Absolutely the worst company of any kind I've dealt with. Their web site is terrible, and if you call them up you are placed on hold for an eternity. If you get through to someone, they can't help... See more

The worst part about my dad dying was having to deal with Corebridge.
If you love (or even slightly like) your family members, do not leave your money with Corebridge. Because when you pass, they will do everything in their power to keep your beneficiaries from getting that money.
The experience my family has had in dealing with them has been nothing short of criminal. We all love each other a little bit less because of how we've had to take turns prying even basic information from customer service agents that at BEST are completely incompetent. At worst, I'd say it feels more like they are actively and intentionally sabotaging the entire process to delay the legally required payout.
Here's some of what you have to look forward to if you do choose to deal with them:
- Long hold times (sometimes over 4 hours) for answers to even the most basic questions.
- Being constantly redirected between departments. No matter what you call about, the agent is going to make it someone else's problem, and it's probably going to take another hour or two.
- Dropped calls about 50% of the time (often after hours of waiting). Thought you were close to talking to the right department? Think again.
- Communication is WORSE than nonexistent. Most agents are from the Phillipines and speaking limited English, and none of them have any familiarity with the claims process or forms AT ALL. You could ask what to write in the "First Name" section and they will put you on hold to ask a supervisor. It's that bad.
This company should be investigated, because there is NO WAY what they're doing should be legal. Stop playing with people's money.

This company has a subsidiary called American General Life Insurance. They are a horrible and unethical insurance company. They do not answer phones and send you on a Merry Go Round when you call customer service or try to file a claim. You would have to be insane to do business with them.

The Corebridge Financial staff is always extremely professional, knowledgeable, polite, and helpful to me in every contact that I make with them. I highly recommend this company in every way!

No Answer - I have tried to process two loan requests from a life insurance policy and it has been over a month. I have called, and they said they need more time or I wait on hold and then get disconnected. I have tried NUMEROUS times to email over the portal, and I keep getting an automated response that "they need more time to research", but I hear nothing back. One person I spoke to stated they have the forms, and they will be processed, but nothing is happening. Will be contacting SEC. This is a life insurance policy with cash value I am entitled to borrow against. So frustrating. Would give zero stars if I could.

Corebridge Insurance LOST A Important Document!! Corebridge Insurance Does NOT Want to Pay Us What Corebridge Insurance Owes Us!!! The Worst Company To Deal with in This Time of Emotional Stress!!!

No one there has an answer. Gave me crazy resolutions. No reps are offered to discuss what your policy is or how it works. It is definitely not what was sold to me. Quite dishonest

I can't recommend strongly enough to NOT get your insurance here. It's basically a Hotel California policy as you can never leave...It requires 2-3 days worth of your time to cancel the policy and it is set up to auto-renew at exorbitant rates and you need to hit cut-off dates which are near impossible because they need two months to get the paperwork filed....I'm paying $1,500/month now for life insurance I've been trying to cancel for over a year now....and NO ONE has the authority to cancel it...Good luck if you are already in

If I could rate the customer 0 stars I would. It has been over 3 months and over 5 telephone conversations and my check has not been received. Each call I'm transfered to numerous people telling me that the check has been cut. This is not a reputable business to handle financial investments.

Everytime you talk to a rep its a,different story. ano mo one ever calls or emails back including supervisors
I revised rating after they got back to me. They need to coach reps better in record keeping and rules.

I am trying to login on the website and account says is locked. I have called more than 10 times. Either they transfer me to different departments until nobody answers or they hang up on me in the middle of the call after 10 or 15 minutes of saying that they cant access my account. Horrible customer service

Corebridge called me back in July to inform me that I had a retirement account with my previous employer. I asked if I could withdraw a portion out of it, they said I was eligible. It was at this point when I found out how terrible this institution is. I made the request for a small distribution to be withdrew from my account on July 31. They said all needed to do was fill out the paperwork send it back, our processing team will look at it & once its approved it can be sent via direct deposit or check by mail. I chose direct deposit. Then they hit me with "since you just created your online profile there's a 60 day hold on direct deposits so you can only get the money by check". I'm like ok well mail it then. It's now 9/17/2026 and I've still have yet to receive my money! I've heard numerous excuses. First they sent me the wrong paperwork, then I didn't fill out the write section in the paperwork, then I filled too many sections in the paperwork, then they needed to verify my employment because the system was telling them I was still employed (which I'm not), then I needed to get a spouse notarized signature, after being told I didn't have to. Every time the processing team is non communicative on any of the issues I've been going through. I've found out all my issues by following up on the status of my distribution. Now I'm being told that they'll distribute my money to my back account after constantly being told I wasn't eligible. Just to found out that they distributed the money to a old bank account that hasn't been active in years! Now they are having to retrieve the money from that account & they're saying we have to go through the "Worst processing team I've ever dealt with" before distributing the money to my account. I'm still waiting on money currently. DO NOT do business with this company.

