Deceitful company

Deceitful company - I signed up for a free trial in July 2025 after which I selected the monthly service (I did not commit to an annual contract). I used the service only a couple of times in 2025. In August 2026 I discovered that I was still being charged monthly for the subscription and when I attempted to cancel it, I got a message that I have an annual commitment to use the service until August 2027 - so technically I will have to pay for the service for another year. This is very deceitful - first of all, I never committed to an annual contract and second, I never renewed any commitment for another year.

I tried to get support and got a chatbot that I can't cancel for another year and I need to reach out to customer support via email.

All of these other reviews are a big cause for concern.

Hi Sergey — thank you for taking the time to write this, and I'm sorry it ended on a sour note.

A bit of context on the plan itself: the one you're on is Starter, billed monthly on an annual term — $31.20/month instead of our standard $39.00/month, with the lower rate in exchange for a 12-month commitment.

It's an optional plan rather than our default, and the term renewed in July because it wasn't cancelled before the anniversary date.

We've since retired that plan for new customers, precisely because the commitment tripped people up more often than the discount was worth.

Unscrupulous merchant practicing nasty billing techniques! Avoid Docuclipper at all costs! They trick you into 12 months billing - then falsely say they cancelled your account after billing you 12 months and RENEW & LOCK you for ANOTHER 12 months - with NO option to remove your credit card from their platform. I've spent hours on their chat and in emails and still getting pirated!

Hi Isabel — thank you for the feedback, and I'm sorry the experience fell short of what you expected.

For context: it sounds like you were on our annual plan billed monthly. That's a discounted rate offered in exchange for a 12-month term, paid in monthly installments rather than a single upfront charge. The discount and the term are two halves of the same plan, and it's selected at checkout rather than applied by us. We've since retired that plan for new customers.

We've shared the rest of your feedback with the team.

Scammed for 15 months by docuclipper

Docuclipper has been scamming me for over a year. They made it impossible to login to my account, when I did it showed I didn’t have a membership. After a year and 3 months I was finally able to cancel my membership, I’m currently talking to my bank about reversing those charges. I have screen shots of it all, do not trust docuclipper. Honestly ai does it all for free. Terrible business!!!!

Do not sign up for this

Do not sign up for this. Their website will show one price, they will try and bill you for the annual price and IF you can negotiate them to refund it back to you, they will then enroll you into the monthly price at a higher price than what is listed on the website. Also, as many noted there is no way to cancel this service online unless you contact customer service which is hit or miss. There is better services out there that is not nearly as shady! I had to go through my bank to be refunded! Stay away from this unethical company!

We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.

For clarity, our pricing is displayed throughout the signup process, including the billing frequency and total amount due before any payment is submitted. Customers are charged only for the plan they select.

We'd also like to clarify that subscriptions can be canceled at any time directly from the account settings page without contacting customer support.

We take customer feedback seriously and continuously work to make our billing and account management processes as transparent and straightforward as possible.

We understand that subscription renewals can sometimes be overlooked, but characterizing the service as a scam is simply not accurate. We provide a legitimate service used by thousands of customers, with transparent billing terms presented during signup and renewal.

Do not sign up for this service

Do not sign up for this service. There is no way to cancel online and there are automated email responces and dodging the cancelation. Automated responce stating you are on a 12 month discounted yearly plan. I have gone past the 12 month commitment and thy still will not cancel. If you want to cancel you wll have to dispute the charges with credit card company. Their website will not allow you to remove billing card info. Very poor businees practices. The service works but impossible to cancel.

Docuclipper converter software, not a good company

I used Docuclipper a year ago to convert PDFs to CSV files. It worked "decent" at the time and you could manually scan the page to make things work. A year later I tried Docuclipper again. I was charged to reactivate my account and charged to use the service again. With their new "update" nothing worked. I could not scan PDF files and ever time I logged in, I had an "Error Code". Customer service tried to fix the issues but failed. They would not give me a refund. They said they would only give me credit for a future service. That gave me a good laugh for a failed product. I do not recommend them, they will steal your money. So now I've been charged 3 times with no success for anything. Great scam business.

I URGE YOU NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

I URGE YOU NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

Needed bank statements converted to excel for bookkeeping. Signed up for their free trial, didn’t do anything. It Said I needed a premium plan to use it.

Signed up for what I thought was a monthly plan. It was a 12-month commitment, billed monthly. Cancelled immediately after seeing a second charge.

