I selected the Carry-on add-on on a previous page, and it was randomly dropped from the final bill when I went to pay it. I had to go to the actual airline's website to add it back on.
I wish I had caught it before I paid for the flights but at least I caught it before the actual flight date! Because that's a big risk for someone who doesn't catch it!

A frustrating experience with Budget Air. The flights I booked were affordable, with a good airline, but when I arrived to check in I had a whole bunch of frustrations. The first was that the airline couldn't link my flights and they were worried that I would miss my flights. Due to a delay we had to sprint through the connecting airport with our bags and young children. Secondly, for one of the legs (strange it wasn't both of them), we were told we had only a personal item with carry-on, and had to pay US$240 to bring on our small carry-on bags. This was not made clear to me while booking or with my email ticket (but maybe if I'd read through pages of smallprint I would have found it). I checked the airlines website for baggage information and found I could bring a personal item and a carry on item, but it turned out Budget Air booked an Ultra Basic flight for one of the legs so this did not apply to me. I tried to add this booking to my account as it was not showing up and the platform never worked. I'm travelling the world this year with my family, and won't use Budget Air again. Kiwi I've had no problems with. I'm sure customer service will give an AI written response to this review as they gave me when I reached out through chat, but I'll still be $240 out of pocket, and I'd recommend you don't take the risk.

Booked a flight using Budget Air through Porter Airlines. Everything was fine right up until I reached the flight check in desk, where I was informed that because my Budget Air booking was missing a middle name, which didn’t match my passport, I could not board the flight. They said the only way to change the name was to call Budget Air. I spoke to an agent who repeatedly insisted they were not able to help me, and that I would need to talk to the airline. When I was denied boarding, I called again, and was told they couldn’t even book me a replacement flight. Have never been treated this poorly by an airline or booking company.
UPDATE: After customer service saw this review, they proceeded to cancel my return flight as well. Since I was not entitled to a full refund on that flight, I am now out nearly $500 extra since I have to book a new return flight. Called customer support again and refused to help me at all, no discounts or anything remotely helpful, and were pretty rude on the phone as well.
AVOID this agency at all costs

Fraudulent travel agency, avoid at all cost. Lied repeatedly that they have cancelled a flight and requested refund and awaiting outcome from the airline. I have been informed by the airline directly they have not received any correspondence from budget air.

Awful service when you really need support
I mistakenly used the wrong dates to book a ticket. As soon as I received my email, I realized my error and reached out to BudgetAir to ask them to fix it. It was less than 10 minutes after booking. They refused. You can't talk to a human so I chatted with someone - I don't know if that someone was human. The service was awful. No help in resolving the issue even when no "ticket had been issued". I read the policy and it makes no sense. I spent almost an hour chatting. You read about how generally awful BudgetAir when it comes to resolving issues but sometimes think you need to give them a chance. Do NOT use BudgetAir to book your tickets. I have used other platforms like Expedia and never have I encountered an unwillingness to resolve a human error issue - I mean who has not booked a wrong date accidentally!
