Without doubt one of the worst designed software solutions I have ever come across. The help / instructions have been written by a man who has been kicked in the head by a horse. Apparently you pay for a year and have to go through this nightmare every 199 days now to meet industry standards for wasting time.

$12k for a certificate. Apparently the login is sold separately.

AWFUL support from Seerat on May 1st, 2026. Also had terrible customer support from 'Deep' on January 4th, 2026 but gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Tried getting login credentials to our paid dashboard AFTER paying $12k+ for a certificate... and they want to make you go through a phone call. For what!? It's just a login.

They make it very frictionless to send them money, but anything that benefits the user and you need to jump through hoops. That's the kind of behavior a monopoly can try to get away with, but thankfully they have competitors. I'm going with a direct competitor next time that rhymes with PiggyShirt.

Worst of the Worst Customer Support

I rarely write reviews, but I make exceptions when service is either truly exceptional or completely unacceptable. In this case, my experience falls firmly into the latter.

My recent interaction with Sectigo’s customer support has been the worst I have encountered. The company demonstrates a troubling lack of accountability and responsiveness toward its customers. I have been attempting to renew my SSL certificate for over two weeks. All required steps were completed correctly, and I was awaiting final email verification. I was informed that once verification was complete, I would receive instructions for installation. Despite waiting more than a week, no communication was provided.

I subsequently opened a support ticket and was contacted by a member of the validation team, Gabriel Edwin Raj. He requested a registry/directory link and supporting PDF documentation, which I promptly provided. Since submitting the requested materials, I have received no follow-up for five days, despite sending two additional inquiries.

Today, I finally received a response from the same representative stating that my ticket was being closed due to prolonged inactivity on my end. This claim is entirely inaccurate and unacceptable. It reflects either negligence or a serious breakdown in their internal processes.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Sectigo. Their customer support is unresponsive, disorganized, and dismissive. I will be taking my business elsewhere, and I strongly advise others not to waste their time with a company that fails to meet even basic standards of customer service.

Painfully slow

Painfully slow, unresponsive support. Generic copy-paste replies that ignore the actual question. Processes drag on for weeks with no ownership and no sense of urgency. For a company whose entire business is trust and verification, the experience is frustrating and unprofessional. Look elsewhere.

Avoid this company at all cost!

One of the worst customer support experiences ever...
I got a code signing certificate, and the whole process dragged on for over 4 weeks because they allegedly could not find my business. Eventually, they told me to get a legal opinion letter from an attorney. After I paid my attorney to create this letter, Sectigo canceled my order anyway?!

After a month of hassle, including me paying for the legal opinion letter, they completely ignored my emails where I asked them to stop the refund and explained that I was in the process of getting the required documents. To this day, I have received no response to those emails (sent 2 weeks ago)..

Never again. At all costs: avoid this company!!

They don't offer refunds.

I placed a 3-year subscription for the product and wanted to cancel it immediately before it even shipped, so I spoke with a customer service representative who told me I needed to submit a request. It’s now the 5th day since I wrote this; I’ve sent numerous emails and support requests, but they’re not responding to me. The live chat team responds very well, but after that, I’m constantly checking my inbox. Everything was great during the purchase, but when I requested a return or cancellation, they still haven’t responded. I was planning to buy it again, but I don’t want to purchase a product from a company that can’t provide proper support. Please refund my money.

Suspect business practices

Suspect business practices. They cram you with an auto renewal and hit your credit card well in advance of the actual renewal date. Make it utterly impossible to disable auto renewal unless you sit in a chat conversation for over an hour.

They don't reply to support tickets

1. Purchased CMC
2. Tried to set up, got an error There has been an error with your submission
3. Contacted support via live chat, was told to submit a ticket.
4. The ticket went unanswered for 20 days, unanswered to this day.
5. Request full refund, was told they will be in touch.

I suspect the refund request will get lost too.

