I would urge anyone considering Design4Them to proceed very carefully and ask detailed questions before committing.

I worked with Derek (sales) and Kevin in 2025 and was charged $1,220 annually for website hosting and minor updates. Over the entire year, my requests were minimal—a contact page fix (after it was reported not working), removal of a discontinued service, and a small wording change.

At renewal, I was asked to pay another $1,220 upfront.(on the last day of my contract) When I requested a more flexible month-to-month option, given the site was not generating bookings, this was refused and I was told I needed to make a decision the same day. That kind of pressure should be a red flag for any small business owner.

I then consulted external IT professionals and spoke with Web Hosting Canada, who advised:

My website is actually hosted in the USA!!!!, despite being told initially it was hosted in Canada
Comparable hosting would cost roughly $7.95/month, with optional enhanced security around $40/year

When I decided to migrate my website, I was then told by Derek this could not be done due to various technical limitations ie: I cannot have access to my control panel via authorization code as best practices would say I should have access. This is highly concerning. Website migration is a standard, routine process when best practices are followed. Being unable, or unwilling, to facilitate this raises serious concerns about control, transparency, and client ownership.

From my experience:

Pricing is significantly above market for what is delivered
Hosting details were not transparent
There appears to be resistance when a client wants to leave!

If you choose to work with this company, ensure in writing:

You retain full ownership of your website and domain
You have complete administrative access
Your site can be migrated freely at any time

Otherwise, you may find yourself paying far more than necessary while having limited control over your own business asset.