Credit card is maxed out or else I wouldn’t have noticed they were attempting to charge my card again. Emailed support several times and they keep responding to let us know if we can help with the remainder of your 12 month plan.

No solution. No acknowledgment or goodwill to help their users.

Thanks for your feedback — I’m sorry to hear about your experience.

I do want to clarify one important point. The plan you signed up for was an annual commitment billed monthly. This was clearly stated at the time of signup, but we understand that this type of billing structure can sometimes be confusing.

Because of situations like this, we’ve actually retired these plans and no longer offer annual commitments billed monthly. We’ve moved to simpler pricing to avoid exactly this kind of misunderstanding.

That said, we’re not trying to create a bad experience for anyone. If you’re still within the early stage of the plan, feel free to reply to our support team and we’ll take another look at your case to see what we can do.

Illegal proceedings

I was charged £27.30 every month for five months without my knowledge or consent. When I log into my DocuClipper account, it clearly states I have no active plan — yet the payments kept being taken. I received no invoices, no confirmation emails, and no correspondence of any kind until a payment finally bounced.

When I contacted support, I was passed between two agents over several days. The first told me I was on a 12-month commitment I never agreed to. The second said the charges weren’t linked to my account and asked me to search my own emails to find the source — despite the failed payment notification being sent to the very same email address. At no point did anyone offer to search their own billing system to resolve the issue or offer a refund.

I cancelled my month-to-month…

I cancelled my month-to-month subscription on July 21, 2025. An audit of my bank account showed this company continued to charge monthly subcription fee through March 2026. I contacted customer support and provided a copy of the cancellation email along with a screenshot that showed a 'reactivation' button for my subscription. My customer support emails have been ignored. This is a warning for any potentional customer. If you purchase an online subscription from a service provider like "DocuClipper" that doesn't have a live customer support or corporate phone number, this is what will happen to you.

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing your concerns. We want to clarify a few things for anyone reading this.

DocuClipper offers multiple billing options:
• Monthly plan (billed month-to-month)
• Annual plan paid upfront
• Annual plan billed monthly (a yearly commitment paid in monthly installments)

If someone is on an annual plan billed monthly, cancelling stops the subscription from renewing for the next year, but the remaining monthly installments continue until the end of the annual term. This often causes confusion because the billing looks “monthly,” even though it is part of a yearly plan.

Regarding support, we do respond to customer emails and aim to do so within one business day. If any message was missed, that’s not the experience we want anyone to have.

Please email support@docuclipper.com
with your account email so we can review your billing history and cancellation details and make sure everything was handled correctly. We’re always happy to help resolve any issues.

PREDATORY BILLING & ZERO CUSTOMER SUPPORT - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

If zero stars were an option, I would give it. This company is a nightmare. I only discovered recently that they have been charging me for TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS ($327.60 in 2025 and 2026) without my authorization.
Here is their fraudulent pattern:
No Transparency: After the trial period ended, they sent ZERO notification emails about the upcoming charges.
Trap by Design: Their system is designed so you cannot remove your own credit card information or cancel easily. It’s a classic "dark pattern" trap.
Security Bypass: Even after I replaced my credit card, they somehow bypassed security to charge my new card for the 2026 fee.
Evasive Support: When I reached out, their support refused to address the issue. The manager only provided "official/robotic" responses that did nothing to resolve the theft. They only showed interest in "resolving" the issue AFTER they realized I had filed a fraud claim with my bank.
I have already filed formal complaints with the CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) and reported their predatory billing practices to the authorities. With a 1.8-star rating, it is obvious that DocuClipper thrives on stealing money from unsuspecting users. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CARD INFO.
UPDATE (March 16, 2026): > The merchant's reply is misleading. I attempted to contact the phone number provided on the billing statement—it is non-functional.

My actual usage in 2025 was only 24 pages, yet I was charged $655.20 over two years due to their failure to provide the legally required pre-renewal notifications (violating ROSCA).

I have officially filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regarding these deceptive practices. FTC Report Number: 199053096. American Express is currently investigating this as unauthorized billing. If you are a victim of their "hidden" renewal system, report them to the FTC immediately.

Hello Emma,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience, but several statements in this review are not accurate.

DocuClipper subscriptions can be cancelled at any time from the account settings page, and customers can also request cancellation by emailing our support team. Once a subscription is cancelled, it will not renew. We also respond to all support inquiries and aim to resolve billing concerns promptly.

