I like the whole idea

I like the whole idea! This is for people who don't like gyms but need to do exercise.

Having said that the hours they are open are very restricted.

Yes, they are kind but I have to get there by public transport and today I waited an hour for a bus and I think they were getting fed up of me arriving abominably late. It really would help if they opened in the afternoon or at least some time after 12 noon.

You are given a health check up on your first visit and I was told I was dangerously overweight and only had 20 % muscle function ... this increased my anxiety and I have enough of that anyway. Besides, looking at some of the women I cannot believe that I am as overweight as they are. Nor do I believe I only have 20% muscle as opposed to fat.

So far I have had panic attacks every time I go there because I have to complete 5 guided sessions which I have to book in advance and as I say, I am having terrible problems trying to get there on time, over 2 hours travelling.

Poor customer service

I signed up for a 12-month membership but my work hours changed soon after applying, meaning I could no longer attend during their limited opening hours. I explained this clearly, yet they refused to offer any flexibility, early cancellation, or anything to help.
It’s frustrating to see such a lack of understanding or support. They seem more focused on enforcing payments than helping members.
If you’re thinking of joining, make sure your schedule never changes - they won’t work with you at all and it seems all they want is your money.

Curve and core …

Loved the pink studio with the pretty bows on the cartridge and its women only . I have tried different Pilates instructors and they are all good , professional , they speak clearly and encourage you to go further with a gentle push . Once you try it you will never look back and will keep coming back for more especially with the generous offers they have.

I was diagnosed with a medical…

I was diagnosed with a medical condition and advised to give up gym work for a period of time. I emailed to cancel my Direct Debit the week after it was paid by my bank and asked for a refund as I would be unable to attend and had paid the monthly subscription in advance. I was informed by a new manager that a refund was not possible. I was very unhappy with this and expressed my annoyance and dissatisfaction about this and some other aspects of my experiences with this gym.I was contacted at a later stage by the franchise owner who also attempted to 'explain' why I could not receive a refund. My conversation with him was quite unpleasant and needless and as expected I have not received a refund.
Overall this gym is poor value for money- poor equipment ( machines often out of order) , grubby toilets, no showers and inadequate changing facilities. Curves Galway does not compare favorably with other gyms in Galway. There are much better options, including women only options available.

A circus on a huge scale

A circus on a huge scale. I signed up for the online program. 3 months later I still can’t sign in. I’m going for a refund. Little or no care or responsibility. And as for customer service there is none. Ummm if banging your head against a wall is helpful you’d get more out of it.

Awful but should have known better.

Awful but should have known better.
Joined this gym as couldn’t continue with other exercise due to an injury. Spent time with instructor and told them of my issues. Nearly every session I attended a different instructor would tell me to not miss a certain machine, each time in middle of class I had to explain my injury. Attended for 4 months and lost no weight or inches. They blamed different clothes. I tried this class 15 years ago and lost no weight after 6 months either.

Short gym time compared to preparation

The limitation to women might be interesting (then why men are allowed as trainers or responsible of the gym?).
The fact that you can only spend 30 minutes in the gym is a negative limit: you take the time to go/park/undress/take a shower/dress up again/return only for a limited working time.
I just did the test session, supposedly free of charge. However, they asked me to pay a certain amount (20 € in Italy) to block the offer price. Which means that I paid the test.
