Not the same company I once thought they were. Falsely flag reviews too.
It’s still detects trees waving in the sun as people. Subscription prices keep going up. Don’t know if I’ll renew if it keeps falsely detecting people.

Your representative was very cooperative in taking care of my issue

Reply from Wyze
It's nice to deal with a real person when I have questions. They always do their best to resolve any issue. The cameras (of which I have and use 6 and different models) are very reasonably priced and I like the picture quality.

Started as an awesome cheap camera company, now it has turned into what seems like slop. Cameras work, but support is horrible. I have to call them just to get a ticket (no more contact form). Then their customer support uses AI. Seriously??

Representative quickly cleared up any mis understandings on the upcoming shipment
Very professional

I just had a great experience with Wyze customer service. They were very helpful in the process of assigning a camera to my existing plan, which I was unable to do in the app. They resolved the issue quickly.

I have been a loyal Wyze customer for many years. Recently, I purchased their window cameras to point toward the exterior of my home. Unfortunately, when they arrived, I realized they would not fit the specific style of windows I have.I was filled with trepidation about starting the online return process, as my past experiences with other companies have not been favorable. I am not always comfortable with online technical processes and expected a headache. Instead, I was very pleasantly surprised by Wyze’s extraordinarily wonderful and personable customer service.A lovely woman named Sherry assisted me. She patiently guided me through the entire process, despite the challenges I faced on my end. To my amazement, she even reached out via email afterward to check in and see how I was doing.Wyze certainly knows how to hire great people, and Sherry is a prime example. Because of this phenomenal support, I would not hesitate to buy another product from them, nor would I hesitate to highly recommend them to anyone seeking security cameras for inside or outside their home!

Warning to UK users: Wyze update bricked my working cam, dropped OS support, and offered a useless $25 voucher
I wanted to share my recent experience with Wyze support to warn other users—especially those in the UK—about how the company handles devices forced out of service by their own software updates.
The Situation:
I had a perfectly functional Wyze camera. Following a mandatory software/firmware update cycle, my camera stopped working. On top of that, Wyze updated their app to cut off compatibility with my phone’s operating system.
This wasn't a case of old hardware failing or breaking naturally. Wyze pushed an update that effectively destroyed my ability to use hardware I paid for.
The Support Runaround:
After exhausting every single troubleshooting step with standard support, I was told my case was being escalated to the "Management Team" and "Orders Specialists" to look into "available options."
Exactly 30 minutes later, "Management" stepped in to completely shut down the case with a final refusal. Their justification?
They can’t refund me because I bought it from a third-party retailer.
They can’t replace it because the camera model is now discontinued.
The "Goodwill" Insult:
As a final resolution, Wyze Management offered me a $25 Wyze Store Credit.
Think about the logic here: Their updates broke my current setup and stripped app compatibility from my phone. To actually use a new Wyze device bought with that credit, I would literally have to buy a brand-new smartphone just to run their updated app. They are offering a completely useless voucher that requires me to spend significantly more of my own money with the very company that broke my hardware.
(update to the above) UPDATE (September 2026): Wyze's senior support supervisors have now officially stated that they will not offer a cash refund or a functional resolution because my Wyze Cam v3 has reached "End of Life."
Let this be a warning to all consumers: "End of Life" at Wyze does not mean the camera naturally stopped working. It means Wyze will actively push mandatory software updates that "brick" fully operational, brand-new hardware if you do not own a 64-bit phone. They are hiding behind corporate warranty expiration policies to excuse intentional software obsolescence.
They offered a completely useless $25 credit for a US store that I cannot use as a UK resident, for an ecosystem my phone can no longer access. I have officially rejected this insulting offer and have now logged a formal international dispute with the cross-border consumer agency econsumer.gov. Do not buy Wyze products if you expect them to last.
Moving Forward:
I have formally rejected their store credit. Wyze is refusing to accept basic corporate liability for pushing destructive software updates to consumers.
Since they have given their "final" stance, I am now moving forward with a formal complaint to UK Trading Standards and Citizens Advice. Under UK consumer protection laws, manufacturers cannot push software updates that render hardware unusable without providing an adequate remedy (like a cash settlement or a fully supported alternative).
If you are in the UK or have older devices on your network, be very careful. If a Wyze update bricks your device or locks you out, expect a useless coupon instead of actual support.Would be zero, have to leave at least one star.
nb; My Wyze Cam V3 was working perfectly well until August 2026. I had reason to delete and re-install the app. At this point everything came to light. So whatever Wyze state took place in 2024 did not have any bearing on the functioning of my camera. So how would I even be aware of their OS upgrade?