I applied for a Corebridge term life policy and ultimately walked away from an approved policy because the process of actually putting it in force became so confusing and dysfunctional.
The early stages were mostly normal: a detailed medical-history interview, a reasonable quote for the 25-year term I wanted, and a required medical exam. The exam process itself was somewhat disorganized and the technology appeared unreliable, but underwriting ultimately moved faster than expected. About a week later, I received an email explicitly saying my policy had been approved and directing me to the Consumer Portal to pay the initial premium, set up recurring payments, review/sign documents, and save the policy.
That is where everything fell apart.
The first time I entered the portal, I saw options to pay by credit card, bank account, or "direct bill." When I returned later, the credit-card option had disappeared. I tried the bank-account option repeatedly without success, then selected direct bill, hoping that meant Corebridge would simply send me an invoice.
I subsequently received an email saying I had "completed the electronic policy delivery requirements" and that, if not previously paid, my payment would be processed. I reasonably assumed things were now essentially complete.
Instead, Corebridge later called to ask whether I was still interested because I had apparently "abandoned" the policy.
From there, I spent far too much time simply trying to give Corebridge money. I offered to pay by credit card over the phone, send a check, or use any other workable method. I was told the issue needed to be escalated and that a new portal link might solve it.
During another call, a customer-service representative repeatedly told me my policy was only conditionally issued and still under underwriting review, despite the approval email in front of me. I tried several times to read him the email, but after roughly half an hour I was no closer to understanding what was happening or being able to pay.
A different representative was much more helpful and eventually restored the credit-card option, but the portal then remained stuck on "payment processing." She next offered a DocuSign form for bank payments, but that introduced another issue because the electronic form did not appear to accommodate my jointly held checking account correctly.
At that point, I gave up.
Corebridge had offered me competitive terms on exactly the policy length I wanted. I wanted to buy the policy. I repeatedly tried to pay them. Their systems and processes made that unnecessarily difficult.
I ultimately went with another company and purchased with Symetra Swift Term. The contrast was remarkable: reviewing the policy, entering payment information, signing, and confirming coverage was clear, fast, and uneventful.
That mattered to me. Life insurance is a service relationship that my family might someday need to navigate at a very difficult time. My first impressions of the company were so frustrating and dysfunctional, and after seeing how hard it was simply to become a paying Corebridge customer, I was not comfortable relying on their systems and customer service in the future.
The people I dealt with were generally polite, and I had no complaint about the policy terms themselves. But the onboarding and payment process was frustrating enough that Corebridge lost a customer who was already approved and actively trying to buy the product.

Do not let Corebridge have any of your investment money. I liquidated a position and asked for them to wire it to me. They can’t seem to figure out how to wire money which is quite scary considering they are supposedly a “financial company”. Everyday is the same thing, should be there tomorrow morning. Nope it never gets here. They are thieves. Already filed a SEC Complaint against them. I suggest you run from them as fast as possible.

This company engages in bait-and-switch pricing tactics. They initially attract you with an appealingly low preliminary premium, only to draw out the underwriting process over several months with tedious medical examinations and test requirements.
Despite passing every health evaluation with clean results, the final approved policy arrived with a rate three to four times higher than the original quote. It feels like a deliberate strategy to waste your time so you feel forced to accept the inflated cost. I strongly advise looking elsewhere for a more transparent and honest insurer.

I would never use this company as a financial advisor. I have ask question about fees that I am paying and they always give me a the run around on what they are for. I have a new fee and it took me over 2 month to get a answer about what the fees are for and because I threaded to go to the SEC my financial advisor told not to reach out to him. So the mean that I am paying fees to someone who won't even talk to me. I use this company through my work so I don't have a choice I have to use them or not add to my retirement.
I work for a school dist. and in MO. and it is a part of something called CSD Retirement trust that most school dist in Mo. use. Their motto is created for educators by educators. The best I can tell is that they are good at charging fees to do nothing and the only thing they are looking out for their wallets. They hold your money for up to a month and a half at a time before they invest it. Then if you call and question about where the money is they blame it on the school dist. I have worked at 2 districts and it is the same song and dance at both of them. The only common thing between the to districts is this company so I know that the issue lies with the company and not the districts. I am guessing to earn some interest on your money. I can just imagine how much money they are holding at any given time that is not their to be earning money off of. In short don't use Corebridge Finical or a company called Valic they are the same company.

Bad information given to me by a customer service representative which caused my payout to be delayed. I was told to go on the internet and l could
change my email address so that I could put in my banking information to receive my payment. Once I had done that, I was directed back to the telephone number that l had originally called and was still unable to put my banking information in. I later found out the information given by the first customer service representative was wrong because once I change my email, it would take 60 days before I could put in my banking information in. In 2026. there's no reason for that. There is no reason for someone that is supposed to be skilled in customer service to give out bad information. I very disappointed. Would not recommend to anyone.
