We’ve used Blueberry for a few years…

We’ve used Blueberry for a few years and it’s been convenient, however our latest use of Blueberry has me concerned.
We used them for ear pain my daughter is having, they prescribed an eye drop for her ears where there is a similar prescription available specifically for ears and I was about to administer the drops into my daughter’s ear when I decided to pull the prescription information from the box and review dosaging. The specific formula they prescribed is not approved for use in ears. We contacted our pediatrician and they said the prescription isn’t the right drug for an ear infection, but the Blueberry Doctor is insisting it is fine for ear use.

We’ve had an incredible experience with Blueberry Pediatrics! Their quick responses always put us at ease whenever our girls aren’t feeling their best. It’s also so convenient to be able to connect with them, even when we’re out of town. We’re so grateful for the peace of mind they provide!

It's a wonderful service

It's a wonderful service. Someone like me with anxiety, and 7 kids... It's a lot getting people to the doctor cause I'm like a mother duck with ducklings they all want to go with me. This service is amazing. The doctors are top notch, and it's a breeze to use, if not they walk you thru step by step if they need a repeated video or something. It's worth EVERY PENNY. God bless! I've used it again and again.

no option to turn off auto-renew

UPDATE
Another CSR got back to me and said that they've been having issues with their 1 month advance notice for auto-renewals via email, so I guess they do give notice, but it's still really odd. She said they're getting 100% blocked or going to spam, and that their tech dept is "working on it." There are other ways of sending notice: texts and/or messages sent directly to the member's account. I check spam every day and it didn't go to spam in my case, so it just must have been "100% blocked" even though I have a very standard browser and email provider (Chrome and Gmail).

She did confirm that there's no option to turn off auto-renewal. The only way to "turn it off" is to cancel your membership.

I maintain my 2-star review:
1) make sure notices for auto-renewal are sent multiple ways: email, text, online account messages; it's easy these days w/ AI and the technology that exists
2) give an option to turn off auto-renewal without having to cancel membership

I have subscriptions with many companies and services who follow the above two policies.

**********
This is a review of their membership policies rather than their doctor services. There's no option to turn off auto-renew. The CSR I just communicated with said that to turn off auto-renew I must cancel my membership. Turning off auto-renew and cancelling a membership are not the same thing. Blueberry just doesn't give the option to turn off auto-renew, which is a shady way of handling online memberships in my opinion.

What makes it worse is that they don't notify you via email or text that the subscription will be renewing. These two policies have led me to the decision to cancel my membership when it's up at the end of the year. I only give my business to companies who allow you to opt out of auto-renew and who notify you when your subscription/membership is up for renewal. It's the transparent and respectful way of doing business.

Lifesaver!

Blueberry saves SO much time and money. Being able to take 5-10 min at home (or anywhere) to do an exam and then go about your day while you wait for their response (which is very quick) really takes the stress out of doctor visits.

They won’t treat what they say they can

I would not recommend this service. They advertise they can treat a sinus infection. But when my son had one they could not treat it and instructed us to go local, which we did and had our antibiotic within the hour at a local utc. False advertising in my opinion.

Sign up! It's worth it!!

Blueberry Pediatrics is absolutely amazing! I've had them for several years now. I love that you can start a visit and get a REAL doctor anytime of the day or night. No need to drag your kids to the germy doctor's office. Excellent care from the comfort of your home! The chat feature is my favorite! Has there ever been a time where you wanted to ask a question straight to the doctor without needing a full-on visit? The chat feature is for this! Overall, I would 100% recommend this service to everyone with kids. ONE visit on the app, and I've already saved enough money to offset the cost of Blueberry! Unlimited questions and visits with no surprise costs. Get the same prescriptions with less hassle and fewer costs. Absolutely worth it!

Blueberry is just what mom’s need!

Blueberry regularly knocks our experience out of the park! We get a quick response, connected with a caring medical provider, and an easy care plan to get my kids feeling better all without leaving our house! They are really good about encouraging in person care if needed, not over prescribing medications, and following up to make sure my kids are feeling better!

Blueberry has saved my family money and…

Blueberry has saved my family money and time sitting in a busy doctors office on so many occasions. They send all the tools necessary to quickly assess your child’s vitals at home. Their app is incredibly user friendly and I’ve never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to be evaluated. The doctors are very thorough and ask for clarification if need be. We have been treated for rashes, strep throat, bronchitis and ear infections. Always happy with our care and follow ups.

