Do not rely on these people who almost operate as scammers

A few days after making the order and receiving a confirmation, they sent an email saying that they weren't able to fulfill my order and so cancelled it. Do not rely on these people who almost operate as scammers. They don't have your product in stock, they only source it after you make your purchase, so who knows whether they'll actually be able to get it for you.

Thank you for your feedback but please note we are not scammers and we have clearly stated under the none stock items that they are centrally stocked and occasionally orders may need to be cancelled if stock doesnt arrive once we order. Scammers will steal your money but we are an honest an legitimate business and as soon as an order is cancelled its refunded with no hassle. We are the only pharmacy in the UK with over 100,000 products so due to the amount of products we are selling unfortunately we do have to sometimes cancel the none medical items which we don't always stock, hence the up to 10 working days delivery timeframe. I hope this explains everything, please let us know if you need anything else. Thanks

Avoid them

Avoid them. I paid for an item and was expecting it within 2 weeks. They kept updating me saying they were processing the order. Then I get a message to say the order has been cancelled. Still waiting for the refund!

Long Delivery Times

Ordered an item, aware of the 2 week lead time.

Item took over 3 weeks to arrive - however communication was good once they were contacted.

Worse than useless, absolute waste of time.

Only giving one star because I can't give none. It took two weeks for them to tell me the item I ordered wasn't available! Am I missing something? If it's not available, don't advertise it! Of course, my money has been sitting in their bank account, earning them interest for two weeks - is this an 'interest skimming' scam?

Can you please provide an order number so we can look into this for you. For our household goods it clearly says up to 10 working days because we order on demand and sometimes our suppliers let us down. We have no interest in having your money in our account and no interest in offering a bad service and losing sales. We have thousands of sales and most have no issues and are repeat customer's and have never been accused of earning interest. shocking waste of time

shocking! What a waste of time. Order some dark grey Soudall cement 4 weeks ago, said it was in stock. Now, after numerous messages, basically saying the same thing "preparing the order" they tell me that they have cancelled it and refunded me. Total pain in the backside. Waste of time!

Poor ordering and delivery service

Placed order 25th January however after 12 working days still no delivery. I had to keep contacting them to find out what was happening. One item they said that they were waiting for after two order requests ( of which when I contacted the brand customer service dept they told me it had been discontinued)and another item was now stopped(however I had to place an order directly with the brand website and pay separate postage charges) now that I have requested a full and immediate refund of my order. However the really annoying thing was as a unpaid carer for my vulnerable and housebound mother she relies on me to purchase items for her and a few of the items that I had ordered were toiletries that she was needing plus they had wasted my valuable time as well and added more expense in ordering direct from the brand website at least the waiting time for my order from the brands directly are handled more efficiently and professionally. All along British chemist were saying that they were processing my order. I will not be placing any more orders in the future from them even with their 10% off discount offer.

Products still not received and no communication

I ordered products on 11th Jan (almost 4 weeks ago) and they still haven't arrived. I can't find any email contact to find out where my order is. The last email I have just says order processing. I'm not sure if this company is legit or not.
Update: I have emailed you but no response, but I do get a quick response on trust pilot. My order number is 381346. Could I please have the products or a refund please.

So, following your recent reply I have checked my account and yes, I do have a refund but no cancellation email (checked my spam folder) and also no reply to my email sent yesterday. Perhaps you could put more energy into your customer service and reply to customer emails rather than updating Trust Pilot???
Also if an item is not in stock why have it available on your website?? Reading other reviews it seems this is a common occurrence. Thank you for wasting so much of my time.

Our email is also mentioned and we also have an instant chat feature. Please email us on info@britishchemist.co.uk or call us on 020 8004 0895 and provide your order number and someone will immediately advise you on your order status. Please have a look at our website, scroll down to the bottom where it says contact us and you will see that it clearly displays your contact number.

Further to your edit I can see that this has already been cancelled and refunded, please check your email and your junk mail and you will see that you received a cancellation email on the 28/01/2025, please check your account and you will see a full refund.

To answer you we do apologiswwe if an email was not sent but we can see on our system its been sent so not sure whats gone wrong as its all automated. We get thousands of emails per day as we sell over 80,000 products online and unfortuantely we take a few working days to reply to emails but always strive to reply as soon as we can. To answer your question about availability, as we also have retails stores, unfortunately sometimes we think we have an item, but as its bought from store it, falsely shows as in stock. We do apologise for this and we are working on finding a way to have more accurate data. Please also note that the people who leave bad reviews are becasue of a bad experience but we have thousands of happy customers who do not leave reviews. Either way we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate all feedback and we will work to improve customer service. Order cancelled 12 days after being placed

Having placed an order with British Chemist 12 days ago (supposedly an order with a 10 day lead time), today they have abruptly cancelled the order. I've now had to organise a replacement order through another vendor and pay for express delivery due to the delay and cancellation of British Chemist. Unreliable service.

I ordered from this company over a week…

I ordered from this company over a week ago no contact since and email address doesn’t work, can’t get through on the phone I’m really annoyed as I don’t know if I’m ever going to get my purchase

You have not heard from up because your item has not been dispatched yet. Please go back to the page where you made your purchase and you will see that right at the top it says this takes up to 10 working days and there is a pop up that appears as soon as you add an item to remind you that this item is centrally stocked. We do apologies if you have tried to call and weren't answered but I have just checked and cannot see any emails from you. Odd and flaky to be honest

Odd and flaky to be honest. Made an order on their site and it never arrived, so emailed them and never got a reply, having left it a week I called them up and they said they were still waiting for stock and I should leave it another week, then sent me an email cancelling my order! Called them up and they were quite vague and flaky. All a bit of a joke… I’m not 100% convinced they’re real. They said they'd contact me when stock is in but I doubt they will.

Absolutely no issues

Absolutely no issues. Ordered a large amount of nasal inhalers ( for Humanitarian Aid ) Items were not in stock and my order was cancelled immediately by British Chemist. No money was taken from my account. Phone answered immediately and professionally and thoroughly dealt with my query on the spot. My personal experience they were great.

TOTAL SCAM STAY CLEAR

Ordered the medication I need over a week ago not even an email to say its been dispatched. Think this must be a scam company not good at all when you are struggling. I would give this company a miss they take your money quick sharp then nothing. Very angry with this non service. If they didn't have allergy medication I needed then they shouldn't take my money. TOTAL SCAM!!!!

Unsure due to reviews but amazing service

Initially I was unsure after reading the reviews on here and I cancelled my order before paying. I was then contacted by someone from British Chemist to ask if there was a problem. I told them honestly why I was put off and they explained why they receive these reviews (people are basically ordering items that can be abused and they can't fulfil the quantities people want). I was assured they could supply the quantity of the item I wanted and promised it would be despatched the next day. After a few emails back and forth, I was convinced enough to give them a go. This was on Tuesday night. On Wednesday I got a royal mail confirmation and received my items today (Thursday morning). Living in a remote area I expected it to not arrive until the weekend. Absolutely delighted and would recommend getting in touch with them directly if you're unsure as the person I was emailing was so friendly and helpful.
