Good product, very difficult to justify at this price

Attio is a capable CRM, but after using it in a real business environment, I find the value proposition extremely difficult to justify.

Our experience started badly with Attio’s Startup Program. We were explicitly told by an Attio representative that we were eligible, with 80% off in the first year and 30% in the second. We were then told the program could be activated directly on our account.

After we renewed at full price, Attio reversed its position and told us that the original eligibility confirmation had been incorrect.

The proposed remedy was also disappointing. We were initially offered a 20% discount, but after asking for clarification it became apparent that this was essentially the normal benefit associated with moving to annual billing. After further follow-up, Attio eventually offered an additional 10%.

Separate from that experience, my bigger issue is simply the economics of the product.

At around $1,000 per user per year for the configuration we were considering, there is a large amount of functionality that we simply do not need.

Attio is polished and flexible, but for a relatively focused CRM workflow we found ourselves paying for far more platform than we were actually using.

Eventually the price/value equation stopped making sense. Instead of continuing to pay roughly €1,000 per seat every year, we built the functionality we actually needed ourselves using Claude Code.

My problem is that Attio is a good product, but not a €1,000-per-seat-per-year product for our use case. If you use a large percentage of its advanced functionality, the calculation may be different. For a company that needs a comparatively straightforward, customised CRM workflow, the pricing becomes very difficult to defend.

The Startup Program experience only reinforced that conclusion. We spent a considerable amount of time dealing with an offer that Attio itself confirmed and then withdrew.

Good software. Poor value for our use case, and a disappointing commercial experience.

Can't upload contacts

Can't upload contacts. No helpful errors. Management of this company needs a serious talking to from their investors. They are going to be struggling. Pipedrive locks users in so be careful using them, but Attio is absolutely trash. Mapping broken. No helpful formatting auto suggestions. Tedious.

Went down because of a bug in their systems. I lost multiple expensive leads because of that (their CRM was not working basically...). No compensation whatsoever, and support is disobliging. Avoid, they're not reliable.

Overpromises a next gen CRM

Overpromises a next gen CRM, but it's shittier than hubspot's free plan, there's almost nothing in it.

I signed up and all the UI was too small for me to even read, and support was slow, and there isn't any community around the platform, meaning you're left to do it all yourself
