my identity, so I need to pay 33% more at a post office and hope they accept it. Now wait for the pathetic standard reply to every disgruntled customer. See below.

I renewed my driving licence online, after setting up a Driver and Vehicle account. Then my husband tried. To begin with (as we share the same email address) it kept bringing up my details, even though I had logged out of the account. He then tried with another email address and once the home address was confirmed it brought up my details again - including my passport photo. Absolute rubbish website, does not allow for the possibility that two married people, living at the same property, wish to renew their licence at the same time.

Really poor service renewed mu licence then my wife tried and keeps on saying unable to renew when trying to create account. Why do government websites always create challenges nothing is easy this should be the simplest thing to do. Makes it even harder when giving no explanation on why.

would not recognize licence numbers

Helped my partner to renew her DL. She had tried about 4 times and every time her details wasn't recognised! It's a BETA site so problems are expected but, come on! This is a government website and only left both of us frustrated as neither of us could renew after 5 attempts now. Four on a mobile and once on a laptop. Now this is meant to be a simple and easy process but it's not! My partner now has to wait for a paper form D1 from DVLA so lets hope this will work as opposed to the website.

I forgot my password so went through the renewal process and the system does not remember or rest the password, i have now tried 5 different passwords all within the guidelines shown and still it does not change the password what is this ....................

Shocking how backwards this online process is, I don't understand how new passports are not being recognised online and the process is not simple at all.
I was advised by customer services to complete a form that was sent to my house. I was advised that I'd need to get a photo done too. This process did not work, I was then advised by customer service that I'll need to go into the post office and I can use the photo that I've already had taken for this renewal. Got to the post office and I had to take another photo an additional cost to what I've already spent and on top of that I was not expecting to take a photo and had to make do with what ever the post office had taken.

This experience cost me time and in total £30. You'll have a lot of people driving without valid licence as your process is not streamlined.

There should be a ‘no’ stars option. Many frustrated attempts to renew on-line met with ‘unable to confirm ID’. Yes, the entry details were correct, and yes my passport is valid (renewed Sept). Impossible to talk to anyone in support. Eventually discovered the system will not accept new passport signatures, something the DVLA have known for some time. Why isn’t this made clear on the DVLA website?

CONTACTED bank froze account immediately and waiting for deduction to be put back...
MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING. GOV WEBSITES IN FUTURE...

Not honest and upfront with the service.
I honestly thought I was dealing with the gov website (longtime sconce my driving license application).
They take £89 every 90 days for nothing. I did not ask for their service and they do not let you know they will be taking it either so you could cancel after realising they are legally scamming you for money for nothing.
Stay away. I request a refund but I still waiting. £89 in these times is a lot of money to be taken twice.
