One of the worst customer service…

One of the worst customer service experiences I have had in a bank.

The female staff member who dealt with us was unnecessarily rude, dismissive, and displayed a poor attitude from the start. We were kept waiting multiple times, yet there seemed to be no real effort to address or resolve the issue we had come to the branch for. Instead of listening and helping, she came across as uninterested, impatient, and unwilling to provide even a basic level of customer service.

What was most frustrating was the complete lack of professionalism and respect. Customers should not feel like they are a nuisance for asking for assistance, yet that is exactly how we were made to feel. The interaction left us feeling ignored, frustrated, and disappointed.

A bank's reputation depends heavily on the way its staff treat customers, and this experience fell far below any reasonable standard. I sincerely hope management investigates and addresses the customer service issues at this branch, because no customer should be treated in this manner.

I gave the highest score for opening a…

I gave the highest score for opening a business account with Metro Bank because the entire experience was efficient, professional, and genuinely stress-free. The process was explained clearly from start to finish, communication was prompt, and everything was handled with care and attention to detail.
A special mention goes to Haleema from Bristol Branch, who made the whole process incredibly smooth. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very supportive throughout, ensuring that every step was straightforward and easy to understand. Her excellent customer service and proactive approach made a real difference and left a very positive impression.

Good in branch support, not good live chat though

Overall, metro bank is a good bank. I LOVE that its one of the last banks that actually has humans in person when you visit a branch instead of relying on only machines like Barclays.

The only thing that isn't the best is the live chat in app, the wait times are long, and the agents in app arent very helpful compared to the staff in the branches which have always been very helpful.

Don’t even bother trying to use this…

Don’t even bother trying to use this bank. It’s a nightmare to even open an account and the whole experience of dealing with them has raised my blood pressure and probably affected my mental health. There are plenty of other banks and I strongly suggest you try them first.

Booked into Open a Business account

Booked into Open a Business account. Sushan Gurung was great in helping us through the process. Took around 2 hours and account was open within a few days. Fairly straight forward when compared to opening account with another bank. Service was Excellent. Sushan's customer service was great..

My card was stolen on the 7th of April…

My card was stolen on the 7th of April £300 stolen from the ATM after a while Metro said they will favour me and give me back the money they took the temporary payment back on the 17th of April but 4 weeks ago they said i STILL owed them the £250 again after a week of stacks of phone calls again I was assured that I didn't owe the money and the agent I spoke to again assured me that the case was closed now Thursday the 7th of May my account went £248 overdrawn which now means that when my pension credit goes into into my account Monday (i get paid weekly) I'll have nothing to live on as I'm a 69yr oap living alone with I'll health issues went to Metro yesterday and they are now claiming through the fraud team that the fraud was rejected that's 3 different story's by 3 different departments fraud, disputes, and Croydon Metro i hope they are proud of themselves ,I've just checked my statements for April and May now after metro said they take my side on the fraud they claim that they paid me twice once for temporary and once for the fraud now they took back the temporary payment which i don't dispute but on the 7th of May they took a second payment claiming I've been paid 3 times which is FALSE

Painful to use

Painful to use! Been in to bank 4 times to get a mandate approved and although the staff seem helpful I get nowhere and everything is done so slowly! Unfortunately this is the bank our Parish Council have chosen so I'm stuck with it for now.

At the Putney Branch

At the Putney Branch, I have always had very good service for my counter transactions and excellent customer service from Enrico for non counter requests. He is so helpful, patient, professional and a nice guy. Today I walked into the bank and approached me, asking me if there is something he can help me with. I think Metro Bank have a great asset there!

Worst Customer Service - Ever!

After fighting to get past Aida (their stupid AI chatbot who is too stupid to know that if you can't log in you can't use web chat), I held 20 minutes on the phone, then it rand 3 times and the line was dropped (probably hung up by one of the two customer service people they have dealing with calls) - I came here to vent, but I guess the 1.8 rating and the fact that Metro don't reply to negative reviews means I'm not telling you anything that countless others haven't already said

Absolutely awful bank…

Absolutely awful bank… I was de-banked due to chasing a refund… no explanation, no warning… just a rude letter to inform me my account was closing, and to transfer my balance to another account with another bank. I asked for an explanation, still nothing… I cannot understand how this bank works and operates… I’ve reported Metro bank to the financial banking ombudsman

Utterly useless bank

Utterly useless bank. My boyfriend’s account is locked out because of a £4k transaction I sent him. Customer support has been useless both in person and on the phone. It’s been two weeks and he still can’t access his account and spend money. And he can’t pay me back my money either. So both of our lives are affected. They will seriously make your life even worse when you need money the most. Stay away from them!