⚠️ Parents

⚠️ Parents: Please Review the Terms of Use Before Using This Service
I strongly urge any parent considering Blueberry Pediatrics to read their Terms of Use very carefully before signing up.
My experience with this service was deeply distressing and, in my opinion, revealed serious flaws in how they manage pediatric care through a telehealth model. In my case, Blueberry escalated a situation involving my child and filed a report with Child Protective Services despite never evaluating my child in person and being made aware of multiple in-person medical assessments that found no cause for concern. This caused significant emotional trauma for my family.
In my view, the providers seemed more focused on following rigid internal protocols and protecting themselves from liability than on delivering thoughtful, individualized care. This is particularly troubling in a telehealth setting where direct examination isn’t possible, and decisions are being made without full context.
Even more concerning is that their Terms of Use include a binding arbitration clause and class action waiver, which appear to limit parents’ ability to seek legal accountability in the event of harm or negligence.
While telehealth can be a valuable tool, my experience with Blueberry Pediatrics was not helpful but harmful. I would never want another parent to go through what we did without being fully informed of the risks. Please proceed with caution and know exactly what you're agreeing to.

DO NOT FALL FOR FAKE REVIEWS

DO NOT FALL FOR FAKE REVIEWS and paid influencers. I had a terrible experience!! You are better off googling symptoms yourself, coming up with a diagnosis then go see your IN PERSON doctor because that’s what they are going to tell you to do anyway. The doctor .. (I don’t believe she was a real doctor) told me to call poison control because I gave my kid 1 tablet of ibuprofen (he can take up to 3!) every 4 hours for a day. She clearly didn’t read any of the notes I had provided about his symptoms. She was condescending and her use of smiley faces when she clearly was not wanting to help was so unprofessional and unnecessary to say the least. My point is .. she wasn’t being kind .. she was being a covert b!tch. This company is USELESS and unhelpful. Dont waste your money or time. AI is better .. 🤖

Acting without evaluation, putting our kids at risk

If I could give zero stars, I would. Blueberry Pediatrics recklessly filed an unfounded CPS report against our family after we followed our actual pediatrician’s advice instead of their misguided recommendation. The doctor never assessed our child via video or requested photos of our toddler to evaluate if there was any consistent evidence of abuse.

Based on a photo of a bruise on his ear sent through chat (the reason for the visit; it looked dark so we wanted to make sure there wasn’t anything we needed to do or follow-up on, making sure it wasn’t a sign of a more concerning illness vs a toddling accident), they claimed concern of child abuse and directed us to take him to the ER for investigation. This was absurd, and we let them know a) he had just been seen by his actual pediatrician who had no such concerns after a thorough evaluation on his 15 month visit and b) we would gladly take him to the pediatrician in the morning but the ER is full of sick people and c) it’s $500 vs a $15 copay. They said we didn’t have a choice and called the hospital to tell them we were bringing him. What we actually did was call the pediatrician, explained what was going on and his office directed us to forgo exposing our little guy to the hospital and bringing him in the next day so they could clear this up with a check up Blueberry could follow up on. We did and as expected they said he was fine; however, Blueberry Pediatrics didn’t follow up—they simply reported us without cause.

Our 6 year olds were traumatised by a social worker (though kind, it’s scary) and police officer showing up to our home. They spent the rest of the day coming up with plans to “keep each other and the family safe” so they wouldn’t be taken away. Heartbreaking given no one had done anything wrong—our little guy’s only been walking for a few months. He’s not steady—toddlers bang into things and fall. And they get bruises. It’s part of growing up. His actual pediatrician took one look at the bruise and said it was clear he banged into something- the crease was evident, and not something someone did to him. Had Blueberry bothered to actually evaluate him, perhaps they would have seen the same. But they didn’t. Their “visits” are chat- and phone-based, though they do have video capabilities, the doctor chose not to use it. Weird and reckless, given her subsequent report first to the local hospital and then CPS.

We have 28 years of spotless parenting between us, and nothing untoward has ever happened in our home. Filing reports like this without evidence is not just irresponsible—it’s harmful. If you’re considering this service, be aware that they may act without due diligence, harming your children and putting your family at risk.
