They offer a free plan for content creators on YouTube, but when you apply, they refuse and push you to buy their paid plan:
YouTube is eligible for "Free Discourse Communities For Creators" based on their own webpage called "Free Discourse Communities For Creators", section: "Eligibility Criteria".
But they reply with this:
"Thanks for applying, but I’m afraid your project does not qualify for our free hosting program, which is limited to active Open Source Software projects and Crowdfunded or Creator projects."
They are clearly playing a game here and trick content creators to pay.
Love how well it runs and that it's open source. I have Discourse installed on a VPS that meets the minimum requirements. To my surprise it runs great. Really enjoying all the plugins also, such as the one to notify people on Discord when thread made. Great job guys, appreciate it.
Not worth it. Very old, hard to setup, and requires strong servers to run properly.
