I would give zero stars if possible

I would give zero stars if possible. Horrible company to work with. They are hard to reach, hard to communicate with, do not deliver (certainly not on time), seem to lack the ability to think, constantly contradict themselves, ... I have done dozens of EDI projects throughout my career. Did 2 of them with Basware. Both were extremely stressful. Horrible experience. They don't even deserve 1 star.

Reply from Basware

We're sorry that your experience with Basware was so disappointing.

We recognize how much effort goes into an EDI project, and it's concerning to hear that both of your projects felt stressful and difficult to manage. Your comments about communication, responsiveness, and conflicting information are taken seriously.

If you're willing, we'd appreciate the opportunity to understand the situation in more detail. I will be in contact with you directly so I can ensure the right people review your concerns.

Thank you for your feedback.

Only negative aspects...

I don’t understand why this provider is involved in invoice transmission. Unfortunately, I can’t think of anything in favor of using it—only negative aspects come to mind. It unnecessarily complicates the process for the issuer to receive their payment. And customer service? What’s that? Apparently, Basware has never heard of the term. I believe this platform was created to block invoices, not to transmit them. It probably earns a commission for every invoice that fails to be delivered. That would explain a lot

Terrible system !

Terrible system !
We are a sme and have to submit invoices to Basware occasionally. Completely a joke. Lately we got a reply that the processing failed and in addition we received a lot of IT nonsense that is 100% irrelevant for the submitter. What then happened to the invoice can no one tell me. When I ask about that that I get a lot of more IT nonsense about failing FTP servers etc. I was just emailing a pdf document??? Not a system I would even consider in our company. We simply cannot expose customers and suppliers to that !!!

This system is a bad joke

A client converted to basware some time ago and as far as I can see it is just a mechanism for deferring invoice payment as much as possible. Originally I just the client an invoice in Word, now after I have submitted the invoice, the client has to send me back the invoice
with a purchase order number on it which then has to be converted to pdf and submitted to basware.
Not only does it create an extra burden for invoicing but also it misreads pdfs. For example I sent an invoice for £1,320 but according to the portal the invoice total is £1.32!!

Sadly you have no chance but to use…

Sadly you have no chance but to use this platform to bid for DPS2 contracts from the DWP UK. Appalling at best, low functionality at medium.

Prepare yourself for an evil ride on the Basware train if you dare to bid for DPS2 DWP contracts in the uK

Basware doesn't care about usability

I use basware on the cloud to procure a moderate volume of high value services, and I think that they do not care about the experience of those that have to actually do the purchasing.

Little things such as how model popup boxes behave, to the way that the predicted fields work.

Don't get me started on the search. "What search" you might say, it's like 1995. I can't just get a list of PRs I created, or even sort the results by supplier or add columns myself.

It is just really difficult to use software which serves the purpose as a compliant purchasing tool with no consideration to the end users.

Hate your suppliers? Use Basware

If you hate your suppliers and want them to have a terrible experience with your company, use Basware. It's overly complicated to set up accounts, rejects invoices for spurious reasons and makes it very, very difficult to get paid. Painfully bad.

Good tool for AP automation

Good tool for AP automation

What do I like best?
Basware was originally an AP software and that's where it strength is. Basware is always connected to accounting or ERP system so it is flexible on integrating to many systems. E.g. in large organisation where you might have many ERP systems in use you can still receive all your purchase invoices in Basware and connect easily Basware to different ERP systems. Also PO matching automation works well and you can really get touchless AP automation for your PO related invoices. End users love the UI as well as AP clerks

What do I dislike?
Catalog management and purchasing side is not user friendly and automated yet. Also there is no sourcing module. You can get white labeled solution from Basware but it is loosely connected to P2P. Basware is extremely configurable and with no real templates your system is as good as the consultants you get.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single system for purchase invoice handling. You can fully automate - I mean really touchless invoices for your PO related and recurring invoices. It is flexible on creating rules to check purchase invoice coding so you get correctly coded invoices to bookkeeping without having to check them anymore by an AP or accountant. But of course to get to this state you need to be committed to develop the system. It does not come out of the box. Requires effort from you and Basware consultants
