Really bad customer service from…

Really bad customer service from Primark. I just wanted to exchange shorts for the exact same colour and same price, all that was different was the size. It would be a simple case of putting the shorts back on the shelf and allowing me to exchange for a larger size. No money gained, no money lost and no loss to the inventory balance. Yet I was refused by the store manager and customer service. For a company to make millions they refuse to honour a £14 swap which like I said is just a size difference. Primark are the only retailer I’ve ever know to do this, I don’t understand. What a bad bad company, thanks for ruining a birthday gift. What a great memory to have. I still do not understand and Primark need shadow other retailers who are more customer focused. It’s seems like it’s all surrounding around money money money

I am genuinely shocked and disappointed…

I am genuinely shocked and disappointed by the disgraceful customer service I received at Primark Bolton Town Centre.

From the moment I reached the checkout, I was treated with complete indifference. There was no greeting, no smile, and no basic courtesy. The cashier simply scanned my items and asked whether I was paying by cash or card.

After paying by card, I politely asked for a paper bag. I was told it would cost 15p, so I paid £1 in cash. The cashier gave me the empty bag and my change but left all of my shopping on the counter, expecting me to pack everything myself. I found this extremely rude and disrespectful.

Customer service is about more than just scanning items. Every customer deserves to be treated with respect, politeness, and professionalism. Unfortunately, I received none of these.

This is, without question, the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a Primark store. I have already submitted a formal complaint to Primark because this standard of service is simply unacceptable.

I sincerely hope Primark investigates this incident and ensures its staff receive proper customer service training. No customer should leave a store feeling disrespected and undervalued as I did.

I don't visit often but when I do I get…

I don't visit often but when I do I get rushed by the staff and other customers. How are you supposed to pack your own items away at the exact same time you're meant to pay? The only way you can do that is if you have more than two arms!

I was in Primark recently and the guy behind the till said how much I needed to pay, but he didn't ask if I wanted to use card or cash so I had to say it and basically answer a question I was never asked in the first place.

To me that's poor customer service and that coupled with other experiences I've had in Primark over the years has made me vow to never put my foot back in the place.

Racially profiled

recently visited the Harrow branch of Primark. I went to the self service to pay for my items and needed assistance to use my gift vouchers. When I approached a staff member for assistance, instead of adding the vouchers, she began going through all the items I was buying. When I asked her what she was doing, she said a message had come up on the self service machine to check the items. I didn’t see any message come up on the machine and personally I think I was racially profiled by the Asian lady because I am black. Even though this is my local branch, I will not be returning.

Items missing but no refund

I placed an order for several items and received a text message saying that part of my order would be missing, but it gave no details about which items.

When I collected my order, I discovered that three items were missing. However, only one of those items had been removed from my bill, meaning I was charged for the other two items that I never received.

I contacted customer services by email to raise the issue, but after checking with their warehouse, they simply replied that they could find no problem. That appears to have been the end of the matter from their perspective.

What about the two missing items, worth £36, that I paid for but never received? As no dispatch note is included in the package, customers have no way of proving what was or wasn't sent.

I expected much better from such a large company. This experience has been extremely disappointing, and because of the poor customer service and lack of resolution, I won't be using them again. I will also be warning my friends and family about my experience.

I bought a facial wash today (26/06/26) from primark in Epsom. I put some on my wet wipes. I literally thought I blinded myself, the pain was nearly unbearable, I took over a hour for me to open my eyes , the stinging was unbelievable, I rinsed and rinsed my eyes out.
PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL USING THIS PRODUCT, it’s called Creamy Face Wash with vitamin E and organic rose water. It’s in a pink tube, I’m 72, I have never ever had a reaction to any product like this one, never ever, I thought that I had put acid in on my face and eyes, I am furious about this.

They cannot be bothered to serve you

They cannot be bothered to serve you. There are about 6 cash registers where you go to pay for your things, and they were extremely slow at scanning the customer before me’s items. And plus they do the most horrifically ugly press on nails I have ever seen in my entire life. I bought some, put them on before the glue to see what they would look like. They are so unbelievably hideous that it’s embarrassing. They used to do really good nails, and for some reason, they keep changing their designs every time I go there.

Unable to exchange an item without a receipt

I popped into the Winchester store to exchange a nightie I’d bought for my mum’s birthday, and honestly, the whole experience was beyond frustrating. After standing there waiting while the staff seemed far more interested in chatting to each other than doing their jobs, I was finally told I couldn’t exchange it because I had no proof of purchase.
Frankly, I found that downright insulting. The item still had all its original tags on, and it’s common practice that purchases are logged against your card at stores like Tesco. Instead, I was made to feel like I was trying to pull a fast one, which is completely unacceptable.
In the end, I didn’t even bother arguing further—I dropped it off at the local charity shop, where they were shocked to hear I was unable to return it and were very appreciative of the donation. Lesson learned: I’ll be thinking twice before buying anything as a gift from here again, and will stick to only purchasing items for myself that I’ve personally tried on.

Primark - Dont use self-scanning kiosks

First of all, I must say that whilst the store is huge with a lot of varieties of clothing, be prepared for long queue for billing. CAUTION: Don't use the self-scanning counters- We did shopping from Primark Stratford (Westfield) on 20/06/2026. We checked out using self-scanning at the tills. On returning home, we realised that we had been charged for an extra item. We bought two units of product 211196094 costing £7 each, but the self-scanning kiosk billed 3 units of the same product. The details are as under: Bill no: 06710692170370001062026000 Product code211196094 Store: 0671 Till: 069 Tran: 217037 Date: 20/06/2026 Time: 13:52 Oper:88671057

Thieving customers, or not?

I had bought a couple of pairs of women's jogging bottoms, however, when I tried them on they were rather large. I am 5 feet tall, my husband is 6 feet 1 inch and they fitted him in length too. So I thought I'd exchange them for something else as I had mislaid the receipt. Having chosen a nice shirt and couple of other bits I was told, in no uncertain terms, that I couldn't exchange without a receipt. Company policy, apparently they think that we're all nipping in pinching stuff wrapping it up in shopping bags and then trying to scam them. Nice one Primark, we're not all thieves but we all have a choice whether to come to your shops.

Primark Monks Cross York

Primark Monks Cross York

Went in yesterday, and of row reductions in the wedge sandals. Chose a pair for my daughter (along with 2 pairs of full price sandals from elsewhere) get to the self checkout and they scanned at full price, reduced sticker in them that granted had been ripped but I was then told that those were not actually reduced, that the reduced sticker was probably placed by accident and that they had attempted to remove the sticker (on 2 pairs on the shelf, different side but same style)

I was obviously annoyed that

1. They were on a reduced shelf with others the same (do not placed there by a customer who decided they didn’t want them and out them on any shelf)

2. That they did in fact have a reduced sticker in them for £12, as did all the other wedges on that stand (different colours)

So I was starving feeling a little embarrassed as they went in about the fact they were a mistake! The mistake is on primark, not me.
I paid full price for them but started quite clearly I was not happy, take the stickers off fully if you make a mistake, remove them from the reduced shelf if there by mistake
Do not wait till a customer takes them to pay!

Before leaving I was stopped by the manager to ask if I’d bought the shoes which I said yes, all he had to say was he was going to now go and remove the other pair!! Why stop me for that? Honour the price for your mistakes!!

I’ve heard of primark changing prices before but this was a blatant rip off that they didn’t rectify at all.