Regarding billing notifications, subscriptions renew according to the plan selected at signup. If there is ever a billing question or a concern about an unexpected charge, we encourage customers to contact us directly so we can review the account and resolve the issue.

HORRIBLE!!

HORRIBLE!!! Scam!!! DO NOT GIVE THESE CRIMINALS YOUR INFORMATION!!!! I tried the free trial August of 2024 was charged over $300 dollars and I never even was able to use this bull$hit service. It was a scam from the start. So I cancelled. I realized in March of 2025 that they were still charging me monthly without sending any receipts, letters, emails Anything. So I cancelled my service in March of 2025( I have the emails confirming they cancelled my service) they continued to charge me monthly and their email response was that when I cancelled they will still charge me for a year and there isn’t anything I can do about it! There is no phone number for this scam factory. I reported them to the credit bureau and my credit card company I pray they receive what they deserve for robbing people

Hi Steve,

We’re sorry you feel this way, and we want to clarify what happened.

You selected our annual plan billed monthly, which provides a discounted rate in exchange for a 12-month commitment. This option is clearly presented during signup.

With this plan:

• You receive the discounted annual price
• You are committed for 12 months
• You retain full access to your account for the entire year

When you requested cancellation in March 2025, your subscription was set not to renew after the 12-month term. However, because the plan includes a 12-month commitment at a discounted rate, the remaining monthly installments continued as agreed.

You were not being charged for an inactive or inaccessible account — your account remained fully available for use during the full term.

We do not operate as a scam and do not charge customers without disclosure. Billing receipts are automatically generated for every payment and are accessible within the account.

If you would like us to review your specific situation again, we’re happy to do so. Please contact our support team directly at support@docuclipper.com, and we’ll make sure everything is reviewed thoroughly.

Issues with software and customer service

My husband found this software platform for accounting purposes. I thought it was user friendly for uploading bank statements for categorizing and it's putting in itself for my accountant. I can not even get anything done. They reset my account twice it stand stuck in trial even though I paid for the subscription about $300. Wasted two week I just going old school and doing excel myself. It looked so promising, but I can deal with AI BOTS and Emails back and forth need a real customer service support phone with a real person answering calls. I refuse to do business with a company that doesn't have the proper trained employees human, that can problem solve.

We’re genuinely sorry this was your experience — that’s not the standard we aim for.

To clarify, we do have a real human support team. While we don’t offer phone support, every support request is handled by trained specialists — not AI bots. If your account remained stuck in trial after you paid, that is absolutely something we should have resolved immediately.

Two weeks is far too long to deal with an activation or billing issue, and we completely understand how frustrating that must have been — especially when you were trying to prepare information for your accountant.

We would truly appreciate the opportunity to fix this properly.

Don’t use this company

Don’t use this company. It’s a scam. I signed up for the free trial and the very same day, they charged my credit card over $300 for a year subscription that I didn’t sign up for. I immediately cancelled and when I disputed the matter, they told me that they would cancel the subscription and give me a partial refund. They somehow resigned me up for a monthly subscription which again I did not consent to. I just got an email from them now basically saying that the matter was closed and that i was outside of the trial window. The trial that I already cancelled. Don’t give these crooks your card information. Their software didn’t even work anyways.

We take accusations like this very seriously and want to clarify how our system works.

Our free trial does not require a credit card. You can test the software without entering any payment information.

Charges only occur after a user actively selects a paid subscription plan and enters billing details. We do not automatically charge annual plans without that explicit step.

Once a paid subscription is activated, it is non-refundable as outlined in our terms at checkout. That said, we do review billing concerns on a case-by-case basis when there is genuine confusion.

We also do not “re-sign” users up for subscriptions without consent. Any subscription activation or change requires a user action and generates a timestamped record.

If you believe there was an error, we’re happy to review your specific account history and provide a full billing breakdown.

This software is absolute trash. False advertising!!! They advertise connectors and functionality that do not work. they provide a free trial but for the me to actually see if it works on the first run it used up the free trial and they charged me $219 only to see that the main functionality, which is the reason why I chose the company don’t even work. After contacting customer service, which took over 24 hours to get back to me their response was those features are not working at this time. I requested to cancel and their response says we don’t give refunds. Total trash scam company with horrible customer service false advertising, and lacking, basic accurate function.
