CanaDream RV - Vancouver Reviews 

RV handover and return very fast and efficient.
RV was in very good condition.
Tour planning with documentation provided very good.

The RV we had was wizard, and easy to drive. The how to guides were helpful and easy to understand and we soon got into the hang of hooking up at sites and keeping tabs on the content of the tanks. When we had a low tyre pressure warning light, customer support were very helpful. The one bugbear was that at booking, somethings such as bedding and kitchen kit are extras.

Great staff great holiday but….
We had a great time but I think Canadream could make improvements.
We arrived half an hour early to our slot but it was obvious that they were running late and we didn’t get to our RV on the slotted time. We were also held up because they had forgotten the kitchen and linen kits which caused further delays. This resulted in us missing our ferry to Vancouver island and having to pay over $200 dollars to rebook onto a later crossing.
The RV - it was big, 28ft big so plenty of space for just 2 people. I know we were on a saver 4 deal but the saver 2 wasn’t available at the time of booking and we knew it was going to be one of three sizes.
Unfortunately the van had issues
The van has been in service for a while because the amount of patching up on the outside and the worn/chipped cupboards on the inside showed its age.
Steering wheel was not on straight which was off putting when first driving.
The toilet leaked at the base but at least CD provided enough towels to stop water going everywhere.
The mattress definitely seen better days as it sunk in the middle and we kept rolling into each other during the night.
The side door latch was man enough to hold the door closed unless you locked it from the inside.
We were also plagued by flies from the first night which seemed to originate from the shower/toilet.
We had to ring CD about the toilet due to the black waste handle being stuck in the closed position. And it was worrying because the monitor was showing half full when we hadn’t used it. We did eventually fix it with hot water and brute force it was obvious that it was the previous renters waste that had not been cleaned out.
As I mentioned we still had a great holiday but these are easy fixes that could go a long way to improve the service that CanaDream provides.

We rented from CanaDream last year and were really happy with everything, so we rented from them again this year. We booked approximately five months in advance, and then booked our sites and ferries. During check in we were shocked to learn our only drop off option was 8am. Previously we were able to drop off much later. We immediately contacted CanaDream, and our only option was to pay the late drop off fee, which ended up being more than if we had booked an extra day. Had we known at booking, we would have booked an extra day, or altered our travel plans. At this point it was too late to change anything. We were happy with the RV and the customer support staff. This is an issue with their policy. Due to this, we will be considering a different company next time.

The pick-up and drop-off of the RV went smooth. The user manual in mother tongue was very helpful. The equipment (kitchen kid) could have been more extensive.
Returning the car was a bit chaotic due to tight time schedule (all cars arrive at the same time and the queue of RV's stretches down the road).

The RV was not well maintained.
The door did not close well and rattled as well as the screen door during driving. It was mentioned when we picked up the RV that something is wrong with the door. So why not fix it? I had to fix the lock with duct tape and always put something between the door and screen door so it did not rattle that much otherwise the trip would have been very unpleasant.
A door shelf in the fridge was on one side broken. It was just put in that it looked ok. Was not usable.
The shower door screw was off. Had to fix it first.
With today technology we would have expected a car with a screen so cartrawler could be used for navigation but only had a radio like cars had 20 years ago.
The windshield wipers would have needed a replacement. Was a security risk when raining and dark.
For a 10k Dollar rent we would have expected better.

Canadream were very welcome on our arrival in Vancouver and whilst booking they were extremely helpful answering lots of questions by email, the staff were very friendly and the van was very reliable, clean and everything worked fine, we had a wonderful trip with them, the only thing is that they can’t tell you the exact size van you are having until you get there which I would have liked to have known before hand, also they had a instructional booklet to help with everything which was very helpful as we had not rented an RV before.

Excellent personal introduction to the Truck Camper. The vehicle was brand new with 15.000km, everything was perfect. Drop off also very smooth in a very pleasant and professional atmosphere.

We loved our CanaDream RV trip. It was a great way to see country Canada and for us, it was the British Columbia Canadian Rockies.
The RV we hired for the 11 nights was big but it was perfect as we like a bit of space for two of us. It was easy to set up compared to our 22 foot caravan (you call it trailer here).
Reason I didn’t give a perfect 5 score was 1. Being an overseas traveller, firstly we drove on the other side of the road from Australia and we are not familiar with the roads and left hand drive, the fuel was only 1/4 full. Trying to drive a long RV in unfamiliar roads just after picking up the RV, finding and parking RV at Fuel station in the suburb of Vancouver on a Saturday morning was no fun. Stressful indeed. In Australia, ALL hired vehicle HAVE TO BE RETURNED WITH A FULL TANK OF PETROL. If that is the case, we should have been made aware that fuel tank is only 1/4 full and WHERE THE NEAREST FUEL STATION IS TO where we picked our RV up in Vancouver.

2. The tap in the bathroom dripped the whole time we had the RV. Staff tried to get some mechanic to fix it but weren’t able to. We were not prepared to also extend our stay in wherever we were to get it fixed. We had all our RV sites booked for our trip. So we used a facecloth to direct the water into the sink.

3. Also one of the burners on the stove didn’t work.

From start to pick up the RV till the return, perfect service, everything well prepared and super friendly staff. We would definitely rent again.

We made a very beautiful trip through a wonderfull country. We could do that bevaar we had all we need in the RV. The service off Canadream was great

The competent team at Canadream handled everything excellently, ensuring that the vehicle handover at the start and end of the trip went quickly and smoothly. The vehicle was perfectly equipped and reliable throughout our three-week vacation.

RV was comfortable and clean, everthing worked well, slide out gave alot more room.
Our only complaint would be lacking some utensils in the kitchen like a fish slice, wooden spoon and non stick frying pan. An easy fix for Canadream to resolve.

Everything went fantastic

Got a truck camper where there was multiple problems with the water installation - both city water connection, grey water tank, sewer hose and leaking toilet.

We are experienced RV renters and this is our first with you and worst experience. You changed the vehicle type the night before we left then proceeded to give us one that was lesser than the standard. The briefing on the vehicle was about two minutes and very rushed. The manual did not cover where the slide out switch was on the RV version provided. You had. I parking for our vehicle. You would not allow us to temporarily park close to our RV to transfer our equipment and supplies. The tank was only half full requiring us to waste time to fill it before we went on our adventures. You charged for an early 10:30 am pick up but then were not ready at the time. You charged extra for many smaller items that ended up being provided anyway so we wasted money. The field gauge does not work accurately unless driving for a few minutes so we ended up over filling the tank rather than providing the half full level you said we could return it at. You tried to blame us for a small tick in the windshield and a small cracked container in the fridge when both were present during the speedy briefing but because you were in a rush during the initial briefing not properly documented and simply waved off initially. Brutal experience and over priced for the service and treatment.

Pick up and Drop off very professionell !

We are from Germany and speak English, but we still found it absolutely wonderful that Joel explained and introduced everything to us in German. Joel was super helpful, nice, and very friendly. Great service from him. Employees like him are worth their weight in GOLD! The camper was only 5 months old, in very good condition, and super clean. Thanks to the data plan we purchased for Canada, we were easily able to stream our own Netflix from the comfort of bed. The refrigerator was super spacious, as was the pull-out freezer. I would always prefer this 2-person SVC camper over a larger motorhome with an alcove/overcab bed because that roof overhang limits light in the driver's cabin and restricts the view. Plus, we don't need two extra sleeping spots. The only thing we missed along the way were the leveling blocks to balance the vehicle on uneven ground....they had been forgotten. However, we would definitely recommend CanaDream and book with them again. Thank you for the great time and the amazing service from Joel!
