Technician needs re-trained & Mgmt needs customer service training

The worst part of my service was having the low tire light come on after having 4-new tires put on my car. Got home and checked tire pressure, back tires were at 38psi, front were at 34psi. Tires/vehicle calls for 30psi. The tires should have been at an accurate psi before I pulled off the lot. This is bad service, then I went back and spoke to mgmt and advised him of what happened and that the light wasn't going off. He had an attitude and never apologized for the service and said I would need to take my car to the car dealership.
I will never go back to this place.

Broke Center Caps, Will Not Replace Them

Came in because of a flat tire a month ago. They didn't have the tire in stock, but they did a rotation for me. During this time, the tech broke two of my center caps but didn't say anything.

I had to come back a few days later for the new tire to come in, and that's when I noticed that one center cap was completely missing and another was badly cracked.

I brought this up to whoever I spoke with when I dropped my car off. He at first said *there was no possible way* one of his tech's could have been responsible, but I shut that down quick.

Discount Tire agreed to order in new replacement caps and to call me in a week. They never did, so I followed up and was told they were on order, to call back in a week. I waited a week and a day, still no callback, and called in.

Oh, they hadn't actually ordered the center caps and they were waiting on something? I spoke with Will, who was somewhat helpful, but every time I called in "Mo" who I was told is the manager was never available.

It's now been a month, and just to recap how Discount Tire thinks:

1. A technician broke customer property (no biggy, mistakes happen)
2. The technician didn't say anything (not okay)
3. The person I spoke with immediately tried to deny any responsibility
4. Discount Tire did not follow up, I had to
5. Discount Tire continued this trend 3-total times
6. I had to buy my own replacement center caps for the property they destroyed

I have used Discount Tires since I was a teenager, but after this I'm done. It's unprofessional, and all over something that is not and should not be a big deal.

Don't expect them to honor your warranty.

Discount Tire no longer honors warranties.

We spent almost $1000 on tires less than 2 years ago including their "extended protection plan." We are now 20k miles into a 60k mile warranty with excessive wear and they have refused to replace them citing lack of rotations. The amount of wear is not conducive to normal wear and we do not have an alignment issue. The tires are simply not as advertised.

I went back and forth with them for months. Every time I called they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about and promised to call me back, but never did. When I call back in, like I said, I get a new person and have to start over only to get ghosted.

I had been going to Discount Tire for over 20 years, but never again.

I was very happy with the price/not with safety

I was very happy with the price, and the discounts provided to me for my new tires! However, I am unhappy with the knowledge and care provided to my new Mercedes’. Everyone knows you don’t start the threading lug nuts using a power tool! So my new car had to have a hub re-threaded. Next I witnessed the young kid twerking the lug nuts with a torque wrench (as though he was working on an oil rig). I don’t blame the young kid for any of this but I do blame management for not properly training and supervising these young kids so they can advance their technical skills. When I got home I found out the tire pressures range from 37 to 45 psi ridiculous!
Different discount tire store : Last year I bought a new set a tires for my other old Mercedes with staggered tires sizes. Here they mounted the wide tires on the narrow rims, and the narrow tires on the wide rims. I didn’t know about this until I had control issues while driving my car! I blame myself for not double-checking their work, but discount tire has a big responsibility since we are entrusting them with our life and the lives of our families!!!

Age of new tires

Representative told me new tires I ordered might be up to six months old but in no way one year old. The next day (after tires were installed and vehicle was handed over to me) the new tires were over one year old.

Another Shop Attempting to Scam a Young Lady

Today, my young daughter took her car to the Martinez, GA Discount Tire store. She had a slow leak in one of her tires. The immediate response was "the tire cannot be repaired." The quote for a new tire was $400. She's smart and went down the road to a Tires Plus location. They took the time to inspect the tire and determined in fact it could not be repaired. They ordered a tire for her but instead of $400, the tire was $180. I am so sick of repair shops blatantly taking advantage of whomever they see as an easy target! Please, do not shop here.

I loved buying my tires at Discount…

I loved buying my tires at Discount Tire until... My account was closed. They use Synchrony bank as a finance company. Synchrony thinks you should use their card for all kinds of other stuff. I did not want other stuff, I have other accounts for that. All I wanted was financing from a tire company. My account was closed because I did not use the card enough. Took a hit on credit score and If I reapply I would take another hit. Guilt by association. I will not use them again if they don't fix this. Synchrony offered NO help.

You Can Get A Solid Deal Here, But Watch Out...

I buy all my tires here, so I am VERY familiar with Discount Tire. Their after-the-sale services like rebalancing, rotation, and flat fixing are all free. Even including about $25 per tire of made-up fees, they compete very well on price against anyone.

However, they're very annoying about trying to upsell you things you don't need. I always skip the optional extended warranty; the one time I needed it (and had paid for it) my 16K-mile tires were "too worn out" to replace (according to the Longmont Colorado Discount Tire store).

Recently they've started to branch out. It was bad enough when they started pushing wiper blades. On my last visit, after finding out that I had already had new tires and wiper blades, the clearly-disappointed sales guy tried to sell me new lug nuts. I would encourage anyone to STRONGLY push back against wiper blades, lug nuts, extra tire warranties, or whatever other extra-money-making scheme they have thought up lately. This is the kind of "bright idea" that bean-counters come up with. It's hard to measure the cost of making customers mad, but it's real. Something the bean-counters never include in their calculations.

Made an appointment

Made an appointment. Showed up 15 minutes early still waited 2 hours to have tire installed. I have been back 4 times to have tires checked and rebalanced. Still shakes my truck. They find the tires out of balance or failed road force test Everytime I bring it back. Just bought them . I believe the tires are out of round and are dangerous!

