Citygate stole our money

Citygate has not been transparent in their dealings. No direct communications and a social media posting is not how you communicate with your investors. Email addresses are no longer active and phones unanswered. Also learned that a separate company managed their sales and marketing and have also not been paid since June. So clearly there has been problems for a while now. This however did not stop them from taking on new investors knowing full well they will not get paid. Latest posting on Instagram on Friday about a buyout in my opinion is another stalling tactic. I suggest all investors communicate with each other and we seek legal advise for a class act. As we cannot post email information please reach out via LinkedIn Lee-Ann Richardson and together we can hopefully stand a chance of getting our money back

Scam for sure

Dear all, I have just been told by the person who dealt with me her name is Madison- Good evening all,

CityGate Housing Clients to Benefit from Institutional Buyout Following Recent Challenges

In light of recent developments, CityGate Housing has secured an institutional buyout, ensuring that all current clients will be fully compensated. CEO Sandro Zambón, along with his executive team, has successfully arranged a resolution for the challenges the company has recently faced, committing to ensure that all clients will be reimbursed in full by the end of February 2025.

Clients who are part of the CityGate Housing program are encouraged to take action by sending their Client Certificate or JV contract to the dedicated email address: This step is essential to facilitate the payout process and ensure smooth communication as the company executes its compensation plan.

In a significant strategic move, CityGate has also secured over £10 million in fresh investment following a major institutional deal concluded last night. This new funding will be used to stabilize operations and enable the company to pursue future growth opportunities. The executive team is focused on scaling the business further, with plans to introduce FCA-regulated financial products later in 2025, offering clients and investors greater security and credibility within the UK’s regulatory framework.

Sandro Zambón personally addressed the CityGate community, stating, “On behalf of CityGate, we sincerely apologise for the inconveniences and distress caused by recent banking disruptions. We understand the uncertainty this has created for our clients and want to assure you that we have found a solution. We will be providing precise dates shortly, but you can rest assured that you will receive your funds back soon.”

This institutional buyout marks a turning point for CityGate, signaling a renewed commitment to its clients and to building a sustainable future with its latest investment efforts.

Not looking good.

Not looking good, that's the issue with promises of high returns.
I've seen other companies offering the same deal....only invest if you can afford to lose the money, it's just like gambling.

A friend who invested all his saving…

A friend who invested all his saving and had one payment so far , got this message today

Good morning,

Executive decision has been made yesterday night - we are bringing institutional funds in for the project.

That saying it will mean that all retail clients will be bought out (return what they have invested). We will finalise the final date when are we aiming to pay everyone out, but most likely it will be January or February.

I have also been told, that only of the floors have submitted their client data, we are urging all sales floors to provide their clients full contact details so communication can be established and clients can be informed about this plan.

More information will follow by Monday.

In regards to banking - private bank will take 10 days to set up, high street banks are all applied for and appointments booked, I don't trust mobile banks and struggling to understand how did the company grow to this size by only having mobile banks.

I do understand there are some significant balances owed to certain floors, please do send the right figures so we can include it in our calculations.

In regards to the assets of the business - my team will start transferring it from tomorrow into our other company so the revenue from gov providers can still be retained.
___

From a professional opinion the way things were left back in August for Shay's takeover wasn't professional at all and many people are to blame - especially previous directors as they still retain certain information about frozen bank accounts that can re open them swiftly. I was told there is over 1 million pounds on hold in those accounts, I haven't seen it, but I saw some emails and can verify a figure north of £760k. Buy unfortunately we do require cooperation that previous directors and his teams are not providing.

Once institutional funding is brought in we can have a discussion about how can we work together on fund raising side, but for the time being priority is to sustain assets of the company and repay the clients.

All the best and speak soon,
Sandro

Same story, a scam story

Same story. Invested 13000 in July. First payment took place as promised on September 20. Second payment was not received. Most disturbingly, no communication. I tried to call 3/4 different numbers that I had as various contacts in Citygate and all of them went to an answer machine. I left a message with all of them and none were returned. A scam for sure

None Payment and Misrepresentation

Unfortunately this organisation has been misrepresenting very important information. I spoke to the non executive trustee named in the JV contract - he has confirmed that he has been in dispute with Citygate for several months regarding unpaid fees. He is no longer acting for Citygate. I have been trying to speak to someone in charge for several days, investors were promised a proposal yesterday but it never arrived. A new bank account is being allegedly opened today but still nothing heard from Citygate and importantly no payments received. It appears to me that if a full response is not received by the end of today that legal action is the only solution. Investors should consider a class action. Can I ask all investors to keep us all in the loop if they hear anything. Regards Pete Gallagher

Looking dubious that they will now pay out...

I know somebody who has invested and not been paid their first investment due on the 20th October. She is at her wits end as £13500 is a lot of money to her. They have not been contacted by anybody from Citygate. The phone number provided has not been answered. It is looking very dubious. I was about to invest myself but so glad now that I didn't. The fact that they have not reached out by email, phone, SMS or Whatsapp to their investors speaks volumes. They were so quick to make contact to take the money.

This is a company that cannot be trusted nor transparent with their business. Unprofessionals. Do not invest with them.
I’ve been waiting more than 7 working days to get paid and the same old story. Issues with staff, banking system etc. response is I will get paid by end or working day or the following week.
What’s going on Citygate?

My partner and I have invested in…

My partner and I have invested in several Citygate housing properties this year as we have a passion for helping the homeless and the disabled. This style of investing was completely new to us though so we had a lot to learn. There’s definitely a lot to take in, but Siobhan and Matthew are really experienced and were very patient with all of our questions even to the point of sending us diagrams and videos of how everything works which massively helped. When we decided to go for it they guided us through everything perfectly and kept us updated regularly. We are now receiving our returns on the exact dates each month as promised on the paperwork so really happy in that respect too. We honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience to the point of highly recommending the opportunity to our family and friends.

Citygate Housing

After my initial contact with Citygate I did some research & felt it would be a sound ethical investment.
Later communication with my two contacts proved very supportive, giving me good advice & guidance on the investment. Meeting with my them at their office was also reassuring.
I look forward to receiving my returns & investing further in the near future.

I have been following these social…

I have been following these social housing investments for a while. I was intrigued by the model and was contacted by Raja Ahmed as they had my details from a previous information request. As I was off work, I had time to go and visit the offices and see what they are doing. I also met Tom Parson who helped to explain their investmend model.
A couple of key points for me, they specify which building you are investing in and of course this makes it specific to an asset and not just money going around.
Its early days and I can only comment, so far so good. However will only know after three years when all the money invested has been returned to know whether it has all been worthwhile. Having said that Tom did mention that they themselves are looking to register as a social housing provider direct with the government as opposed to a go between which they currently are.

UPDATE

Bank account frozen allegedly and many investors have yet to receive payments. Getting that bad feeling this is not ending well for any of the investors.
Would love to be proved wrong but i doubt it.