The worst service in years

I have hard time remembering a service worse than I had with Sectigo recently. First, they could not provide an invoice with a VAT ID included for three days. They ended up creating three invoices (two being incorrect) and when I paid the third one, they charged me three times (although I never authorized more than one credit card payment). The requests for return of the money are ignored so far.

Next, their "support and validation" team is less then useless. They could not validate my company that has been operating on the market for 16 years, they for some reason used an old defunct email of our company instead of the offical one and *refused to change it*, then there was no conversation as each email was replied by a different person (none of them seeming to understand what they are doing), then they brought new and new requirement for company validation.

And small glitches on top render the situation impossible to deal with - the support forms that don't accept a submission, the profile forms that deny the valid UK VAT ID, etc.

Complete junk. And I have yet to see my money back.

Too slow to solve issues

Too slow to solve issues. The bureaucracy of this company is ridiculous. I was transferred to this provider when the company was sold to them and it was a definite downgrade. They are not compatible with fast pace work environments, they take days just to send you an email stating the issue that was discussed from the beginning and everything needs to be escalated to another department, but not like they transfer you, they let that department know so they can get back to you when they can. When my signing key broke it took them about two weeks to replace it.

Never sent the validation email

Never sent the validation email, and their support article about DCV consists of nothing but an attachment that can't be downloaded because their server doesn't respond. Great job!

Nightmare - Incompetence - Avoid

Stay away from this company.

They bought out another company out that issued us a BIMI, and when it came time to renew it, it was chaos.

They are just a reseller/agent for SSL.com on this product, and I was bounced back and forth instead of getting treated like a customer of Sectico who could effectively act as agent on my behalf. Had to provide the same information to multiple parties, replies would go unanswered for weeks.

In the end after months, they still could not renew the certificate that had initially taken only a few days to issue from scratch with the other company.

Now I am waiting for a refund and will find another vendor for this. I have never seen such incompetence.

Clowns

The validation team and technical team in India are completely incompetant. They have created a problem by merging phone details of a competitor company and despite over 10 calls they continue to contact the competitor to valide a certificate for my business. The created the problem but they don't have the expertise to fix it. Ive contacted the domain register who have also asked me to validate the number I don't own after speaking with this team (???) Apart from that they talk in circles describing the issue incorrectly and keep asking for validation of that same number. Namecheap needs to drop these clowns.

I can't believe how dysfunctional this…

I can't believe how dysfunctional this company is. I had a digital signing certificate with Entrust for several years. Sectigo bought Entrust this year. I received an email in October to verify my credit card to automatically renew. I did that, and It automatically renewed on 11/14/25. I tried to use my certificate on 12/2/25 and it did not work, WITHOUT ANY WARNING. In the past, with Entrust, I would renew and the certificate would continue to work, without interruption. After about 2 weeks of emailing, I found out that MY IDENTITY had to be re-validated. Every email to tech support has greater than a 24 hour turnaround and the answers they give are not clear. I finally scheduled and completed a video interview on 12/12/25 to validate my identity. Then I had to contact them to ask what do I do now? I received a new physical token in the mail on 12/17/25. I followed the instructions but it said the Collection Code, which they provided, was not valid. I called customer service. They say the Certificate is not yet issued, whatever that means. They mailed me a token, but the certificate is not issued? They took my number and will call me back. It is now on 12/19/25 STILL trying to get that token to work. There is no reason for it to be invalidated in the first place, and this delay was completely without warning. I have been unable to sign anything since 12/2. I am losing clients over this.

A very painful experience

A very painful experience. Renewing a certificate is much more difficult, confusing and time consuming than it should be. I received 24 different emails from them, many of which were about trying to arrange a phone call, which wasn’t possible because their call booking web page didn’t work, and eventually they decided the phone call wasn’t necessary anyway. Their website is difficult to use, isn’t mobile friendly and looks like it was built 20 years ago. Their emails are excessively long and aren’t written in plain English.

Sectigo has ruined CodeGuard

They purchased CodeGuard and have completely ruined it as far as a service. CodeGuard is useless, and the “support” which Sectigo claims to offer is nonexistent.
