Good way to learn about a new city. Not so good problem solving
We had a nice start with the bus. It was a bit massy while we were getting in and the crowd was pushy. The tour guides and drivers were wonderful but at the end of the trip we got turned away from our route by an accident and I feel the company didn't respond quickly enough to solve our situation. We had to wait for about 30 minutes with our very tired small children (we were traveling with 4 children) until the company sent the trolly (that had no A/C in it) to puck us up. We learned a lot of facts about Philadelphia but overall the experience was long and tiresome.
Great... if you could find the stops
When we made it on to the bus it was fine, the stories were interesting and the guides were helpful and friendly. But the map was all but useless, and since it has giant cartoon images of the sites that take up entire city block on the map, it was impossible to tell where you should wait to get on the bus. Also, the bus doesn't always stop at a site if they don't have anyone to drop off or pick up, meaning if you're nearby but not right at the stop (which has no signs on the street and no indication on the map of which street corners or which side of the road to wait on), they will just drive by and you have to wait another 20 minutes and hope they see you the next time. This happened to us several times when we tried to get on at a new stop and bypass parts of the loop to save time, and we found it extremely frustrating and time-wasting. It was also upsetting that the whole problem could have been solved if they had a map that showed where to wait, rather than a general idea of where historic sites are. In planning our day there, we had already researched what places we wanted to see, so this wasn't useful at all. We ended up walking most of the day and it wasn't worth the $29.
This is the best way to tour a city
This is the best way to tour a city. I'm 77, took my 14 yr. old granddaughters on this and we all loved it. The guides do a wonderful job describing the sights and we just got on and off at our leisure. A "must" for all vacationers and day trippers. I've lived in the Phila. area all my life and still learned things i didn't know before
Employees were being rude to each other …
Employees were being rude to each other in front of customers. There was no professionalism displayed. It was very sad. The tour was very informative.
Unreliable route and poor communication on changes
Purchased 4 tickets for two days. Tour route was modified (1/2 the stops) and ended earlier in the day than tickets allowed. This made the tickets worthless as the tour stopped at #7 of 25 stops and there was no connecting shuttle available. NONE of this was communicated when we purchased the tickets, picked up the tickets at the tour site or got on the bus. Only when we made it to stop #7 and they told us to get off as they were turning around for the day. The next day was similar to the first.
Amazing Day On The Big Bus Tour!
Thanks to the Big Bus Tour we had an amazing day seeing all the sights of Philadelphia!
Wish they have a last pick up around 7 …
Wish they have a last pick up around 7 or 7.30. We missed the bus and took uber back . Rest all good .
We had to wait over an hour for the bus …
We had to wait over an hour for the bus in the very hot sun and no information. Then web finally get on a bus on we are made to get off, switch busses, take worse seats and then to too if off the tour guide was offense cracklings jokes about lazy government worker and telling questionable stories about African American kids riding bikes around the city and how stupid they are. I didn't learn anything about Philadelphia, it's history or culture. Except that my daughter liked riding up high on top of a bus, the entire experience was a waste of money and I'm ashamed your company represents my city like it does.
Great visit to Philly
Being a very hot day, your staff remained upbeat and friendly. They obviously cared for the people and strived to present an entertaining overview of the city. The greeters at the main stops were very helpful.
Excellent experience
Excellent experience. The staff are wonderful. They are friendly, funny and informative. Each guide has their own style and knowledge of the city. It's great getting in and off buses and getting new guides and learning new little tidbits about the city.
Good Tour and Accessible Friendly Transportation
Good information about the city and an easy way to get around the different attractions. Very nice that it's free transportation to local hotels including the airport. The downside is that it doesn't run into the evening. You have to buy a separate evening trip pass. It does take time to get around the city in traffic and you really need a full day to be able to get off a few stops and explore if you want to make it back to the stop to catch the hotel shuttle at 5:00. Bus isn't air conditioned very well so take that into account on hot days. Not much airflow downstairs and that's where you have to stay when traveling with a person with a wheelchair. Bus and airport transport was VERY accessible and accommodating for my daughter and her wheelchair. All of the drivers went out of their way to assist us. We would definitely use this tour again in the future.

Fun day in Philadelphia!
Fun day in Philadelphia! Our first tour guide was the best-- she was friendly, funny, flexible. Our next one was BORING-- he didn't seem to want to be there with us. Next one: okay. They really make or break the experience, so make sure all your guides are excited to be doing this job. Bus itself was good. Thank you!
Utterly unprofessional company
This was the worst experience I have had on a hop on bus tour. They changed the route part way through the day and never returned to collect us!
We eventually spotted a bus and were advised to go back to main point for refund. We did and would not provide as it was purchased on line. Ruined my last day!
Will never use this company again or recommend them ever
We enjoyed the tour very much
We enjoyed the tour very much. We stayed on the whole time for the whole tour all at once time instead of getting off and on. Our tour guide was great!! She was very energetic and very informative. We were glad we chose this company for the tour.
Great Experience
Tour guide was knowledge and friendly. Great way to get an overall tour of Philadelphia!!
Loved the tour
Loved the tour! We had a 2 day ticket. Loved that they hit all the major sites. Lots of good info from tour guides. Was fun hearing different guides highlight different things. Will definitely use Big Bus again!
The idea of a hop on hop off sounded …
The idea of a hop on hop off sounded great with the exception that the wait in between buses was a lot closer to 25-30 minutes. Also some workers were really interesting and sounded excited by the history while others legit put me to sleep. I fell asleep at one point because this guy was so boring. Until he made what I can only assume is a joke about Ben franklins grave which was a little morbid. Probably won't be ever doing a bus tour again.