Wyze - A Smart Security & Home Automation company.
I am a 10+ years a Wyze customer, and they keep earning it. My new Solar Pan Cam (bought Dec 2025, installed May 2026) wouldn’t activate. It turned out Wyze had issued a voluntary recall over the mounting screws. I requested and received a refund. Before I returned the camera, I learned the issue had been resolved and Wyze allowed activations. I called Wyze to ask if I could keep the Wyze Solar Cam Pan.
Angelika, from Wyze Customer Service, made it easy. She re-invoiced me quickly and kept me in the loop through the whole way.
Wyze doesn’t just make great products, they stand behind them. That’s why I stay a customer. 🙌

My Smart Lock stopped working even after I replaced the battery and went through every troubleshooting step multiple times. I bought it in 2023, and despite it failing so soon, Wyze refuses to help because it’s just out of warranty. If their products can’t last longer than that, what does that say about quality?
This isn’t my first bad experience either. Their light switches were advertised as dimmers, but they’re not, completely misleading. Between the poor product reliability, the false advertising, and the unhelpful customer support, I’m honestly done with this company.
I’ve tried to give Wyze the benefit of the doubt, but the lack of accountability is unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend their products to anyone looking for reliability or decent customer service.

We have 8 of their products for several years & we are very pleased with the sharpness of the images & the performance. I don’t recall any downtime except when the internet was out. We had a ring doorbell from one of their competitors, which often didn’t detect a person or delivery when a package was placed on our porch in front of our door. We just replaced that with the Wyze doorbell & chime & it was less expensive. The customer service team is awesome. Very nice & very helpful folks

Their cameras consistently stop working. Recordings cannot be viewed consistently through their app. Always receiving errors like NO VIDEOS AT THIS TIME even though there are saved videos. PAN cameras consistently move and stop on random directions and you wont know unless you're checking your cameras.
Overall, poor product, poor software, poor support. I bought 8 cameras for my home including their doorbell dual camera and spent a lot of money for a product that does not work very well, is not stable, and would not rely on my home and family safety with Wyze.

This is ridiculous. The app says my cameras are offline, but they’re actually online. It’s NOT my SD card—it’s your cameras. Y’all say on Google Play that updates “fix bugs,” but clearly they don’t. Stop blaming the customer and FIX the issue. I don’t want store credit. If you can’t fix it, issue a **RECALL**. I paid for cameras that should actually work.

After one year, I received an offer from Wyze to extend my subscription for another 12 months and receive 3 additional months for free.
I purchased the extension twice, but neither transaction went through correctly. I then contacted Wyze customer service and spent days and ultimately several weeks trying to get the issue resolved.
Eventually, they managed to extend my subscription, but I never received the 3 free months that were promised in the offer.
It is extremely frustrating to spend so much time dealing with what should have been a simple subscription renewal, only to end up not receiving what Wyze promised.
In my opinion, this is unprofessional and extremely poor customer service. If a company makes a specific offer to a customer, it should honor that offer when the customer accepts and pays for it.
As for the camera itself, the quality is okay, but honestly, it is nothing special compared with other cameras currently available on the market.
I cannot recommend Wyze. Based on my experience with their customer service and subscription handling, I would choose another brand in the future and would advise others to think twice before buying Wyze products.

The wyze.com website used to be user-friendly and fair. It has since morphed into a "how can we trick another $80 out of the unwitting cash cow on our site" black hole. You may get in cheap because of their low hardware costs, but the subscriptions and complete lack of customer service will make you beg for Ring.

Reply from Wyze
The camera itself is good, but unusable without a subscription. There is no AI recognition, every small pixel change is perceived as movement if you do not subscribe. Without an internet connection and their server, you cannot see what is on the SD card unless you take it out, if there is a power outage the date and time settings will gone. The v4 has a hardware lock, you cannot install any modified software on it. I do not recommend this product because of the subscription trap and HUGE privacy concerns.

Their whole model is predatory and just downright inconvenient. You can't transfer ownership of items, if a person dies you're just left with junk that doesn't work.

I've had wyze cameras for about 10 years and have dealt with a variety of issues. Less the 30 days ago I bought a roku box for my tv. While in the roku app to set up the device, it showed my wyze cameras by the individual names I had assigned to each one. I notified wyze customer service immediately about it and now wyze wants pictures of the front of each camera and a picture of the label on the rear. What does that have to do with the security issue I just reported?
