not The best of experiences

Many of the ear bud plugs did not work on seats and their stops are poorly identified is no ticket people on site. Would have been better if travel schedule was kept. Last bus never showed or a head of schedule

Good Afternoon Gary,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re sorry you had a bad experience. It has been reported to the designated dept. for correction and we’ll strive to do better. Please keep in mind, the timing is an estimate, based on traffic and it can be unpredictable. Unfortunately, we have no control over it however we are working strenuously to still provide our guests the best sightseeing experience possible. We hope this incident doesn't discourage you to tour with us in the future.

Kind Regards,
BBTNY

A few hiccups, but glad we used Big Bus

The description of what was included in our package was a bit confusing to understand, so we ended up paying more than we expected to see everything we wanted, although there wasn't any deceit involved. Because we didn't follow the staggered bus times for all the bus routes, we were unable to take one that was included in the additional fees we paid beyond the three day pass we purchased. Other than one tour guide who seemed bitter and consistently pointed out the disparities between NYC's rich and the common folk, most of the guides were informative. A couple seemed to be trying out material for stand up comedy...All that being said, we enjoyed the Big Bus tours and will continue to use the service whenever we visit cities as tourists.

Use GreyLine or other Hop On Hop Off Service

We had an absolutely horrible experience. First, their stops are not clearly marked and even show up incorrectly on the Big Bus app. Second, when we did finally get on a bus, they did not tell us we needed ear buds to hear the commentary. Third, we were told to walk about a mile to Pier 16 for our "free cruise" to only find out it was sold out for the day. Fourth, when we called to complain and get some relief, Christian the "office manager" treated us like we were liars... and when we asked for a refund, were told that Big Bus does not do refunds, but they could offer us another "free" day on the bus. UGH! We loved Big Bus in New Orleans and Philadelphia, but not in NYC. Rude and offensive.

Good Afternoon Randall,

Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear you had such a frustrating experience, but we really appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. Issues with the app has been reported to our IT dept. We’re normally known for our exceptional attention to detail, and we regret that we missed the mark, guides are to inform passengers of the audio upon boarding. As for the cruise, Liberty cruise operates from 2 Piers. Pier 83 is located at 42nd and 12th Ave and has departures at 10:00am.

You can also take the Cruise at Pier 16, which has departures at 10am, 11:30am, 12:45pm, 2:30pm, 3:45pm, all this information is post upon purchasing tickets as well on our website, app and on the redeemed receipt paper tickets. Please also keep in mind, you have 5 days from date of redemption to utilize it.

In regards to your request, we cannot guarantee the results of your request, for only the national administrator of finance determines that based, on reasoning per policy by a case by case basis, in the order, in which they are requested. Again, we’re sorry to hear that your experience was not of the quality you expected. We will use the feedback to make us better and to ensure this doesn’t happen again

Kind Regards,
BBTNY

Hard to get on buses in certain areas as need to be seated upstairs to appreciate the commentary. Guides very good. Would not buy next time waste too much time hanging around at bus stops, would use the subway and just do a one lap tour for orientation and information

Live and learn

Live and learn. If I could give this bus service negative stars, I would. Buses DO NOT arrive every 15-20 min, that is a lie and misrepresentation. Try one hour. And, when they do, buses are full, you will be lucky just to get on. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, not happening.

Good Afternoon A H.

It's disappointing to hear that you did not have a pleasant experience with us. Please know, we don’t lie or coerce in order to profit our business. Bus rotation is 20-25 minutes dependent on traffic, which is unpredictable and beyond our control. We do our best to maneuver around it, and provide our guests with the best sightseeing experience possible. our tours do experience a high volume of customers, we do our best to monitor the demand and plan for an increased number of buses during busier times to avoid overcrowding and extensive wait times. We apologize this wasn't your experience. With that said, we appreciate you taking the time to feedback as we reference our passengers in the best ways to improve our services overall.

Kind Regards,
BBTNY

I paid for one day tour of the Big Bus in NYC. I received 10% off purchasing online. I showed up to the bus stop and was told by the worker that next time I should purchase tickets directly onsite because the tickets would be half price. That really bothers me that I could have gotten a better price. We only ride the bus for an hour. It was not worth the $150 I paid for a family of three.

Not the experience we remember from…

Not the experience we remember from years past when the guide was pleasant, informative and enjoyable. Took the Blue Line on 10/12/19. The young guide was truly obnoxious! Yelling into the mic and over exaggerating petty useless non interesting information. Gave us the wrong info stating the Met Museum was closed for renovation. On 10/13/19 took the Red Line downtown. Again the guide yelling into the mic making the trip unenjoyable. After drop off at Times Square received instructions to catch the uptown Blue Line in front of a Knickerbocker Hotel on 42nd & Broadway. Struggling thru a maze of people and exhausted we caught the bus only to learn it was the Red Line downtown bus again and had to be dropped off and instructed to walk back to Bryant Park. Not all buses were marked with their destination. Waited as two Red Line downtown buses stopped by before catching a Blue Line uptown bus and then the guide provided misinformation and said we had to be on the Red Line to catch the Midtown East on 49th Street between 3rd and Lexington. We were ready to kill! Accepting the fact we were visitors and NYC can be confusing we were pretty confident following the online map and found it helpful. Just wish we had guides that made the trip more enjoyable and the bus destinations were easier to distinguish.

Waste of time & money

This was a complete waste of money. Several of the guides were rude. One yelled at us after we had boarded the bus when we tried to go to the top level. He said that we broke “protocol.” Every time we tried to get on a bus, they were full so we would stand around wasting more time waiting for one that wasn’t full. It is easier to just take a taxi.

It was difficult changing different bus lines. We ended up using taxi service to reach our destinations. The ad is deceiving in stating prepaid can be used within 60 days and does not state consecutive.

Good Afternoon Denise,

Please provide a copy of your ticket to infony@bigbustours.com so we may further investigate this incident as all locations are provided on our website, app and brochures, as well as, live tour guides on the buses to assist passengers and on- street agents on locations with bus markers. Please know, we neither deceive nor coerce in order to profit our business. That is going against our core values and we would never jeopardize our reputation in doing so. Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. As for the consecutive days, under FAQ it states multi-day tickets must be done consecutively. With that said, we sincerely apologize for the trouble you experienced while touring with us, we hope you grant us another chance to exceed your expectations.

Kind Regards,
BBTNY
