Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

Amazing and kind service from Dean. He tightened my footrests and got me a new fitting for my rollator.
Always very helpful.

Neither Jeff nor Dean batted an eyelid when I, my partner and my 6ft 4" mobility restricted dad rocked up without an appointment in their Southampton store in urgent need of a wheelchair. Within the hour we had a folding model which comfortably accommodated my dad's height and fitted in the back of our car. As a carer, I am more used to anticipating problems nowadays so professionalism and know-how are appreciated.

I took my elderly neighbour to Ableworld in Woolston, Southampton to get her walker fixed and she was very happy with the service she received. They didn’t even charge her for fixing a new knob to enable her to adjust the handles on her walker. The assistant ‘Peter’ was very helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. Great customer service. The shop was well organised with a great range of aids. We would highly recommend Ableworld.

After an injury, I tried to use my late husband's stairlift that had been switched off for nearly 5 years. Obviously, the batteries were dead. I called Ableworld, who's rates were much better than other firms and Roger, the engineer was here within the hour!
He was friendly, professional and very quick to replace the batteries. I am now safe on the stairs! Thank you Roger and Ableworld.

I have had my eye on a power chair and was told Ableworld stocked it, my Husband and I drove to take a look and they didn’t have one in Woolston Southampton, but speaking to Amy, she offered to order one in, I said I only wanted to Look at this stage, no problem I was told.
2 days later I was told it had arrived, I said I wouldn’t be able to get there till following week, again, no problem.
We went to Store on Monday, had a demonstration and I was so happy when my Hubby bought it for me.
Dean, who served us , Amy who ordered it, and all the staff in this branch were so highly professional and friendly, I would recommend them to anyone who maybe in need of a little help x

I recently took my elderly mother to the Woolston, Southampton branch of Ableworld as she was looking to buy a small mobility scooter. We received 5 star service from Dean who explained everything clearly to mum about the different advantages of the various scooters that he had in stock. I would definitely recommend Ableworld as they have an enormous variety of assistance aids for almost every need and the knowledge to go with them. Thank you Dean!

I had been looking for a particular powerchair and having great difficulty. An advert came up on facebook for Ableworld. I rang the Southampton shop and from the first contact Dene was brilliant. Than went to them and again could not fault the service. Highly recommended.

My mother needed to update her wheelchair and when we walked into the shop a lovely man called Peter came over to us and was so helpful. He looked at my mums old chair and said due to its age it was beginning to break so he got a nice new style wheelchair and showed us how it all worked and explained it very well , took his time and was extreamly patient and didn't do a hard sell like a lot of sales people do. I would deffinately recommend Ableworld for any disability piece of equipment .My mum has visited the shop and purchased all the things she has needed and is always impressed with the friendly service and good value for money. Needed a wheelchair for my wife who has advanced dementia and mobility problems. We are both 80, I am sole carer and with Parkinson's so lugging a 'normal' wheelchair about is not good, similarly my wife could not control a self propelled version. Dean and Peter fixed us up with a wheelchair with an Excel power wheel attachment. Heavy to put in car but in three basic parts chair/motor/battery manageable. Help and service was exemplary.

I have a father that has been active his whole life until at the age of 94 has started to show signs of wear and tear. Dean and Jeff were so helpful in helping me select an electric wheelchair and walker to ensure my father can still get around. They both were patient and informative in setting up and educating us on both our purchases. The ability to get around has meant my father is still independent, living on his own and cherishing life.

All the staff at the Southampton branch are so kind and helpful. Whatever I need they strive to go above and beyond to provide me with. I cannot specifically say anyone person from the maintenance guys to the team in the shop floor they are all fantastic people and they make me feel it's ok to be in my wheelchair and I am welcome in the store with anything I need. And they are always happy to give much needed advice too. And unlike most other stores I go in they treat me with respect like a human being and dont make me.feel ashamed that I am in need of their services. They are the only place i go to for what i need. I am very thankful to the whole team.

I booked a service for a manual wheelchair. I booked so I could wait for it and was told it would be 30 to 60 mins depending on what needed doing. I took it to the southampton store just before 0900 hrs, Mark took it from me as soon as I arrived. I went for a stroll and returned 30 mins later, the wheelchair was ready and waiting for me, cleaned and looking like new. Mark and the staff on the cash desk were very friendly. I have always had excellent service at the store and would recommend it to anyone who needs any type of mobility aids.

We found the Southampton store eventually but having the post code wasn't useful.
We spoke to Dean when we arrived.
They didn't have what I was looking for, a car booster seat, so he had a look on the internet.
He suggested we try a Halford store. I was able to purchase one from there. So thank you Dean for the helpful advice
