I had my cards graded there quite a…

I had my cards graded there quite a long time ago. It was a terrible experience. At that time, a fixed processing time was advertised. In reality, it ended up taking three to four times that amount of time. Email inquiries were either not answered at all or answered in a very rude manner.

As a result, I received cards back with defects that were not present in my photos beforehand… along with very, very unrealistic grading and even clearly incorrect grades regarding substats.

I had already written a review back then, which was apparently deleted. This means AP Grading deletes real reviews, real customer experiences, and on top of that tries to cover up its own misconduct.

This time, therefore, this review is being backed up with photo evidence as soon as needed. To top off their unprofessionalism they had the audacity to embedding an eyelash inside the card. How much value was placed on quality control and serious grading at this company?- i wish i could upload pictures in here for every1 to see.

Professional, objective. Tough but fair!

Professional and (as of recently) very fast card grading service. Their objectivity is unquestionable in my opinion and is as good as it gets with human graders, and I'd often consider getting an AP graded card over PSA as well, as the quality of AP slabs is a little higher, mainly because the card is actually sleeved within the slab. Regardless of a card's value, their ratings remained consistently objective.

Achieving a 10 rating is appropriately difficult (but attainable). I submitted many cards, but only two of them that were basically flawless rightfully received a GEM Mint 10 rating. Conversely, cards with minor imperfections (such as a barely noticable printline) received a mint 8.5 rating, which is fair in my eyes. I appreicate having a service that prioritizes objective assessment over customer satisfaction.

Customer service could use an improvement. Based on other reviews and my personal experience, support responses can be slow sometimes. In an instance about a year ago, they didn't respond to my inquiry (grading status) at all after I had a long wait. I'd also like to see prettier labels (the certificate QR right now isn't center) and some sort of security features to back up the label (even though you can verify authenticity using the QR already).

Their slabs aren't as cleanly welded as they should, there are some spots on the sides of the case. They have high clarity, although there is some slight distortion as the plastic isn't perfectly smooth. They also attract dust like crazy, they have a lot of static buildup on the outside. The cases are unfortunately not of the highest quality. While they're better than PSA, it's still a low bar, and I'd appreciate better quality cases.

Thank you AP Grading! :)

Sent a card in to be graded (January 26th 2025). Got a confirmation of receival (February 2nd 2025). So far so good. After a few weeks I receive an e-mail saying the graded card got returned to AP by postal services . Customer service reached out and reconfirmed my address (March 9th 2025). AP customer service confirms my address and request for tracking services (March 12th 2025). I sent a follow-up e-mail to confirm reshipping of my card. AP replies DHL is having tracking issues, but AP customer service confirms in an e-mail the tracking number with the notice if DHL didn't update I should contact AP customer service (March 25th 2025). I send an reply to this e-mail because indeed the tracking did not update (March 31st 2025). No reply. I gave it a few days and send a reminder (April 8th 2025). No reply. I write a negative TrustPilot review and send another reminder (April 24th 2025). Within one day after this review I am contacted by AP customer service, they now redirect me to DHL customer service, so this is going to be interesting (April 25th 2025).

Best Service

I live in Spain, and I wasn't sure to send my Cards to this company after I saw some bad reviews about it from a Spanish youtuber. So I was actually very surprised about the great service. They work fast, the cases and label are great quality and the communication is friendly and professional. Last month the shipping company lost my package, so I was extremely enraged, but even tho AP had nothing to do with it, they offered to give me free Grading for my next cards. So all in all I can tell they have a great service and engage with their customers. So I am sending my cards to them and I heard some bad rumors about that spanish youtuber so I dont care and sending my cards to AP.

First time grading, negative experience

Edit: ik take this back. I did not know enough about grading. The 8.5 is strict and a good grade for these cards, even booster fresh.

Negative was still:
- Almost no communication (or reallllly slow)
- Wrong foil notation, no customer service on that.

--------------------------------------------------------

Old:

First time grading. Sent out 3 boosterfresh cards with Surge foil and silver foil.

Only 'foil' was mentioned on the cards, plus only got an 8.5 for each. Disappointed and will get them graded at another company.

Mail communication was barely there. No-go for me, will look for another company.

Great grading company in my opinion.

I send my first ever cards to be graded here and they came back fast and in some nice slabs. I see a lot of negative comments here but from some of the comments it is clear people are not that smart. If you do your part right they will do their part right (and fast in my case). Communication about the status of your order also is nice. The communication outside of the order status could be a bit better. I send a mail with a question and did not yet receive an answer (12 days later).

Worst place in existence to grade

It's not just that they are expensive, that they don't respond to messages for weeks or that they are extraordinarily slow, taking a month and a half to return letters. It's that their scoring is absurd, having to take them to another place to be graded and having a difference in score of up to 4 points! Don't ever fall into the trap like I did, choose any other place, you'll thank me for it!.

Fast, good communication and a fair grade.

I graded my Umbreon Gold Star from the 25th anniversary and got a fair 9.5. It only took 18 days for the card to come back and I was regularly informed about what stage the card was in.
The case is very sturdy and can't be opened by hand. Also, thankfully, it had no scratches at all.
From that experience I can definitely recommend AP.

very dishonest company

very dishonest company. To rule out fraud, I wanted to bring and pick up a card personally. After contacting on Instagram, I was informed that this would only be possible from 30 cards, which would correspond to a price of 600 euros. For a normal citizen, of course, hardly applicable. This is very strange, although only the shipping would be omitted. Unfortunately, it sounds like a scam, as reported in some comments.