This discount tire in Gainesville…

This discount tire in Gainesville Florida is a rip off. Too much add on fees that you will surely not necessary. Stay away from this place, or if not make sure they will install at least recently manufactured tires and not more than 6 months old. Got 4 tires they say good for 2 1/2 years, when I checked the date on the tires, they install 6-month-old tires which means old for for me because Chinese made sentry tires may last 2 years now. That's insane, 336 dollars for the tires and additional 194 dollars to have them installed. Greedy.

So disappointing...I have spent…

So disappointing...I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars at the Discount Tire in Henderson, NV. off of Windmill Parkway and have been a loyal customer for decades. Recently, something went missing in my vehicle when I got it serviced and I noticed it the same day. I called to make a complaint and the front desk rep at this certain location had a behavior like I was lying or I was making a ridiculous claim. Wow. That will be the last time I ever step foot in their establishment ever again for not taking theft from a customer by their staff with any kind of action. What a jerk. Apparently, he approves of this type of staff behavior. Beware people.

Gaslighting by Discount Tire

I shopped online. Bought tires online. Could not schedule an install appointment because Discount Tires system refused any and every day I chose. ULTIMATELY TOOK ME A WEEK TO GET TIRES INSTALLED! I had to contact the Regional (Michigan) office to get something done because the local Traverse City store refuses to answer calls. Allows phone to be left on hold till it times out after about 8 minutes. I have been a customer of Discount Tires for at least a couple of decades. NEVER AGAIN!
Oh. And to top it all off. The monkeys who mounted my tires lost one of my TMPS valve stem caps (they have a rubber O-ring internally) and stuck some old, off the floor mismatched POS standard cap on! Nice! Real nice! I'll purchase new ones rather than return to Discount Tire and have to deal with the so called manager, DAVE, a habitual liar! He'd just gaslight me and say it was my fault somehow!

It may not matter to Discount Tire but it sure as hell matters to me!

This place is terrible

This place is terrible. High pressure sales. Scare tactics. On line appointments are a joke. I made an on line appointment to have a simple tire balance. Web site says to get there 10 mins before appointment. I get there 15mins before appointment. Takes about 5 mins to get me checked in. I sit down and wait. My name is called. Service advisor comes out we walk out to my truck and start looking at the tires. He tells me that my tires are NOT SAFE! I need new tires. He tells me that the tread is so worn down that its not safe. He tells me that the tires are old and that they are not safe. He's putting his little computer all over my tires as he's telling me this. I'm like ok. I just need a balance. He starts his sales speech about new tires again. I said no. just a balance today. Then he says your tires are in such bad shape that if we find anything wrong with them, we will not put the back on your truck and that your spare tire is no good either, so they won't put that one either. You will at that point have to buy new tires. At this point Im starting to question the integrity of this place. im thinking to myself they will take my truck in and definitely "find a problem". I tell him again that all I want is a tire balance. We go inside and he begins to enter all the information into the computer. I look at my watch and its now 10 minutes after my "appointment time". The service advisor then tells me to go ahead and have a seat and they will get me in, in about 45 minutes to an hour. I said my appointment was at xxxx time. Thats the whole point of making an appointment! Now your telling me I have to wait another 45min to an hour AFTER my APPOINTMENT time?! At this point I'm fed up with all the crap I've been hearing. I tell him forget it and walk out. Now about me.... I've been turning wrenches on cars and trucks for 40 years now. I was told that my tread was worn out. The tires that I had come new with 15/32nd tread on them my tires still had 7/32nds tread on them. Thats still half the Tread left! The tires were older but there were no cracks bulges separations on any of them (at least BEFORE my truck went into their garage.) They were in good shape. I have 3 vehicles in my household. None of them will be going to this place for anything tire related. I would advise anyone else to do the same.

Tire Repair was completed late on a busy Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately the existing lug nuts had seized onto the older bolts. Staff completing all repairs the same afternoon and at no cost to me. Fantastic Service. Thank you!

Their goal: quantity over quality

I went to discount tires because I heard good things about them. I brought in 4 almost new tires to them for mounting and balancing. I liked that they checked to make sure the tires were the right fit for my SUV (very professional) but I put too much confidence in their mounting abilities. Three days after I got my tires mounted, I drove my car three blocks before realizing that it was a flat tire that was making the noise (I did not even think about the tires because it had just been mounted and checked). When I went back to get the tire checked, they told me my tire was too damaged to use (because I drove three blocks) and tried to blame me for ignoring my flat tire sensor… the thing is that after waiting for 2 hours for them to mount the tires, they had forgotten to replace all my sensors that I had requested. I wasn’t going to wait for another two hours for that to be done and so I left two of them damaged so I always have the flat tire signal on. When I asked them why they don’t check for leaks, they said that they have 200 cars a day to go through and if they had to check that with every car, they would only get 20 done. This company’s goal obviously is quantity and not quality. No apology only them trying to pin it all on me… I’m not going back to them ever again. And I’m more than $200 out thanks to their negligence and forgetfulness to do what was requested to be done.

Discount tire damaged studs.

I have a 2019 Subaru Outback in prestine condition. I took my outback for a tire replacement they ordered. All they had to do was remove my spare and put new tire on. I personally put the spare on with a torque wrench and hand tighten the nuts snug. The tech used a high power impact gun and broke 1 stud and crossthreaded a nut tightening instead of loosening. This is after I asked them to use a torque wrench and not an impact gun. To top it off...they mounted the wrong tire on my wheel they put in the back of the car and I had to drive back out 15 miles 1 way with 3 bolts holding my spare on for them to put right tire on my wheel. Hendersonville , TN DISCOUNT TIRE are not to be trusted. Cost me over 300.00 for their mistake.
